How much app is worth? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone tell me how I can go back and check how much money an app cost me after I purchased it? Not that I made a mistake of purchasing everything or anything. I just want to get a grand total of how much I have spent on the market. Is there a way to go back and see how much the app is worth?

try looking online should have prices there

should I do this

I have had the LTE Galaxy Nexus from Verizon since it first came out. Up until the 4.0.4 update I loved this phone. However since then I have had 4 replacement Nexuss and just tired of it. Verizon has offered to switch me to a charge or a Razr. I won't take the Charge and I asked about Razr Maxx and was told no. After some persistence they said I could have the Razr Maxx but I would have to pay an extra $100. Do you guys think it is worth it?
Hell no as far as I know that **** should be free. Even then I don't think its worth such a locked down phone.
Sent From My Toro+ via RED Tapatalk
No. Do you think a larger battery is worth a $100 extra? I don't think so. Some people were offered gs3's.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I was barely offered the Razr but I have had nothing but trouble with Verizon throughout this entire process. I have not had phone calls returned by various Verizon employees I have even been laughed at by another one yet all they said was they do not even have to offer me another type of phone. I have been calm every time and only raised my voice once when I was laughed at by a "supervisor." I have been a loyal customer to Verizon over the years yet this is really trying my patients. I am half tempted to go ahead and pay the $100 because I love/need the extra battery life.
If I had a customer service tool laugh at me, I would switch providers immediately, regardless of what they offered me... and when they wanted their early termination fees I would take that all the way to their CEO if need be. As an ex Verizon employee, I can honestly say there should be no excuse for that kind of treatment towards a customer...

Keep insisting! Don't hesitate to ask. They should give it to you for free! Its their problem not yours. You didn't ask for a malfunctioning phone. And besides the amount of money that we pay them is undescribable.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I have heard of people getting SIIIs, there is no way I would pay an extra $100 for a RAZR Maxx. I personally would take nothing other than a working Nexus. Ask them to give you a brand new Nexus instead of a refurb. The locked down phones no longer appeal to me after crackflashing mine.

This. I always hate when people say "your the reason phones are so high because you find one little problem and want another one , just be happy with it" or something to that nature. Not like its something cheap you can just shrug off, it's hard earned money.
It took me 3 different phones to finally get 1 worthy of keeping.
So if you really like the Gnex, I'd keep sending them back till you got one you are satisfied with. If not, take 1 of the other options.
It really is a shame that it takes some of us this many tries to get one worth a damn.

AT&T i777 Tradein Value

I just left my local store with my new GS3! I wanted to pass on to everyone that the tradein value that I received on my GS2 (i-777) was exactly $121, which brought the grand total of the GS3 to $89.
While I understand that I could have sold my GS2 online for more, I really didn't want to go through the hassle.
Hope this helps someone make the jump

You're proud of getting ripped off because you were too lazy to sell your phone on Craiglist for $250-$300?

You just threw away about $150 by not taking 5 minutes of your time to sell it on ebay. Is your time that valuable (you make $1,800/hour)?
The AVERAGE buy-it-now selling price on ebay for a used AT&T S2 is currently $263, and you could've got a bit more by throwing in your old accessories.

And you wanted to share your story exactly why? So others can do the same? You work for AT&T don't you? Fess up.
Otherwise why else would you post that u sold something for $121 when u could of gotten $200+ .

I got 200 for my iPhone 4 16gb at games top, that was cash as I had a promo for extra credit. I lost out on maybe 25 bucks for shipping/ eBay fees if I went that route. I avoid Craigslist as I had a lot of bad experiences selling through it.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to get flamed for trying to be helpful.
Also, I don't work for AT&T, don't even really like AT&T.
No, my time isn't too valuable, I was just lazy and wanted the GS3. I have had horrible experiences with both eBay and CL, and prefer not to use them. MOD, could you close or even just delete this thread...I have learned to not try and be helpful.
Why is everyone flaming the OP. I wouldn't even try to sell an i777 for more than 150. He only lost out on like 30 bucks.
BTW, I buy and sell phones all the time. And have for 5 years so...

