I thought the same thing when I purchased my trident case, now 2 weeks later I am wishing I held out for an otterbox.
I feel like the case does not offer much protection for the amount of bulk it adds considering I had to remove the screen protector in order to be able to use the whole keyboard in portrait mode.
I will be buying an Otterbox when they come out.

Same here. The Trident case would be perfect if the screen protector was better. It scratches easily. I am going to remove the built in protectector and put one of my Realook protectors on.
As far as Otterbox...I'm disappointed that they waited so long to do this. Most of us have had the Vibrant since this summer. I have a Case-Mate & Trident. Now I'm wondering if I even need the otterbox (even though it DOES look sweet!).

Yea, I mean ... it's not a big deal that it has a small little hole for the FFC.
Also, if you look at the case for the Galaxy S and Vibrant, they look identical. Maybe because since it's not available yet they just used the same picture of the case to give us an idea of what it'll look like .

It looks as tho it may just be a separate screen protector they are talking about. Because in the pics they show of it , it doesn't appear to have on attached to the case itself

Just purchased..will submit a review when it gets here some time next year...im currently using the body glove case...nice case..but i have dropped it twice and the whole thing fell apart, damaging the phone..whats the point of a case if it cant take damage? i wouldve much rather spend the 30 bux on something like this otterbox if it was available at the time..Cheers all!

Took less than 10 seconds to open a new tab, type "otterbox" into siad new tab's address bar, hit ctrl+enter, then select Samsung, and then Vibrant from their dropdown menu and view the item of your desire. I would have posted the link, but since this is only my 3rd post I am not allowed to. Have fun storming the castle!

I thought I'd share this. The Case-Mate Pop! is a perfect fit. Phone is snug and feels really good to the touch. It's a little steep price-wise but cheaper if you break your phone.
UPDATE: Just 3 days later.... prolly gonna wait another week or so before returning.
Nice case. No digging the orange peel effect of the screen protector.
i liked mine the first week i got it too, now the silicon is starting to look all messed up.

File a RMA request, they will let you return it for a refund (I did). Same issue as you, the rubber on it started looking pretty ratty, and for the price, it definitely shouldn't have. Got hairline cracks all around the corners, and the damn power button press-problem as well.

Everytime someone posts a pic of this stupid case I have to fight the impulse demons.
If I had taken a picture of what the rubber around the front of the phone looks like after a few weeks, you'd not have to anymore..

There were no questions asked when I asked for an rma. I shipped it to them, and they received it on the same day they released the Barely There. I asked if I could get one of those in place of a refund, but haven't heard back yet...

My flaws were in the EXACT same places, even the big chunk that came out at the volume buttons. It's got to be something in the molding process, or it wouldn't have that big flaw there at the volume button. I noticed that on the 2nd day after I got it, and it just got worse as time went on.
Just got notification that they are sending me the barely there in place of a refund (at my request). Hopefully it'll fit the bill..

Yea, I was about to pull the trigger on getting the case-mate. But you cant compare that quality to Otterbox. They are the best.

I've actually spoken with Customer Service and a product manager over at Otterbox. They said they know for sure it will release this summer. They also said that normally after a product hits their site, they see a 4-6 week delay until the product is actually sold to the public. I remember back when the iPhone 4 cases were to be releases, it was about a 6 week or so delay. They just want to make sure they have enough stock for the first wave and that they don't run out and cause big back orders as it will be hard to catch up. Most importantly, they have other cases to supply as well and I am pretty sure they order from one or two factories in china as all of the cases are shipped from there. So they can only make some many cases at a time. Please be patient... I know that I myself cannot wait. Dont get a case-mate. It wont compare to otterbox.

Yes, no problem getting them on and off. My other half has a commuter on her Blackberry and I had a defender for mine a few years back

The way I see it is that their defender series cases are a bit of a pain to put on and remove but for commuter series, once you understand that they wont break it takes seconds to remove and if it ever cracks even due to a drop, otterbox will replace them for free which is why they rock

Yea.. If you read my previous post, I said that i spoke with Customer service and a product manager over at otterbox and they said it will launch sometime soon this summer. No specific date but my money is on Mid July or so.

Neo Hybrid and otter box cases are two different beasts entirely.
Neo Hybrid is mainly for looks and very minor protection, overall build quality is very light and not very sturdy. The Otterbox cases are designed to be rugged and able to easily take drops and bums with no damage what so ever.
Using Neo Hybrid myself and yes I think it looks great but offers very little protection and quite worried if I actually dropped it that both case and phone would have a good chance of breaking.

I recently got the phone and wanted to show you guys an alternative holster that i havent seen on here. i have the ballistic and zagg but wanted to get the siedio but it came out the day after i got all this lol but overall im very happy with this setup. The Case is a reiko PH01-XXLBK
Also i got a square trade warranty from the app on the phone for 2 years for 99 and 50 deductible if someone is looking for a good deal on aftermarket warranty.

Where did you get the Ballistic from? Yours looks different than the others I have seen. Specificly the way it covers the phone on the front. The others dont have that little drop down in the upper right-hand corner.
I wish this came in other colors besides all black and I'd definitely buy it. With this case, is it still feasible for in and out of pocket maneuvering ??

The only ballastic case made for our phones has that dip that you are talking about. Its in the pics of the full review I gave of the case which is also posted on this forum.

i went to one of those universal shops in the mall and had them order it for me. it was like 15 bucks. works great.
Those are some of the ugliest cases with the corners...I mean I guess that ads alot shock absorbent but I can't get past how awkward it looks to try it out

Can the owners comment how much extra thickness does it add to the note?
From the pictures it looks like it will add more thickness than a TPU silicone case.
And how soft are the insides against the phone? No point having a protective cover that leaves a permanent dent on the unit. Thanks in advance
I would advise against the white colour, because over time it will absorb the colour of your jeans/bad etc etc.
The black and Cyan is a good combo, it reminds me of ICS and CyanogenMod. Plus the black will fit nicely with a locked screen + bezel.
I don't think they were specially contructed like the Otterbox (those things take a beating), but it looks quite protective. However its so thick that I wont be getting it as it wont fit in my pockets anymore.
I've already bought the Black&Gray TPU-Silicon case (with kickstand) and I'll post my impressions when I get some "hands on"
