Many people have been asking me how to get the combination of the stock Android 2.2.1 ROM, XWJS3 with the CSC and modem from the Asian DXJPE rom.
I decided to put up this procedure and downloads for those who want to try it.
I assume that you already know how to use Odin.
1. Download the XWJS3 PDA file, this file includes the SpeedMod K12P kernel already.
>>> DOWNLOAD LINK.
2. Download the DXJPB modem file below, and extract the .tar file inside the .7z file (DXJPB modem is from the DXJPE rom).
3. Flash the XWJS3 PDA tar as PDA using Odin, and DXJPB modem tar as MODEM.
No re-partition, no PIT.
4. Now you should get XWJS3 PDA and DXJPB modem, but no CSC.
5. Download the file below - it is a 7zip file that contains update-csc-olbjpa-xsp.zip. Extract the file update-csc-olbjpa-xsp.zip and put that in your internal SD card.
6. Reboot into the CWM Recovery and choose "Install ZIP, choose zip", then choose the update-csc-olbjpa-xsp.zip file above.
7. Now reboot your phone again and you should have the OLBJPA CSC with the XSP sales code selected.
----- About the CSC -----
The attached update-csc zip file contains a modified XSP sales code which has the APNs and MMS settings for all operators in the OLBJPA CSC - so that's all operators in Southeast Asia. I made this for my own convenience as I swap SIM cards from several countries a lot, but I figured it will be useful for most people living in SEA.
Reserved for future use.
Any possibility to have the native locale as SEA instead of Euro based?
just what i was looking for. nice one hardcore!
I got Force Close after lagfix, it seems only happen to I9000XWJS3 - "the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. please try again" any idea?
P.S: It works fine if only "Root", happen like this after lagfix has been done, I had tried to wipe all, reflash rom etc, it still happen same. has flash back to I9000DXJPE...
haha.. this is what im asking! thanks!
Thank u very much, Hardcore.
I've posted sometime ago in your Speedmode thread to ask u if u mind to share your rom, modem and csc. Finally... Happy to see this.
Hi Hardcore ,
would you add JPJPG modem to XWJS3 ? I think this is the way that lead us to have persian/arabic support on this rom...
Thanks a lot.
maybe u should format your internal memory card

@hardcore
Thanks for the rom - works great.
I seem to have a problem now with text messages not being correct.
Ex: Should say Power Off on menu, but says Sound is On.
My csc version says unknown.
Any ideas?

Yeah, but I prefer keep XWJS5 with JPU modem and speedmod-kernel-13c, which work like a charm and surely is "newer" and better than RSJS2 IMHO

Built date. XWJS5 has a newer build date. I means that RSJS2 was built much earlier than XWJS5 but the latter was released first.

It's not a good idea to mess with bootloaders, especially boot.bin
If boot.bin is corrupter/flash fails you have a completely bricked phone, not even a jig will save it.
sbl.bin is less risky, since if you have an intact primary bootloader (boot.bin) you can jig your way out. I think you should remove boot.bin from your package, since only the sbl.bin from JV1 is needed for to work anyway

... moreover mangling with a different GSM_NATION_CODE (XW vs. RS)
If you actually want flash with PIT (512) and Re-partition, it would much better to build a 4-file CODE.tar only (ok for your empty dbdata.rfs), without boot & sbl binaries.

Seems like zipped file you have downloaded is corrupted. Try to download S8500XPKG5 from samfirmware, there is zipped FW with multiloader v5.65. It could be corrupted csc file or multiloader problem.
Best regards
The stock JW4 released recently with 364MB RAM.
This is Deodexed and rooted.
Please follow the steps for root and RTL fix.
1. Flash Deodexed JW4 (link below) using Odin (link below).
2. Power off the phone and go into download mode and flash the kernel (link below) using ODIN for root and to install RTL.
3. Transfer the RTL fix (link below) file to internal SD and reboot to recovery.
4. Flash RTL fix file from recovery and reboot the phone to have RTL fix working flawlessly.
If you get Force Close on your applications then Wipe Data and Cache to make it fix.
NOTE: You need to install a different keyboard like Swiftkey X to type RTL languages.
Links:
1. 2.3.6 Deodexed JW4 7z EXE 147MB OR 2.3.6 Deodexed JW4 RAR 157MB = Both are same, just different compression methods.
2. ODIN with 512 pit
3. JW4 Root Kernel
4. RTL fix

No offense, but it's hightly suspicioous to post an EXE file (i.e. Can be a VIRUS, or something that could do whatever to your computer) from a user that has only 8 posts in this forum, and been confirmed by someone with 17 posts...
Please change the file format to RAR, ZIP, like everybody else.
It is a self extracting compressed file containing the tar file compressed with 7z.
RAR uploaded.
thanks man

Hi Rivalbro,
This is the first time i will upgrade from froyo to GB. I will try this anyway, so wish me luck...tx a lot
Edit:
this is for my other gadget ... the i9000, not the Leo...
is it a one file flashing rom? i suppose it goes in PDA field, right (havent used odin for a long time)? is the extension .tar.md5 good? i remember that all files i have flashed had only .tar ... sorry for this noobish questions , i am a bit "rusty"
is this ROM with the value pack?
help
Hi,
I just flashed my i9000 according your instruction. I put rom on bootloader field (right?), turn off, enter downloading, put kernel in bootloader field again, enter CMW and install fix RTL. But i hav galaxy looping right now. please help...
thanks
Hi, sorry for answering so late, had no internet...
You need to select the tar.md5 in PDA, not bootloader. The kernel as well.
It is the value pack version with Touchwiz 4 like the Galaxy S2.

RTL is a fix for "Right To Left" reading languages like arabic, urdu. No need to worry if you don't use RTL type languages.

1. No, when you flash a stock rom to your phone using ODIN your phone will no longer have root access. so you have to root it again.
2. Try XXLM8. it has Portuguese in it.
