I was on BCnice20's GingerBread rom beta2 and i flashed the bcblend cfs stable kernel(sbc for bc) found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876590 on top of it to fix the wifi issue but only caused more problems. wifi will not stay connected for more than 7 seconds without disconnecting then re-connecting. so i got tired of it and wiped everything and went to fresh's new ROM. problem is, wifi is still acting the same. its a constant loop of connecting and disconnecting. any thoughts?
I not sure what it is it might be the kernel try switching kernels or something like a stock kernel and did you wipe everything like twice see if that helps

it will since that should restore you to the exact state hopefully of a known good setup. from there you can check stuff out, but at the minimum check to make sure your not having issues

I searched around a lot and could only find fixes for this on the original dinc so here I am.
I just rooted, used s-off revolutionary tool and SU zip to root. Everything was fine, then I flashed CM7 and I completely lost 3G service... I have signal, just not 3g. I tried to *228 for activation but it doesnt work. I also thought maybe wiping everything several times and doing a reflash would help so I flashed virtuous unity and still no 3G. Tried factory reset multiple times... nada.
Any ideas?

Any fix for this? thanks.

just tried this, doesn't work on my phone.
Only thing that works is a reboot which is a hassle everytime i need a GPS lock.
anyone else w/ any suggestions? I'd hate to go back to stock ROM.
Doesn't the GPS continue to work for a few days, before requiring a reboot?
Thats the case with my phone, try different versions of the rooted rom, or radios.

THanks. upon reading a bit of that thread, I found out that through using "GPS Status" I can refresh the "A-GPS" which I didn't know previously.
This seems to work so far.
I'm running the same rom and have no problems with any of my radios, I did also install the EL29 modem when I installed the rom. You may need to try different modems, they work differently on different phones even though you're running the same roms. Also, don't forget to update profile in /settings/about phone/updates

I was originally on EL29 Stock so I'm assuming when I flashed Calks 2.9.2 the modem's the same.
Is there a link where all the modem's can be found? and can I flash any modem?

Flashed the FB21 Modem and this one looks like a winner!
I'm getting instant GPS locks w/o resetting, rebooting, opening an app etc etc.
On top of that, my 3G/4G speeds have increased!

That's very good.
You may want to test drive the fb12 just for the hell of it. I've gotten 9, 12, & 13mbps.
I did get my 1st failed GPS, but it locked shortly after.

I tried the fc05 got 13 then 4G started to sleep in the middle of things. The trick is to find "the one" that's stable and everything works. I'm gonna try the others and see how they work. But I know that this one works for my phone.

Update if anyone's interested: FB21 modem w/ EL29 Kernel was good but still had GPS locking issues. I was getting roughly 85% locks (which isn't bad since I test often). FAST download speeds though.
So this got me thinking: When my phone was stock, GPS worked brilliantly. It wasn't until I installed a custom rom that it started to have problems. The difference was the kernel and modems.
So now I flashed back to EK02 modem and kernel (still running Calks 2.9.2) and my GPS has been locking 100% of the time. PLUS my phone is silky smoooooth!
Crossing my fingers that this will last....
Ok so I am freaking out. After I flashed Darkside mode on my GS2 i wasn't able to sends texts but i could surf the web. then i changed to mod to juggernaut and now i have the circle with a line indicating that i dont have mobile network. what the hell can i do!!?

I love flashing ROMS.
It's been a very poor experience with samsung devices though.
Only reason I switched ROM was because it was shutting off when I took pictures with the DarkSide rom.
Then only my DATA worked and then no network whatsoever
I already tried swapping my SIM into another phone and my sim is fine
I even tried someone else's sim to my phone and it still doesnt read it.
Right now i am about to try going back to factory settings using this method
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/16727-howto-restore-stock-rom-recover-bad-flashes/
so it sounds like it is a common problem . however now it reads the sim but i get the error "your sim does not allow connection to this network." keep in mind it was working earlier today. any other suggestions before i pull this turd on ebay?
Just saying that I had no data Connection switching to Tuesday. Ended up wipeing cache, dalvik, and fixing permissions once more solved the issue.

Sounds like u need to reflash your radio and flash your rom again...
But b4 that, do a factory reset
Your phone is STOCK now. The ROM, KERNEL, MODEM and BOOT LOADER are all replaced with this method and ROOT access is removed. Your personal data and apps are still on the phone though. You will probably want to clean this up before returning the phone.
The ODIN restore i did says i should be completely back to stock. still not working.
such a damn shame, i kinda liked this phone. im porbably out $80 on this garbage.
1. did you wipe all your ****? and fix permissions?
2. is this a CL or ebay phone?

I reflashed the radios and my 4g came back. Ill update if it reverts back
Service lost
So I flashed the new radio and bootloader. Worked for awhile till about an hour ago everything cut out and its not working at all. I have no idea what is going on. So I re-flashed old radios, seeing if that worked still didn't. So I did a complete factory reset and wiped everything. Seeing if that fixed anything. Going to update tomorrow. Please give me some updates.
Phone was working fine and I went to switch to airplane mode. All of a sudden it rebooted itself and got stuck on the spinning CM startup screen cirlce, I let it sit for about 10 minutes and never booted. Only option was a battery pull and after doing that I tried starting it up again and same thing, it sat at the spinning CM cirlce for about 10 minutes. Went into recovery and restored a nandroid from a few weeks ago that I know was working well and after start up it still got stuck at the spinning CM startup cirlce.
Before this issue the screen would dim after about 7 seconds while on the spinning CM cirlce then start up. Interesting thing I noticed is every time it would get stuck on the spinning CM startup circle the color never dimmed like usual to indicate the Nitest kernel kicked in. Any ideas on what to do besides odin back to fc09 and re-root? I'm at work right now so can't odin. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Try wiping everything in recovery, then restore your backup.

I'm having a similar problem; I'm way too ignorant to diagnose such problems using logs, so I have to resort to options that do not involve comprehension of Android. I'm running SlimBean 2.1; for the first few days it was brilliant, the best ROM I've tried yet. Then it got stuck in boot-up. I tried popping the battery, reflashing the ROM, wiping the three memory caches and reflashing the ROM, and met with minimal success. Sometimes it would boot, but usually it locked up first.
At a loss for what to try next, I popped out my microSD card and it booted fine. I then put the card in while the phone was running. Again, no problems yet. So now I'm backing up the card and I plan to reformat it and then see if the phone can reliably boot with it in. If so, I'll start re-adding data to the card from my backup until it stops being reliable again.
I'm posting these comments on the off chance that someone else is having these problems and reflashing the ROM doesn't help them.

Try wiping data, cache, dalvik cache, and format system then install the rom. If that doesn't work then you may need to delete the boot animation and I can walk you through how to do that but try wiping all 4 and flashing the rom first.

It's not too bad. Just gets a bit sluggish if there's too many apps in the multi-task list. I went into the performance settings and made it attempt to keep 100mb of RAM free at all times. Doesn't really keep all 100 free, it just keeps about 40-60 free. Also Bluetooth is flakey like any other 4.2.2 rom. (But i just remembered you don't use it.) Other than Bluetooth being flakey, it's a pretty stable DD. I was thinking about updating to v22.0.1 though. Or maybe i just might go back to v18 where Bluetooth works lol.