Canada repair - cracked screen

Well my screen is cracked and I definitely don't have the skills or patience to try and fix it myself. Anyone have any experience with getting repairs done through Samsung Canada (absolute repair) or any suggestions on getting it fixed? I would love to hear what you went through to get yours repaired of this happened to you... I am not looking forward to going back to my old iPhone while I wait for the screen to get fixed!

I feel your pain, I dropped my phone about a week after i got it and the screen had a big nasty crack on it, i pretty much went around to all the phone repair shops in mississauga, and to pacific mall too, and everyone said it would cost around $300 to fix the thing cause the digitizer and the screen need to be replaced at the same time. And they told me to wait a couple of months to see if the prices go down, keep in mind that fixing the screen on the SII would cost about $250 now so I wasnt hopeful to the prices changing by much.
The good thing in my case is that I was able to get an insurance plan from ensquared since the phone was less that a month old so i was able to get it replaced through them. cost me $170 to get a brand new phone (70$ registration and 95$ deductable).
Also depending on how long ago you got the phone, and if you bought it with your credit card, most if not all credit card companies offer automatic insurance on anything you buy for 30 days so check with them as they might be able to help you.
depending on the crack, i would say just live with it for now. Or if you are willing, there are lots of threads and youtube videos that shows you how to replace the screen yourself, the proccess is simple just takes attention and time.
good luck
There was a thread in the general section about spliting the digitzier from the glass and saving a lot of money but if that doesn't work there is a place in London, Ontario called "Cellular Magician" I recommend them if you live nearby.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback!

Broken Screen Phone Repair

Thinking about buying... Please help :)

Okay, I'm currently rocking the HTC One S on Tmobile USA. I'm thinking about getting the SGSiii for the upgrade fee (~280USD). I have a few good reasons for wanting to switch, like this device having more memory (big one) and I like big devices.
I was wondering, would you guys recommend this device. More specifically, would you recommend it developer-wise (IE: good development / support. I hear this device has official CM10/10.1 support)? I know there must be other threads but they are buried and old . I should not wait for any other secret device to be released soon
Just one question as well, does this phone actually have sdcard support and does it work well with demanding tasks such as storing game files on teh SD?
Thanks for the help. Hope to be a good part of this community. PS: I know a few of your devs who used to have the One S

If you can, hold off for a little more. The s3 is good but in about 3 months, the next s family will probably be announced. If you can hold of, if not, then shell for the note 2. If not possible, the s3 is a good device. I said note 2 because of the battery life and screen.

Correct me if I'm wrong fellow xda members -- you most likely will be required to add a data plan when signing a new contract or upgrading through t-mobile. I heard they took out the 200mb plan and now require people to get the 2gb at the very least.

Optional for the value plan. Even if you initially have to get the 2gb plan you can always downgrade

I know this is getting a bit off of XDA's immediate knowledge, but is it possible to modify (downgrade or delete) a data plan after extending the contract but before the contract expires? Thanks.

Yes there is. When I first got my GS3, I ended up modifying my plan three or four times to get a certain plan that TMo laid out. You can do if online. Mine was all messed up in the first place because I got my phone at Walmart. I ended up going into my T-Mobile store and fixing it about a month later. Well when I did that, it did extend my contract another month. What's another month in two years anyway? *Shrugs*
To answer your OG question... Yes it is worth it. I've turned 3 people onto this device.

