[Q]HELP! My Desire got into restarl loop and can't restore

Hi guys,
I've just partitioned my SD CARD through ROM Manager. Partition of 512MB and 0MB of SWAP.
After that I turned on the Desire and Went to the rom manager and tried to Flash a ROM. - this went unsuccesfully because the ROM Manager could see my SD Card.
So, in the ROM MANAGER I pressed the thing that gets you into the recovery mode, and there when i was trying to flash the room, if could see the sd-card again.
I tryied to restore, but it said that it has nothing to restore(first of all i've just backed up before starting, and even before that I had tons of backups).
I gave up the restore and restarted my phone, which also went unsuccesfully.
I've got into a restart loop where the phone turnes up till the opening page, has a little time of black screen, and than again-opening screen.
PLEASE HELP ME. ANYONE???
EDIT: I have just connected the SD CARD to the computer through a card reader, and he is almost empty! It has only 2 folders: .android_secure, .footprints, Android, LOST.DIR
what should I do?!
Maybe some1 can upload here all his SDCARD content and by that i'll copy it into my, and maybe it will work again
EDIT #2: NOW I'CANT ENTER THE RECOVERY MOD AT ALL!!!
it just stuckes on the with screen showing the HTC sign.
A partition will delete the contents of a sd card you should of backed up you nandroid first.... go to recovery mode by holding vol down and pressing the power button while the device is off, and choose recovery from the menu, clear the dalvik cache and see if your device will boot

I pressed the"wipe dlavik chache" and nothing happend..
and now i can't enter the recovery mode at all. great.....

Sorry for the ignorance, but what RUU is?, I really didnt get your post
Before rooting it's advised to check the original ROM running on your phone and get a copy of that RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility) so you can always revert back to stock if things go wrong. I assume you don't know what your phone originally came on?
Unfortunately you are write.
So.. is there something for me to do?
check this link with all the official RUUs and download one that is from your region or download the generic World wide english one (WWE)
its a utility that runs on windows and installs a fresh official ROM on your device

dude and where is the link?

I CANT TURN ON MY PHONE!
Try.
Try reformatting your sd card in windows first?
If you have ubuntu, you could use gparted to format it.
Or use another sd card.
Since you can access your sd card, download clockworkmod and the necessary files needed to root your phone, including a new rom. (I don't know how its like on windows as i use a mac so...)
Start the rooting process again using unrevoked. See if it starts up your phone.
If you can, flash the new rom.
Hopefully everything will work out.
P.S. What rom were you using before this happened and what version of rom manager were you using? Perhaps this might help other people.
First of all, I was using the newest version of ROM Manager and an Israeli ROM based on the LEEDROID.
but it all relays to the past, i got my phone back on track!!!
I found an old folder on my computer which included all my SDCARD content(I rememberd that i've backed up it on the pc once), so i copied everything to the SD, and than it let me into the recovery mod, and i had an old Nandroid backup.
EVERYTHING IS FINE NOW, THANKS EVERYBODY FOR TRYING!

I have been Hacked!

Yeah..as the title says.. 3 weeks ago this hacker hacked into my network..
placed rootkits in all my 3 computers and then hacked its way to my Desire and my wifes iphone. good thing i had wireshark running same time.
So.. 5 units hacked with the method in like 1 houre. Bad luck for me i guess.
And kaspersky didnt give me any warnings at all. bye bye kaspersky.
Anyway... i flashed my desire's HBOOT just to be sure. after i did a check with "AutoKiller Memory Optimizer" all kinds of malware services was attached to most of my apps.
1- downgraded HBOOT
2- flashed stock HBOOT from alpharev
3- Changed recovery from CWM to 4EXT as i suspected the recovery being infected somehow.
I checkd my log... the hacker had removed some files and moved shell files from an folder to another as well as busybox and so on. it was so many i thought il be better of installing new ROM.
I tried with Gingervillain first... everything installed fine..
checking with "root explorer" i see same files that had been moved and added was still there.
OK.. i tried again..
full wipe with 4ext and then installed Runnymede.. still.. when i check my root partition most of the files still there and i get same results doing a root check.
any idees...? im not sure if my kernel is right. it should be, when i installed Runnymede. when checking kernel v.
it says.. "[email protected] #11"
May be kernel rootkit? does the kernel start before recovery?
can someone plz confirm this?
baseband seem to be the same
any advise as for how to start from scratch will be much appreciated.

