Hey everyone. I'm running MIUI (latest version) and I recently downgraded my radio to 7.28, as it has given me better signal than 9.01, which I was on. I've been trying to get everything situated with a *228, but whenever I dial it, I'm greeted with "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT: Turns out, you need to dial *228+. I'll leave this here in case anyone runs into the same problem.
Or you can try *22899
I always have to use that because with cyanogen I can't get the dialpad to pop up to press 1 or whatever to program my phone, the 99 at the end automatically does it for ya.
Never heard of having to add a + sign after *228 though. Didn't even know you could do that.
It did the same thing for both. I found that adding the + after *228, then pressing 1 when prompted did the trick. Not sure why in the world the + made a difference, but it works!
Change the thread title and put something like [Solved] in there so people can search for this.

Hi everyone,
I am having a very strange issue which is really making me sorry I got this phone...
No matter what ROM I use (have tried Energy, Valkyrie, and AtomAng's AT&T version), most of the time the phone will cease to take calls (won't ring or indicate it is being called at all), and if I try to dial out, the phone dialer interface will "hang" in "Dialing... " and hitting the END red key only grays it out and then I have to SR the phone to be able to use it for a while more....
Any help or ideas highly appreciated (BTW, I did search but found no indications anyone might be having the same issues)
Thanks!

I have always had this issue. On my Tilt as well as my Tilt 2. I had it happen on stock as well. I never found an answer. Actually, I never looked. The times it happens for me is when the phone is changing signals. Going from 3G/H to G or E. ATT said that all 3 signal were at the same level in my area. My phone jumps signals all day.
Love my epic, but I've been having problems for a month or more now. Not sure which section this belongs in, but I'm posting it here because I'm looking for answers.
Problem 1-
Phone randomly enters "car mode", doesn't always give me the option to disable it and even when it does, if I click disable it often stays in car mode (all calls go to speakerphone, phone won't rotate). The problem has followed me through 3 ROMs and now to 100% stock, nonrooted gingerbread pushed from sprint. Is there anyway to uninstall this "feature"? I've done some searching but haven't found a solid answer. Its gotten bad enough that now, during a phone call, it will enter and leave car mode multiple times. Enabling and disabling speakerphone during the call.
Problem 2-
For awhile my phone was force closing Everything. Things like "Android Core System Process" and "Google Framework Services" along with any app I attempted to launch. It started while I was running ViperRom(most recent release) and kinda came and went. Would be ok for awhile after I restored from my initial backup. Finally became unlivable so I tried the SyndicateRom(with genocid kernel) and the problem continued to come and go. Finally got to the point that a brand new install of syndicate, after full system wipe wouldn't fix it so I returned to 100% stock and it hasn't come back yet. I imagine it could be corrupt system ram? But I couldn't find a ram tester. Id really like to go back to Syndicate, so any help would be nice.
Thank you

x2 with problem #2 here. wiped and reflashed srf 1.2 3 times now in the past 2 months and eventually the "Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps)" force close message comes back.
WTF?
#1 iis baffling , for #2 you've probably already tried this but "fixing" permissions.usually does the trick with FC's. Good Luck
First off I want to thank everyone who for there help on here. Yesterday I was able to root my phone and install CyanogenMod 7 Self-Kang #2. Everything was running fine until I got a call. I answered it and the caller couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear him. So I called back and my phone seems to have dialed. It showed that it was connected but again I couldn't hear anything. I then hit the speakerphone button, it didn't light after a couple of second I get a message.
Sorry
Activity Phone (in process com.android.phone) is not responding.
[force close] [wait]
Anyone have any experience with this?
everyone knows i did they say turn on gps and reboot didnt work with me i just went to juggernut
Anybody else having since upgrading where when you call someplace that has a message system where you have to enter digits to go through a menu and when someone does answer, it continues beeping and it's impossible to carry on a conversion. Been a problem eveer since I upgrade to the new rom, 4.0.4. I even tried using a different dialer application, but it still happens.
I'm getting tired of it, wifi disconnects and reconnects or flat out doesn't work, mobile data flat out doesn't work most times unless I reboot the phone for either of them to work. I'm rebooting about 4-5 times a day just to get either working. I'm at my wit's end and about to get rid of this thing as soon as I can.
I generally love this phone, but I'm seeing similar issues. WiFi says connected, but I don't get any data. I thought it was my network at first, but noticed other devices working. Tested network while my phone was acting like this, and my WiFi and network were working great.
Separately, my phone sometimes won't dial out. I use Google Voice, so I'm not sure if it's the phone or Google that's not working, but it's very frustrating. The dial screen comes up, then immediately disappears. No errors or anything to indicate that it ran into problems. The dial screen just flashes. Rebooting seems to fix that. But all very frustrating. Especially when I'm trying to call someone while driving. I don't want to have to look at the screen. I want to be able to tell the phone to call and know it's going to do it. Instead, I tell it to call, it confirms it will call, then nothing.
