Ok, my phone was working fine, but just now the phone screen turned blaack, ive rebooted it, replaced the battery, slid it open, charged it, NOTHING WORKS!, i NEED it tomorow, is there ANY way to fix FAST!? HELP!
Your flex cable ribbon that connects mainboard and screen is broken/ripped.
Replacement cable cost $60 and you must order at least two of those. Then obiously replace it. Tho it's out of stock now.
Tough love, hate sliders now.

Hey guys, I got some questions.. Someone told me that for 90$ HTC would replace my Slide & give me a new one. The questions are:
will they replace it anywhere in the world?
will they replace it even if I lost the original accesories?
will they replace it even if it's not in good conditions?
where do I gotta ask for the replacement phone?

HTC or even T-Mobile will replace free if its still under warranty. If not then maybe you have to pay to get it replaced/fixed. As far as condition... Is the screen messed up? Scratches don't matter. If its scratched up then they'll still replace it. But if its cracked then that's on you.

Thanks for answering.. The screen isn't cracked, OH but the screen is kinda separated from the keyboard (can still perfectly slide, everything works, but it has a gap between the top middle and the bottom middle), another problem's that I live in Paraguay (south americ, no T-mo or official HTC stores here, I bought this phone on a trip to the US).. How can I contact HTC and find out more about a replacement phone? And how do I know if it still has warranty?:/.. OH, and will they replace it even if I don't have the original accessories?

I think warranty is like 6 months. you have to call T-Mobile. They will give you a new phone. It doesn't matter if you have accessories or not because they will trade just the phone itself. No battery, battery cover or accessories. the just want the phone.

If something's not working (and you're not at fault, which you're obviously not here), that means it's time to call up T-Mobile customer support and exchange your G2.

I am having the same problem all of a sudden
Mines functions properly now..all I did was give the speaker a few taps n it started back working
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I saw the Teardown photos of the G2 the other day.
After seeing those, it's clear why this happens. The speaker is basically one piece attached to the back plastic panel with simple contacts built into it. The mating contacts are soldered to the mainboard. When they assemble the phone the contacts just press together. So really it can be very susceptible to dust, drops, bumps, or even slight moisture.
I work in a semi dusty environment though, and I haven't had any issues with mine. But with winter here now I'm sure it will see a lot more moisture so I'm crossing my fingers.
I will try to make this as short as possible. I got my vzw galaxy nexus used on eBay 3 months ago. I loved it like it was my second child. A week ago I noticed the radio was not showing a signal or a very weak one, sometimes but it always worked. Until last night, It wouldn't register a signal so I rebooted it. It started to boot loop, never getting past the nexus logo. It was unlocked, rooted, but running stock jdq39. I left the battery out for an hour and it did boot to the lock screen. I would unlock then it would reboot again by itself. I then went down the road of trying to flash stock images, radios, and even cm10. All the stock images failed on flashing CDMA-radio. Cm10 came up but it started boot looping again, baseband was unknown as well as other info under status. As a last resort I tried to Odin 4.0.2 it failed at the very end trying to write (wait for it) CDMA-radio. Now it only boots to a yellow triangle with a phone and computer image on either side. I an not missing anything stupid right? The CDMA radio must be toast.

Probably. Fastboot also fails?
a maguro wrote this.
It certainly sounds like a part of the hardware in the radio has been going bad. Is there any warranty left on it? Not sure if they're transferable since you bought it on eBay, but it's worth a shot to at least ask, either at your store or Samsung. The only other random things you might try is taking the LTE sim out and if you have access a different battery? Since it's failing on CDMA, the sim shouldn't have any effect, but since it's dead, it's worth a shot. Same for the battery. But yeah, sounds dead.

Yeah I can't even get into the boot loader anymore. So adb and fast boot don't work, but Odin still connects and can flash, just gets stuck at the cdma-radio.

I tried flashing with and without the sim. I just got the extended battery too, and also tried with both. Will check on warranty. If not it will be sold for parts on eBay. Case and screen are in perfect shape.

Thanks! It was absolutely the cdma radio that died. The replacement came with CM10.1 RC4 but decided to flash it back to jdq39 stock. It flashed without problem using the same USB cable, computer and drivers. It seemed like hours when I flashed the cdma radio but in reality it only took a few minutes, but was very relived when it finished successfully. I figure I am just going to keep the other parts in case I need them.
Yesterday I dropped my phone, and busted up the screen, and the digitizer, I believe its called... The touch screen no longer responds, but the phone still works, can receive calls etc.
If I choose to replace it through insurance or something like that, they will charge me full price if I sent back a rooted phone correct?
Just trying to way my options... one thread talks about going through ATT's Device Support Center, which maybe the cheapest route.
Any suggestions on getting this baby unrooted without a functional screen/?

Well since you have insurance then just pay the deductible! It's not FULL price tho! Think it's like$125/150 and they'll send you out a new one!! Just tell em it fell broke apart. I don't think they'll want to to send in a busted up phone!!
That is what I did when I broke my phone. Plus it's like 2 day turn around for them too get you the phone..

Without touch screen or visual screen interactions. ..unroot is not possible...
You need screen touch to run triangle away. .
But I think you can get both changed by a repair shop for about $250..
And they don't care about root. .
That sucks. ..very sorry. ..g

I have problems with my bluetooth headphones. It will connect and I can hear music for about 1 minute then it stops, my phone becomes unresponsive then it will usually reboot but get stuck. I usually have to pull the battery to restart.
I'm curious if there is something that I have flashed in the past to cause this.
The headphones work fine on my wifes 4g touch and my galaxy tablet as well.
I've even unrooted and went back to stock but still no luck.

Make sure all the screws in the back of the phone are very tight. If one is loose you may have a bad antenna connection.
I checked all the screws, they are all tight.

I'm wondering if I were to switch the motherboard out with a phone that has a bad ESN will that affect this phone?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
The ESN follows the board unless you were to do that which we do not talk about on this board...
Hint
Hint.
Interesting, I didnt have that in mind, but may be worth a try. I saw some cheap S2's on ebay with bad ESN's. I'm just interested in getting my bluetooth working. I removed my motherboard last night just to see if I could see anything work visually. I already sent my phone to Samsung but they said it was OOW for having a cracked screen. The wanted to charge $160 to fix it.

You can get used E4GTs all day long for under $100 in good condition on Craigslist where I am. I usually see them running $50-$75, but I paid $30 for the last one I bought.
I would suggest buying a new one, and selling the defective one on eBay for parts. If the shell is in fair condition someone will buy it.
The other option, if you are not under contract, is to consider an upgrade to the s4. I have seen some $0-$50 prices so far this holiday season.
