Original Carrier ROMs? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I've checked around but I can not seem to find original ROMs from cell phone carriers.

I also would like to know this so i can have a copy of the original rom that was installed when I got my G2. I do have a backup but it is rooted and would like to have an unrooted pre or post OTA update just in case

Not sure if this might be it, but: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835971

They are in the stickied thread that also have the guides, kernels, etc. Called Original Shipping ROM

There are a lot missing though, you're right. e.g. there's an old Bell Desire Z ROM but not the actually shipping version. No Vodafone UK ROM, plenty of stock Asian ROMs are missing, etc, etc.

They must be somewhere =[
So hard to find the Bell ROMS

Stock Orange UK ROM?

I'm having some major data issues with my desire, which was originally from Orange. However, I'm running a custom ROM now, and would like a way to get back to the stock Orange ROM so I can call them to try and get a replacement handset. Failing that, I suppose I could just brick it on purpose, although I'm not sure of the ethical implications of such actions, so I would rather just revert to a stock ROM and send it back to them!
If anyone knows of where I can find a stock rom that would be great. I've checked the various threads here and at modaco but found nothing. Or, if someone could dump the stock orange uk rom that would be helpful too.
Thanks
ive no idea but from what ive read there isnt any stock roms available? For Orange at least, im contemplating getting a desire on Orange also so would like to know how you get on

I've had a good search across the net for the Orange stock ROM too, but no joy.... If you do find one, please post.
how would you go about backing up a ROM so that it could be used by other people or just as a backup to go back to.
my brother has a desire on orange, if he could backup his rom, then could be used here and as a backup for him.
You can't back up a stock ROM, I don't think
According to this it is possible!

From what I've gathered you need to root to install nandroid to be able to backup your ROM... and rooting means getting rid of the Orange ROM. I think the other ROMs that are available have all been leaked somehow? Or updated OTA?
@Unclesomebody
I purchased an Orange branded device too and have experienced data problems. How bad are yours? Signal is still poor in comparison with other phones but since I've flashed a generic ROM (see signature) and changed to GSM auto (PRL) in the *#*#4636#*#* menu as described in another thread, switching between 2G and 3G networks has improved considerably.
I haven't tried flashing radios yet. Have you?
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Orange accepted it regardless of the generic ROM.
Some of the early orange handsets were unbranded and had stock roms on I beleive so you might be able to get away by putting a stock 1.15 rom on it.

[Q] desire radio/rom/misc issues, maps not working, recorder freezing

ok so this is my first post here after a night of troubleshooting i decided i might ask here directly since everyone seems to know what is going on.
im a fairly big phone noob but i do know what basic references mean.
so anyway, i have an asian desire, unlocked, unbranded (but apparently even though its completely unbranded, the fact that its chinese and has chinese texts places it in the "branded" category.)
so last night i grew tired of waiting for froyo for asian desires and decided to change things around.
things i did.
changed my rom from stock asian rom to RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed
installed froyo from one of the links on this site (untouched, official HTC euro rom).
since then, anything that uses the "radio" doesnt work. recorder freezes, google maps doesnt work, my location doesnt work, etc.
now, ive read i need to upgrade the radio. thing is, my phone is not rooted. and id rather not root at all, all i wanted was froyo (and iirc, i cant root now anyway, since im on 2.2)
is there any way i can fix my issues with my phone now? thanks in advance.

Finding the right stock firmware

Hi,
I have a galaxy s4 mini gt-i9515 lte on the three network on the UK. I'm currently running cyanogenmod nightly but wish to flash back to stock for gear compatibility.
I'm having trouble working out the right stock rom.
The only one that matches my baseband is the Spain movistar rom.
Is that right? Will that have me all Spanish? What would happen of I flashed the rom for three? The baseband doesn't match, but I don't know if that's an issue?
Thanks.
I have the same as yourself and after looking on SAMMOBILE and other places I would be wondering what to use too. I'm not sure what the last update 3 have released in the UK but it looks like it might have been XXUAMF5 which you can download from here. I have a copy of it I downloaded last year as a go to stock ROM if I needed it. You can always use Kies to check for updates after.
Excellent, will give that a go. The movistar one appears to have "issues"
RIght, so the H3G one didn't work as I've got an unlocked phone from Carphone Whorehouse. So I had to go with the BTU I9515XXUBML4, and that "works" only my NFC won't turn on and my wireless is INCREDIBLY unstable, just stopping providing any network connections.
Is that likely to be a "Wrong Stock ROM" issue, generic Stock Rom Issue, or an "I've messed my phone up" issue?
Ran just fine on Cyanogenmod, and I had /some/ wifi issues on the original ROM, but not like this...

I doubt you have messed up the phone. There is a collection of ROMs here. Perhaps you need to flash a compatible kernel rather than the CM one. Sounds like you don't need a branded ROM or anything.

GT-I1860L No network.

Hello, last week I was given a Samsung Galaxy Ace II to install a custom ROM on, however, after flashing CM 11 I noticed that the phone wasn't recognizing the sim card, so I tried to downgrade again but I got the same issue. So far I've installed about 10 different stock firmware and updates and the phone still doesn't want to recognize the sim card.
The phone was originally working with the operator Movistar (Venezuela). But it seems like there's no official firmware for my country. I've already tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53921158&postcount=8 and it didn't work.
There's just one thing that I've read online but haven't tried, something that has to do with the "tee" folder, I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with it, and I also don't know where to get the original files from.
If there's anything that you guys know that might help me, please post it.
PS: The phone was originally running 2.3.6 GB (In case that matters).
PSS: Yes, I am pretty dumb for not backing up the entire firmware prior to installing CM, but there's nothing I can do now.

At&t zforce2 how to remove all at&t warez and make stock?

I picked up a at&t phone off eBay and I work off a regional carrier that doesn't have this phone. Is there any generic firmware that will still get updates like a blanket Motorola version? Or am I stuck with rooting and using someone's packaged rom to get away from at&t customized stock rom?
Been a while since I've rooted and changed firmwares on my phones so I apologise for the noob question.
Thanks
If you are talking about normal OTA update then you should be fine
in a few days i will test flashing the retail firmware to my at&t device and will let you know more then if it works or not.
Awesome. Thanks. Yes would love to remove the at&t apps and branding from this phone.
Any luck??
still waiting for my new device in the mail.
