[Q] CM6.1.1 Market App Sync - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I disable this? I don't want to download all my apps that I've downloaded in the past. Titanium backup works perfectly for me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Cannot install apps after sprite backup?

Hey
Well I'm using the latest version of the energy ROM on my TP2, whhich i just updated to. Before I upgraded, I used sprite backup to backup all my apps etc. When I come to restore the backup, everything works fine, all my apps and settings etc are there, but when I try installing a new CAB. it just says unsuccessful -.-
Anbody know why? Is it a specific file causing this? how to fix it?
Thanks, Chris

How to make an Application zip file

I tried searching, but I guess that I am not phrasing what I need correctly. I am bouncing from ROM to ROM trying to find that perfect one. The problem is with each new ROM I have to go through the tedious task of re-installing all of my favorite apps and setups. Is there a way that I can back up the apps and install in whatever new ROM that I choose? I think that I tried just a simple "back-up" apps option on the phone, but the problem was that the apps seem to not have a connection with the market anymore...meaning no updates. Any help or link would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's called AppBrain.
Titanium Backup does just this. Just don't use it to blindly restore all your settings if the backup was made on a different ROM than the one you're restoring to, or you're likely to have issues.
Sent from my HummerPhone using the XDA App
Thanks, I will try Appbrain now. I have Titanium too... I will see which one works out best.
a trick for TB is if you hit more there is a market doctor which will fix a lot of the market problems when restoring apps.

Installing Apps

hi, ive just installed a new Rom, Woop Woop.
however i now want to have all the apps i had before.
i got the .apk files.
i tried using titanium backup, but it wouldnt back upp all my apps? only some of them
so im just wondering is their an app that would install them in one go?
i know windows mobile has one, but cant find one for dhd...
any help much appreciated
thanks
Sometimes my google account does that for me, by restoring apps. I usually just redownload them. If you want to backup, I've always used MyBackupPro, just because it's simple.
The apk Files you can install Manual....i use titanium Backup the normal Version abs it works to.before flashing have to Do a Backup of all data and after flashing you restore them...thats all
If you just reinstall from APK I dont think they will be linked to marked and you will not be able to recieve updates.

[Q] Titanium Backup and Google Play store - problem

Not finding an answer to this one so posting. I know there is an issue - I saw the update notes in TB. TB just freezes part way through backing up.
However, what I don't know is if there is a workaround. At the moment I cannot get a TB backup at all, so I can't flash a rom.
Anyone know a way around this??
what the error?
TB should be able to do a backup independently from the new play store, it has problem only if u want unlink some apps from the market

Hmm, that is news to me. The problem is just that TB freezes part way through doing a backup. Doesn't show an error - just sits in notification bar doing nothing. Have to reboot to get rid of it.
<<edit>> TB also keeps freezing just when I try to scroll through its menus. Just removed and reinstalled it but still the same.
Well did a bit more searching and found this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567118 .
Works. Just clear data for google play store app.
Thank christ that's fixed.
Try MyBackup Pro that should not freeze and does everything you need. Or MyBackup Root, that's free!

Uninstalled google search on stock rooted Rom - now having issues - help!

Hey everyone,
I uninstalled Google Search (google now) because I couldn't click on any of the settings on my stock, s-off, rooted and unlocked rom with flar2's kernel. I had a titanium backup of it, but restoring just the backup without any of the data did not work. Nor did restoring the app+data.
I reinstalled the application on the play store, but now I am having force close issues when I try to open it from anywhere. I know the original name of the application on our phones is Velvet.apk, but I can't recall if it was in system/app or system/priv-app. Does anyone know? If you could look and tell me, I would put the titanium backup apk into that folder and then install from there to see if that fixes the problem.
Please please please help! Google now is a huge part of my phone experience. It's really annoying because even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the play store, I still could not click on any settings. So stupid.
