[Q] Wifi Connoection successful with WPA2 enterprise, but no Internet connection - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey All
I recently am having some issues connecting to a WPA2 Eneterprise wireless network after the recent (Nov) OTA update being applied to my current rom. I can connect to the network itself, but once successfully connected, I have no Internet connection. This is a school network that I have had no problems with in the past, successfully connecting with my Eris and Incredible before the update using Wifi Advanced Configuration Editor. I have internet on other devices at the same time (laptop, ipad, etc) I have been in touch with IT here and they assure me that nothing has changed with the network recently, but I don't hold much faith in that. Regardless, i figured I would pick your brains here as well, covering all my bases. More specific details of my device below. Thanks for your thoughts.

Wi-Fi Connectivity Problem

Hi,
I am currently running MoDaCo r21, Froyo on my Desire and I am having a strange Wi-Fi issue.
When I am at home or at my parents, my Desire will connect to the Wireless networks no probs (WPA & WEP respectively), however, when I connect to my work Wireless network (secured with WEP), it obtains an IP address and connects no problem.
However, I cannot actually seem to access any data when I am on the company network?
There are laptops in the building which are connected and my workmate has just got a Samsung Galaxy S, which connects and surfs no problem?
Anyone got any ideas of what I could try?

Comment deleted.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have the exact same prob, but at home.
but mines hit n miss, sometimes runs perfect, sometimes, in-spite of being connected, I get no data.

Internet Connection???

My Tilt 2 has been connecting to my Linksys router with no issues until yesterday. This was even after I flashed a new ROM. It has been painless until I lost my internet connection with AT&T and had to reboot my modem and my router. Since then I have been unable to connect at all. I have other wireless PC's that are connecting to my router with no problems. I have spent a lot of time going over and over the internet wi-fi settings. The phone is picking up the router, but never connects. I do not have any security running so this should not be it.
Any ideas?

[NEO] Strange wifi problem. Connects but no internet.

Hello. I have xperia neo for 1 week. It is great phone and great upgrade from my X8 but i see a strange wifi problem. My firmware is latest version - 4.0.A.2.368.
At my home phone connects fine to my wireless network and everything is stable. I do not see any disconnects, reboots or other problems. My router is linksys wrt320N and i connect at wireless N speed - 72Mbps.
When i try to connect to the wireless N network at my office the phone connects fine but i do not have internet access. I have IP assigned by the router, network is shown as connected but i do not have connectivity. I tried with 3 different browsers and with the market and nothing connects. At the same time i can connect with my laptop to the same network and i have internet. My colleagues with other phones also connect and have internet.
I tried setting static IP address on the phone but this did not help. I read that if i set static IP in router's settings assigned to the mac address of the phone this will help. Unfortunately i can not test this because i do not have access to router's settings. Also at my home i did not make such settings and everything is working fine.
Previously i have seen this problem with my X8 and the same work wifi network but it was not always present. It was present with some custom firmwares and not with others.
If you have any ideas or have seen this problem please help.
Having the same device from Globul I never had such problems for the 2 weeks I'm using it. I had some disconnects but i put the blame on my router.
if you can try changing the wifi channels
I think I've found the issue (by facing by myself)
The version neo is shippe (2.3.2) has a serious bug on AES encription.
Actually only the upgrade to 2.3.3 (no clue about upcoming 2.3.4) can fix the WPA/AES issue.
So the actual solutions are:
or change your wifi securty to WEP, updathe the phone via OTA
or use the Windows Software and update to 2.3.3.
Please note that if you use the Control Power widget it has been removed in 2.3.3
This was my problem when I had just bought my Arc.My phone couldn't surf the internet with my personal wifi network although I tried to use many browsers and also Android market. Then I reset and reinstalled my router, everything works well ^^
Ask your office IT staff to do a simple power cycle on the router and try connecting again. That may solve the problem.

WiFi help

Hi guys,
I have an issue on my HOX. On the stock software I could connect to my work internet but not my home internet. This is my setup at home:
Netgear Router DGN2200 (First router that connects to the dsl): (Let's call this A1)
DHCP enable
No firewall
WPA2 security
Zyxel Repeater (This takes the wifi signal from the above router and boosts the signal. All it does.): (Let's call this A2)
Set up as universal Booster.
No DHCP
No Firewall
Security #1 (this is the connection from the Repeater to the main router (above)): WPA2
Security #2 (this is the Repeater's OWN security to gain access to the router) WPA2
Netgear Router DGN2200 (My router in my house. Doesn't connect to dsl via Telkom.) (Let's call this A3)
DHCP Disabled
No Firewall
Tried all kinds of security lol. Believe Android likes WPA(TKIS) more so it is on that at the moment.
Connects to the Repeater via a normal LAN cable.
NB: When I connect to the router that makes the DSL connection I can browse. If I connect to the repeater or the router(that is actually acting as a switch) then it doesn't work. I still have the same IP, gateway, DNS, ect.
So why doesn't the phone go through the router to the repeater then to the internet? Is there perhaps a setting on the netgear router to not allow a connection IF...
When I use my laptop,pc,HTC Sensation or Blackberry I can connect to either A2 or A3 and it works. It's just the HOX that doesn't. A1 is out of range from my place that's why I have this entire setup.
I did root my HOX and with the HTC CM9 rom it does work. Stock rom and Android Revolution it doesn't (I would like to keep Android Revolution on my phone coz I like sense)
Please help
Gerry
Hi, I have exactly the same problem and HTC email helpline have been of no use - basically they just say it must be the range extenders fault. So, really pleased to find someone else has the same problem!!
My router is a Technicolour TG582n supplied by Plusnet and the range extender is an EdiMax EW-7416APn V2. My One X works perfectly with the router but when I move out of range it connects to the Edimax, says "connected" and "signal strength excellent BUT when I enter a url the green connection indicator bar stays at the left of the screen and nothing happens until it says "timed out".
Of note is the fact that my HTC HD2 ( and my wifes iPhone and iPad) work perfectly with the extender so proving that it must be the One X that is at fault.
I also need help please!
there's several posts about connections that does connect but they can't browse. But that is mostly just one router and they have security issues or DHCP issues.
One thing to mention is all of the network devices are running the same security (changed it now) and also on the same channel and the they are all on a "G" speed. Tried the others but nothing so...
Is your HOX rooted? Have you tried this rom:

That one works but it doesn't have sense

Trouble with WiFi on HSPA+ w/Jellybean

Am running 4.1.1 on HSPA+ and continue to have very poor connectivity issues with Wifi (everywhere, not just in my house). Other than having an unlocked bootloader and being rooted, the device is stock.
My AP in the house is running on Channel 1, and there's no other WiFi that's close to my house. No RF inteference to speak of (e.g. no Microwave's running or 2.4ghz FH devices in vicinity). Right now, am not so close to the AP, but have good singal strength on my device -65dBm. AP is a Linksys WAP54g w/latest firmware available running WPA2 Personal AES. The device may eventually connect, but often it just hangs on "connecting." I've tried to change to WPA2 "mixed" (AES+TKIP) but that doesn't seem to have any impact (still hangs on negotiating). I would just chalk this up to a Linksys issue, but I have had same issues out in public WiFi.
P.S. I was using WiFi Analyzer to manage the connection, and didn't see the message regarding "Poor Internet Connection" and reason for failure. I changed the Advanced Wi-Fi option to deselect that option, and rebooted the device, and then connected OK.
P.S.S. I have a Nexus 7 on same network with no issues (the UI has no option for "Avoid Poor Internet"
