Are there any free rom kitchens around for the dhd?
I need a rom with the following:
-No sense apps at all.
-Sense-style black taskbar.
-No gtalk, tts, location stuff.

Hi
I'm wondering whether there would be a hack so that Apps icons are showing without any label underneath (as it is the case for widgets). I'm looking for this feature for Froyo+Sense rom on my Desire?
Thx

this is one of the settings in ADW launcher. I think launcher pro allows that as well.
If you have one of the CM ROMs, you should already be able to do this (i don;t use CM roms, so i can;t tell you how to).
If not, you can download ADW launcher from the market and that will allow you to do it, along with all the theming as well.
Thx
I'll give it a try
Hi,
I'm new to the whole root thing and just rooted and installed Oxygen v2.0-RC7. I'm verry happy with it, its awesome!
Now i like to experiment with the themes and dockbars used in the rom.
my question: Is there a way to change the dockbar in the rom without using any third party apps like adwlauncher, launcherpro or zeamlaucher (because Oxygen v2.0-RC7 is now launcher2). i don't like the standard: phone - appdrawer - browser setup.
Just being able to add messages and gmail to the dockbar would be great for now, but is this possible using only stock Oxygen v2.0-RC7 or do I need more custom apps (which then slow, use more battery then stock ? or is this usage not relevant?) ?
Thanks in advance!
You would have to edit the launcher2 app to change the dockbar. But a much easier approach to it would be to install ADWLauncher or LauncherPro or another launcher. But as for apps using resources. Apps will stop running after a certain period of time because that is how Android was built.
hey
i'm using a htc desire, and the widges that i download from the market don't show up in the widget menu.
the only widgets that are there, are the "standart widges" and two exceptions (silent toggle widget and torch) all others that i download wont show up
please help
using gingervillain (current version 1.9)
Don't force widgets to the SD, they need to be on the internal memory to work.
Is there a 2.3 otA that has been rooted and debloated? Thank you
Try the Incredibly Debloated ROM by lefty here.
There's also RMK's debloated version (which I believe Lefty's is based on) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161411
I've been running this and it's great - no issues whatsoever.
And if you don't use Sense (and therefore can't use any of the Sense widgets), I made an even more debloated version of this (RMK's rom). Think of it as sort of a SuperClean version. I removed the following:
*ALL* widgets
Skin Picker
Wood skin
Metal skin
Slate skin
HTC Wallpapers
Mode 10 Wallpapers
Image Wallpaper
Magic Smoke Wallpapers
Weather Wallpaper
Live Wallpaper Picker
Adobe Flash installer
Rosie (the Sense launcher)
Quick Office
Footprints
Mail
GReader
Stocks
Friend Stream
Flickr
Protips
Instant Messaging
Twitter
Facebook
Connected Media
Weather (including the associated apks)
Visual Voicemail (although VVM still shows up in the app drawer as part of the SMS app)
All extra wallpapers, skin and bookmark thumbnails
The launcher has been replaced with the free market version of ADW, which itself can be removed once you install your launcher of choice.
I was just tired of removing all this stuff after flashing the ROM. You can add in any of these by downloading RMK's original rom and manually coping the desired APK's into /system/app. If/when I have time, I may look into some subtle interface tweaks (expanded reboot menu, things like that), but for now, it's just RMK's rom with all that stuff removed.

I just swapped from HighOnAndroid, a TouchWiz based ROM, to JellyBam 7.4. I really like the customization of JellyBam, but there are a number of system apps that I really don't like, the Clock app, Calendar app, Messenger app, Contacts app, and Phone app. I love the look and feel of the TouchWiz versions of all of those apps. The JellyBam Clock has none of the features of TW clock, the TW calendar has a nice appearance, and i work outside at night, so the white text on black used in the TW Contacts and Messenger apps is perfect. Actually the Messenger app uses the colored balloons on a black background, which i really like.
Where can i find these apps, and can someone explain to me an elementary and simple way to install them? I have a copy of the Clock app, but it wont install. I've tried drag and drop, overwrite, etc. The phone won't let me do anything with the default clock app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Jellybam roms are banned from xda so you will not find any support on this.
Also
TW based applications don't function on AOSP roms without the TW interface.
