Just letting everyone know that having questioned mobilephonesdirect.co.uk they have confirmed that the only Desires they are shipping are Silver/Graphite.
I have asked them to change the website to advise of this and to email all customers who have pre-ordered already.
They are not getting any Brown ones.
Not sure i want a silver one
Just a heads up, MPD will not deal with any customer service issue after you've taken delivery, they refer you to HTC. I had problems within a week and they wouldn't help me.

Really! I've never even seen or heard of a silver/graphite model. If this is true they'll get a fair few cancellations.

i can second this, after sales are truly rubbish, had an issue with my TP2 when I brought. Only had 10 days and they would not deal with me. Won't buy from these again soley based on there after sales.
Silver/Graphite doesn’t look so bad ? I’m getting one in few weeks.
I called mobilephonesdirect again today and they don't seem to know what's going on.
They advise that they are getting Graphite devices, but searching on-line the only colours I can find are brown or silver.
One of their staff said it would be the silver one and now another has said it is the brown
I did raise my concerns and they advised that if the phone I receive is not the one shown in the picture on their website then I can return it

Good luck with getting that to happen
hmm I have pre-ordered from MPD also and am not that hot on getting a silver one.
edit: looks like MPD are now confirming they are selling brown.
This Dutch website also offers both the Brown/Silver version:

IMO, brown > Silver.

Just received a mail from them that contradicts this. I asked them specifically if they were selling the brown which was the one used on their website, and they said...
"The handset we have depicted on our website is in fact the Brown but we will be selling the Graphite"
"graphite vs Silver" Debate
Guys,
I don't know about you all, but my definition of the colour 'Graphite' is more like a dark charcoal kind of colour instead of something that looks silver/grayish...
HTC itself only defines Silver & Brown (which is same as the hero and that is definetly more black-ish than silver-ish...)
Thus, the 'Graphite' simply must be the 'brown' version in my humble opinion.

omg! I didn't think about this at all! I ordered mine from tre.se, and the confirmation says it's grey! I'm kinda disappointed. The picture on the website is brown, and you never get to choose colour during the ordering process
You have to go all the way in to the full specifications to see the colour.
Well, I'll get used to the grey one I guess....
Apparently there is also a "black" version at amazon :
http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463375513&pf_rd_i=405320
prefer the original color scheme..

This is my opinion too. The supposedly "brown" version doesn't look remotely brown either in any photo. All very confusing. How difficult can it be to choose a phone's colour name based on it's actual colour? I've pre-ordered from MPD and am not too keen on the silver version so hopefully I'm correct in thinking I'll get the one pictured.

Other people have and it doesn't sound like they know themselves. If sent the silver I'd settle for it. If I was buying the phone for it's looks I'd go for the Legend.
I'm thinking about getting one from mpd, was looking getting the payg on vodafone rather than the simfree(~£50 difference). anyone know if it'll be unlocked or not? I recently got the o2 £15/month simplicity for smart phones 12month so not looking at a new contract.
carphone warehouse and it's affilate websites(mobiles.co.uk, e2save etc) sell unlocked handsets, be it on contract or payg. so I was wondering if mpd do the same thing, some one on the ocuk forums said that they emailed asking if the phone was unlocked, but it was regarding the ones on contract so not 100% sure about the payg one.
I am a bit sceptical buying from mpd reading some of the comments on here plus reviews on them from customers on another websit(can't remember the name of the site off the top of my head). have a store like 6miles from me so hopefully they'll be more helpful then the call centre.

I think that picture is an old render from before the final design was decided on. Hence the non-standard colour, and different buttons/optical trackpad.
I don't think a black model exists.
I wouldn't worry.
The default "brown" looks great under normal light, but once you go outside and the sun beams down, the blimming phone looks a salmony pinky colour. I kid you not. My phone turns gay in the sun!!! lol
I cancelled my order from this site after reading a forum with complaints as long as your arm, loads had sent there phones back with issues and took up to 1 month to get them sorted, it seems they have very very bad after sales and i thought its not worth the hassle.
Hi everyone,
Could you tell me some techniques to ensure that whether my HTC Desire HD and Sensation XE are original or not. There is a big difference in price (~$150) between 2 shops and they are recommended by people.
This is my first time in xda-developers. If there is any mistakes or problems, please let me know.
Thanks all in advance,

What do you exactly mean by original?
maybe one is a used phone and one is new?
actually if i go to a local store they would sell a lot of phones for 100-150 dollars more than you can get it for on amazon or ebay (i recommend buying B-products with no display scratches because display is the only thing that is important to be perfect (i use a otterbox anyways) and it comes with 1 year warranty in germany)
my dhd got a cut in the sim-card cover next to the screen. i replaced the cover and the phone looks perfectly new. saved me around 40€ (60-70 dollars) to amazon price and i think about 100-150 dollars on my local electronic markets
Hey Guys,
I am planing on buying a One X and was just wanting to get some suggestions on the best way to get one without the bugs that people have been reporting (yellow screen, flickering screen, etc.) would it be best to get a HT23 or HT24?? Grey or White?? Since I am buying the international version I don't want to fork out the cash and then have debilitating issues with the phone.
Thanks!!

Wait until they solve the issues.......their warranty service is a pain in the ass and they do repairs instead of replacements so you would be stuck 2-3 weeks without a phone if you had to send it in.
I'm in the US and trying to see if software will fix the issues with mine
I was thinking of getting a replacement housing for my HOX as mine is looking a little bruised and battered, but had a couple of questions:
1. Are they a genuine HTC part?
2. I have just had my phone fixed by HTC due to WiFi problem and wondered if the new housing will give me the same problem.
3. Are they are good??
Thanks for your help

couple of threads are going around asking the same question..have you had a search in the accessories section mate?
nah i do not think that a new housing should give you any issue regarding the wifi.
should be good yes...if it was easy to do i would love to change the housing on my phone but to much hassle...check ebay for housing cases but be sure to read feedback first before going ahead and purchasing it...
but first have a look over at the accessories section here on the One X forums
Thanks will have a look :good:
Yes they are genuine parts, and I already did a big post with photos showing how I changed my grey/black model to a white model.
It's easy enough it takes both a little force, and a little delicacy but its fairly simple.
Here is the thread...

hello guys. I just bought a pre owned one v, sadly It has some yellow spots on the screen. But its still under warranty. My question is, Can I use the reciept as proof of purchase with previous owner's name to claim warranty? All of the package is with me. Same IMEI with everything.
thank you in advance!

So even you've been a victim to those nasty glue spots... Mostly, all One Vs manufactured in April 2012 have yellow spots.... even I have a very little yellow part which is seen when I increase the brightness to its fullest and the room is completely dark ('cause its reallly a small one)..
Did you buy it from FlipKart.Com? I read about someone who got his One V replaced twice but yellow spots are there in all One Vs he got..
Looks like HTC is least bothered about this phone.. They didn't even make it proper!
Hope you get a good replacement..:fingers-crossed: Are the spots too big?
