It means that the battery isnt communicating with the phone so it thinks there isnt a battery installed even though it is still sending the phone power. Tell him if he has TEP on the phone he can just go to his nearest sprint store and they SHOULD give him a new battery.
PS: this is the first time i have ever heard of it happening on an evo. But I have seen it on other HTC Sense devices (the battery status icons are different on Sense devices than that of regular stock Android.)
Thanks for the response!

Guys,
I didn't pay much attention to my earlier Low Battery notification icon,
Now i'm having low battery notification with HTC Desire phone icon on my SGS!
My last update is Super Circle Battery, can that be the root cause?
Can others confirm this?

Show me Nexus One then
im sure mines different.... id like to know this before modding my battery icon which im just about to do and stumbled across this
OK. My battery life blows. The long green lines are the phone in airplane mode. You'll see its in apm most of the day while I'm at work but this seems retarded to me. This is WITH extended battery... now my girls gn makes it the whole day without going into apm and she's using standard batter. top pic is mine bottom is hers. Any ideas?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
earlier today i wipe bat stats in cwm (correctly) i just dont get whats going on here
How many hours of screen on time do you have? Also, a screen shot of the history details is better for others to troubleshoot the battery.
In case anyone is curious, this is voltage/battery% on our phones.
Originally created to see if there is a difference between freshly flashed phones (under 48 hours, black dots) and "settled" phones (over 48 hours, black dots).
This data can be easily acquired using minimalistic text(which is awesome for many reasons) or Battery Monitor Widget by 3c. Im sure there are others if anyone wants to contribute data.
This is with stock 1800mah battery.

It includes different system processes but you can take a look if you use gsam monitor widget, there you can see better which processes it includes...I don't have this problem, okay I use a custom Rom and those are fixing most things so yea normally that shouldn't drain much battery
I also use maximus Rom that's strange
Yea maximusHD is as close as possible to stock, but even with maximusHD I didn't had any problems with that even if it sometimes showed a bit more percentage with that. Htcmode just handles most of HTC stuff like a all in one service
I accidently pulled down my statusbar and instead of battery % i saw this text which shows how long my battery will last, how can i show it permanently there? Can't figure out how i made this to show up. Now when i pull it down it shows % again....

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I'll keep a lookout if I ever see the same thing. If nothing else, maybe a developer will find a way to enable that all the time since we don't know what the trigger was.
OK thanks, happened again the last 30 minutes and before someone asked it is not rooted or another launcher / app installed