Full wipe wipes /cache, /data and /sd-ext to my knowledge. There is a possibility some of the files remain on /system. Use 4EXT to manually format each partition using format option.

That seems in order. Long name in attach marks modules added to that kernel.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Ok
well.. i did the format manually in 4EXT.
I suspect some files still to be there..also some boot files containing malware script.
what file contains the boot script? i mean.. what file is the first to be triggered when booting in HBOOT. because many things in the recovery doesnt seem right. and the hboot fastrecovery starts with a delay.
Like when i want to partition or when i want to format all partitions except sd. Acts like it doesnt want to.
Anyway.. was just wondering if i could just adb and delete every file folder that is in in my phone and then flash recovery and ROM again.
Is that what RUU does?
is that something to recomend?
RUU is complete wipe of everything. /system, /hboot etc.
Download the correct one for your phone, *follow its instructions* (may need a gold card - google it) and run it on a clean pc.
Clean your pc ie format and reinstall after taking backups.
Then start again wit ha new hboot/rom setup.
Is that even possible? Infecting an Android phone via a Wi-fi network?
And Recovery shouldn't be able to get infected. I think ONLY /data can, and eventually /system if it's mounted as RW.
But on a wipe data gets deleted, and on a ROM install /system and boot (which holds the kernel and ramdisk) is deleted anyway.
RADIO starts before HBOOT. And there's absolutely no way they can be infected.
To be safe:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery *OVERKILL*
Then just do fastboot flash recovery {RECOVERY}
And there's nothing more you must do. HBOOT reflashing is 100% pointless.
Maybe top-notch hackers are shifting their interest from hacking NASA, FBI and similar organizations in the US to hacking Android phones. Or maybe it's one of their favourite ways to have fun in their idle time. Who knows?
Anyways, here's a Thanks from me, mr. Andrei, for your contribution to this community.

For me it's still strange, tho. Only data and system could be "infected"
Take a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399076
It's a scheme i made on how HTC and Nexus devices work. (How they boot, what are the individual partitions, etc)

[Q] Can't flash a ROM from TWRP

Hello there,
I was trying to install CM10 on my A100 but I messed it up.
I got everything right till TWRP installation, then I accidentally delete everything on my device, CM10 rom included. Now the only thing accessible is TWRP.
I understand from other posts of the forum that it should be still possible to flash a ROM choosing Mount from the menu, but I can't work out how.
I click on the mount tab, and I connect it to my computer via USB. My linux system recognises the tablet as a multimedia player, but it does not allow me to copy files on it. Changing the status of mounting System, Data and Cache does not change the behaviour. The option mount SD card is not selectable.
I have got TWRP 2.2.0, and my A100 does not have external SD.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Do you have a microsd? Or twrp just won't see it. That would probably be the easiest option, load a ROM on the micro SD.
Did you make a backup first thing?
If your tab is in recovery, you should be able to use adb and push a ROM to the internal memory, but it is not recommended to flash from it. That's why I mentioned the microsd first.

Unfortunately not, no microSD slot. I do not even have a backup; in my clumsiness while I was following the procedure I skipped an entire paragraph and I jumped to the wiping section.
I will try to use ADB, I saw that there are few threads covering the procedure. Thanks for the tip, I'll be back with the results
Ok, all went well.
I followed the instructions in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929
with two minor corrections:
1 - as I did not have the /sdcard directory, I used the /data directory
2 - there was no need to add the ROM file name again after /data
thanks for help

Consider yourself lucky, that ROM has nothing to do with this device and would likely have killed it. Only use ROMs from the device forum of the device you're flashing. I mean go to the development section of the a100 and get a ROM there, not some random device ROM with a great name.