Ive talked 5 ppl into getting this device at least... and none have complained. Its purely amazing. The S4 will be out in next 6 months though, but this phone gives me everything I need so I dont think I will be switching even when the s4 does drop. Normally I'd say wait, but I did NOT like the One S and quite frankly thr One S and the HTC Amaze are the 2 phones that turned me off of HTC. S3 is so much better. If u have the 280 to spare, i'd do it

S3 supports SD card, I just bought mine 16G for about $15.
Overall, this device is worth to buy. Bigger screen, faster processing speed. and you can flash your own ROM, like MIUI or Paranoid.
Right now, i think it is the best (price, overall) one on the market.
280$ is quite expansive for an upgrade i suggest you to wait a little bit more till it gets cheaper and you wont regret it ...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I would get it, I love mine. However, I strongly suggest you shop around first, a quick search could save you a lot of money. For example, Best Buy has the T-Mo S3 for $179.99 right now ($229.99 for the 32gb), and you may be able to find it even cheaper somewhere else.
Don't buy it from tmobile, its cheaper else where like at Walmart. Last time I checked the phone was around 80$ for upgrade . Also titanium grey will be available around January 4th.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Would consider moving to one of their pre-paid plans if I was you.
You may save a lot by spending an extra bit on the phone compared to the lousy subsidising they're offering you while still having you pay raised on-contract rates.
I upgraded from a one s to a sgs3 and definitely prefer the sgs3 and am totally happy with it. If I were u I would consider the note 2, if it's not too big. The sgs4 Will be out in a couple months but that will be the international version that u will have to pay full price for. Plus it probably won't come to US carriers for a couple months after it drops...
Sent from my SGS3
Get the sg3 for that $. i payed a lot more and its worth it.
Just jumping through some hoops...
Thank you guys so much for the help. I am acutally thinking of getting one on ebay so I don't have to worry about adding data to the line this device will be upgrading. I see some on there for about 400 USD.
Anyone have any tips for buying this T-Mo SGSiii on eBay? Anyone know a reliable site to check the IMEI to make sure it's not stolen lol? Thanks again.
One thing to consider is that T-Mobile is no longer subsidizing phones in 2013. How this will effect Wal-Mart's prices, only time will tell.

My Bad Experience with the JUMP program

Hi Guys,
Has anybody had any issues trying to update their phone with the jump program.
I went into the tmobile store on 1/12 and the rep pulled up my account and indicated that I an eligible on 1/14. I would need to go into the store to do the upgrade.
On 1/14 I went into the store and asked to update from the S4 to a white G2. Well, to my surprise they did not have any white G2's and could not have one shipped to me because they jump program does not allow shipping to an address. They could not even ship it to the store. They called around and found a store 45m in from me that had a white G2.
Off I went to the store. I spent 1.5 hours in the store while the reps tried to process the upgrade but could not. Had customer service on the line and still no luck. Eventually I had to leave because this was taking 2.5 hours out my day.
I called customer service about 3 times yesterday and still no luck. They indicated that they cannot do anything as the Jump program must be done from a store. I stopped in at another store last night and the same issue. Unable to complete the process.
I am so frustrated with tmobile right now. Do they not test this before they launch it. Maybe the same company that build the Obama Care is managing the tmobile site.
:crying::crying::crying:Let me know if you guys have had any luck.
Sean

Were you able to get a new phone with the jump program? The guys at the store seemed like a bunch of "Yahoos" and I'm not sure they know what they are doing. Nobody seems to have completed the jump redeem procedure yet.
So, I called customer service today and the rep said they are looking into the issue with the jump program and she has all my details and would give me a call on Wed, Jan 22
You would really think it would take them a day to fix this issue.
Not impressed.

Thanks tmobile.
Complaint Box
When anything first comes out it is not buttery smooth expect a little hiccups with the first round of using jump. You got in on the opening days of jump and got a new device. You experience some turbulence but got your new phone. It is because of people like you that complain about the smallest inconveniences in a great thing that give good things bad names. If you plan on keeping up with the best and latest devices you cant beat jump. Why dont you go out and buy a 4k tv as well and complain about it looking the same as 1080p as well while you are at it. (if you dont know what I am talking about. It is because there isnt a whole lot of stuff that is 4k quality yet it is all still 1080p and that is all you would get. even though 4k is better you just have to wait for the services to come available)
