awesome, thanks alot!
Would this be valid for the newer EVOs (Hardware 0004, hboot 2.10)? I flashed one of netarchy's kernels, but would like to have the stock on file, just in case.

[Q] rooted ota_bravo_HTC_eu_2.10 available yet?

Hi,
Is there a rooted version of ota_bravo_HTC_eu_2.10.405.2-2.09.405.8....zip available yet? I dont want to have to completely reflash my phone and was hoping i could just install this one via the recovery console like i have all previous ones
Thanks
anyone know about this?
Don't think there's just an update ZIP, there's a pre-rooted full ROM which shouldn't require wiping but I'd always say wipe before changing ROMs to be on the safe side
thanks for this? you have a link? When i search all i get is either the prerelease version or the standard HTC download for it...or random custom modded roms. All i want is the standard rom with the update. Thanks
my personal preference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773997
I got the ROM with init.d Support. Then I updated with flash & update package. It saves me quite some space.

[Q] HELP! Problem flashing OC kernel

Hello,
I am running a permanently rooted G2 with the stock rom post the 11/03 update.
I'd like to keep my stock rom - but I want to flash a new over-clocking kernel in order to overclock the processor using SetCPU. When I attempted to flash the Pershoot Kernel for Froyo in ROM Manager, I ran into a boot loop after flashing, which I recovered from with clockworkmod.
Any advice as to how I can flash a working over-clocking kernel onto my stock rom? Did I do incorrectly use ROM Manager for flashing that kernel?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! You guys rock!
Thanks,
captainreynolds (Yes, from Firefly & Serenity )
*Bump*
Anyone? Really could use some help here. I tried using coolbho3's temporary flash (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813681), and it worked a few times, but now when I try and set it to 1420 Mhz, the phone freezes up.
He mentions that
If there's ever an OTA or if you flash a custom kernel, you'll need a recompiled version of the kernel module, and with different addresses. Any kernel dev can easily do this using the documentation below.

Please help! Thank you!
baconbits is probably the most popular overclocking kernel for stock roms.
give it a shot!
I'll try it out right now! Thanks for your help - also, I've read some of your help to others in other threads that has helped me - thanks for that too! haha
UPDATE:
Worked like a charm. No issues so far. Thanks for the help mate!

Hey how's it going? I just perm rooted my g2 as well. I want to keep my stock rom like you and just over clock it. Thanks to your question and pmcqueen's answer I'll try baconbits's kernel too. What speeds are you getting? And any difference with battery life?
Thank you both!

rzm007,
I tried baconbits, but I ran into some flickering issues when I tried to turn off the screen - flickering issues so bad the screen wouldn't turn off.
So, I tried flashing Pershoot's latest kernel - and now I have no problems! And, I can overclock to 1.5 gHz. Awesome. The link to Pershoot's thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847672.
I had boot looping problems when I tried to flash Pershoot's Kernel using ROM Manager. I flashed it manually in ClockworkMod Recovery.
Happy with it so far - and Pershoot is continually refreshing it. Cool stuff.
ALSO. I love Android. And XDA. Bought the XDA app today: good investment.
captainreynolds,
Appreciate the update on your status and link! I haven't had any issues yet with bacon bits. I'm using cpu tuner off the market as well.
Let me know if pershoot continues to work out for you. Good luck!
I'm thinking about flashing a rom that's as close to stock 2.3 as possible too. Need to do some more reading first.
(yup, I'm really lovin' xda and the android community)

[Q] Has Anyone Who Used RC5 Had Boot Loop Problems

The Dev Dropzeroc Tld Me I Should Flash A New Kernel But I Dnt Usually Flash Kernels, Can Someone Help Me Pick The Right One?
Im Trying To Use RC5
let us know what kind of rom it is and you will probably get some more input just trying to help. many of us have opinions we are more than willing to share
I am on RC5 at the moment but have not experienced any boot loops. If you would like to flash a new kernel, ChopSuey is a good one; however, it will break the Beats functionality of the rom. If interested in trying, download the .zip file and flash in recovery. Make sure you nandroid beforehand in case you need to revert the flash. Any additional questions, let me know. Here's a link to the thread with the information:

Make sure you flash the kernal right after the from to assure you will boot... I believe you are trying to do this because your hboot is not compatible with the anthrax kernal...