NEED HELP! Cant/Denied access internal/emulated storage

i wanted to install new stock rom from here but fastboot wont install it so i went to twrp and tried to flash it from there but during flashing twrp just rebooted itself and saying installation wasnt sucessful, i figured this is due to S-On but prior to flashing it i did possibly the stupidest thing, i went to ADVANCED WIPE and wiped every option on the list(dalvik, system, data, internal storage, cache) except for micro sdcard ofcourse. i then went to FIX PERMISSIONS and stupidly select the ALSO FIX SELINUX CONTEXTS. when those done i then went and install another image which is on the sdcard that i downloaded from here E9pw_Android5.0_Sense70_E1.zip . the installation went well and rebooted itself and got to the homescreen and whatnot. but the troubles came when i tried to install apps from playstore and it gave me all kind of errors known to man, even going into file manager to access the internal storage gave me problem it says something along ACCESS IS DENIED or CANT ACESSS EMULATED OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. when i opened chrome to download something the browser just crashed because apparently it wont able to access the emulated storage. yeah i fcked up badly here. dont know whatelse to do.
see below of the files that i currently have in my external microsd card:
E9pw_Android5.0_Sense70_E1.zip -WORKS
open gapps arm64 android 5.0 stock
RUU 0PJXIMG_A55ML_DTUL_L50_SENSE70_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.35.7 07.2 - DONT WORK
0PJXIMG_A55ML_DTUL_L50_SENSE70_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.35.7 07.2 - DONT WORK
Thanks!
Got it fixed! by going to TWRP-->WIPE-->FORMAT DATA and reinstall the ROM. if anybody experiencing the same problem please do the same.

Unending trouble with system partition for hydrogen

hi guys, I am having trouble with my MI Max having 32GB internal memory.
From it's behaviour for last few days I have inferred it's system partition is the culprit.
On stock miui rom, it gives msg that encryption unsuccessful and I need to factory reset it. But even after doing factory reset it shows the same msg.
Its with locked boot loader but referring one thread I could install twrp latest version on it by replacing recovery image in stock rom and flashing with mi flash tool in edl mode.
So with two I tried installing few vision rooms like miui eu ROM, RR and crdroid based on Oreo. All the rooms while flashing fine error E1001, saying system image not updated and flashing failed.
I even tried repairing file system, fixing file system, Channing file system to fat, exfat, ext2, ext3, ext4 and f2fs several times (from advanced wipe menu) but things are not improving. Even tried formatting data partition as it's suggested at few places.
I am out of ideas after spending few days trying to fix it by flashing several times.
So please if some one can assist in resolving the issue, I would really appreciate.
Thank you in advance.
You need to format data not wipe . Go to twrp choose wipe , format data and type yes . Note, by doing this you will lose all of your data if you want to keep it make sure to save it to your PC or USB drive.

As discussed yesterday on unofficial LineageOS (nijel8) thread the nand is damaged. You need to delate partition, compact unallocated space & then recreate the exactly the same partition. That way it won't be on the same spot & it will work.
Use a PC with an partition manager.

Tks a lot for the reply. It gave a ray of hope to me. Though I am hearing modifying partition on android device for the first time to fix it. That too for bricked device and to do it on PC. Is there any thread guiding about it? Would read a bit about how to do it in order to not mess things up even more.

It's still ain't bricked so you can do this relatively easy. When it's bricked EDL programmer for used NAND chip used is needed.
So take a deep breath, see the exact size & type of the partition, delate it, create a new one exactly the same (type, size & name).

The tool I gave you URL is very good documented and with plenty examples & user guides available all which can be found on the site, it uses graphics GUI so it's as easy as it can be. So if you are inexperienced read/watch first how it's done. After you are done flash what you want in TWRP.
Best regards.
What I meant to ask is, how to access partitions of mobile on PC? I have used partitioning app on windows but never for android device. Anyway, as u have clued, I shall try accessing partitions with mobile connected in edl mode.
