[Q] Paid Apps Enable? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have already got my Desire HD and using it without any simcard. It's unlocked and unbranded but I have not got root access since I did not neet it yet.
Version : 1.32.405.6 (Froyo 2.2.)
Once I am on Wi-fi I can see only Free apps in the market. Do I need a Sim card to see paid apps as well or any software update or root it and install "Market Enabler" or something?
Regards.

You will see Paid Apps only if the SIM card in your phone comes from one of the countries which Google has allowed purchases from the Market to be made. A look at your avatar shows that you're from Turkey, which is not a supported country at the moment (Full list here http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138294).
You could use MarketEnabler or MarketAccess, but you need root for any of them to work properly. Another trick that works is simply by popping a SIM card from the above mentioned countries in your phone, and you'll be able to buy apps, irrespective of your current location.

Thanks a lot my friend.
Upon your reply I got root and S-Off my device than after installed "Market Enabler" and successed to see paid apps. thanks again for cooperation.

Need HELP I Have No Idea.

Hi guys I am a newbie here and need some help I have read through a few posts and still don't fully understand things to my specific needs I recently de-branded and rooted a xperia play and things went well I used some software that I was told to use and then used gingerbreak excellent stuff but now I have another query.
I have an xperia play running android 2.3.3 with the build version 4.0.A.2.368 originally the handset was on Vodafone I bought it 2nd hand and put my t-mobile sim card in and everything works fine, I have apps on there that relate to Vodafone customers e.g Vodafone store Vodafone updates and something called qype I do not want these an can not uninstall them there is also the apps that came with the 2.3.3 update like the wise pilot app that I don't need and want to remove. I also keep getting low storage warning and cant see why as I only have a few apps installed an about 10 games most of which I have moved to sd card using the built in option.
I have read about not being able to use gingerbreak with 2.3.3 I have read about downgrading to 2.3.2 and then using OTA to update but what I don't want todo is loose my games and apps that are on my fone can anybody tell me if this is possible and how I can do this. I don't want todo anything fancy like over-clocking I just want a way to free up space move apps to the sd card and remove the unwanted apps that I don't need.
I do apologize if this has already been discussed before I have searched and cannot find anything.
Look for thread in the dev section on how to root with zergRush, that should do it even on 2.3.3
And there's a thread about wich apps are safe to delete/freeze. Think it's located in the general section.
Regards Dousan...
thanks i will give this a try a bit later gona backup all the data i can just to stay on the safe side before going head with the it.
You can downgrade to 2.3.2 without loosing your data, just uncheck the ''Wipe data '' box, gingerbreak and then ota to 2.3.3 and you have root on 2.3.3 without data loss

Have a look in the development forum, your going to need to downgrade and get it rooted you would then probably be best served installing a custom ROM, although you could always install an RUU and take it to a stock UK ROM. Have a look at the Advanced Ace Hack Kit, which will do all the heavy lifting for you.

Rooting Samsung SCH-W999

Hello! I have serious problem rooting Samsung W999. This is a kind of special device with dual screen, dual sim (and the rest such as CPU ram are the same as Galaxy S II) running 2.3.6. There is not much information for it.
I tried with Superoneclick 2.3.3 it failed, I also tried some others such as unlockroot, kingroot, gingerbreak etc. but non of them is working.
I wanted to try odin to flash the kernel but since there is no ROM avaliable online and I'm in the UK (The only way to fix it is in China, as it's only avaliable for China Telecom), I can't do anything if I bricked it.
Is there any better method for it? Thanks!!
I'm missing the Google Mobile Service, as google shop is not avaliable in China. That's the most annoying thing now. Although I can install the service framework and play shop, since they are not system app I can not download.
I need to put the apk into system/app
Is it possible to flash the files via odin? As the recovery mode is blocked.
Now the ROM has been updated to fc16. Maybe I will try to use recovery, but can't find which cmwrecovery is suitable for W999......
Hi

thanks for replying - i cant check at the mo as my phones playing up for other reasons so im probably going to have to reinstall the firmware.
i havent been able to find much on this app and rooted phones and the only info i have found was xposed and rootcloak which doesnt work, then the only other 'ideas' were complete removal of supersu,
are you still using xposed and rootcloak when disabling supersu or is that not necessary with this method?
