Hi,
Out of interest I've been monitoring the number of Viewers in each section of the forum over the last few months to gauge how things are shaping up in the platform stakes.
Note: This is a very rough snapshot of data (I've not taken the data at the same time of day or on a regular basis).
Make of it what you will, but I thought I'd share the results so far.
I would be interested in seeing a lot more statistical data available about the forums, even down to tracking views of threads with specific tags.

Unfortunately I "lost" my spreadsheet and data for this, however as a quick update here is a quick check I did out of interest!
9th March 3:30PM
10.7% WP7
23.7% WM
65.6% Android
Thanks for that info.
Still think WM has long time still
I hope so, it is definitely very capable, never dreamed of some of the things it can do.
But consumer forces enter here and companies are only interested in the big markets, less and less bother with WM and that is only going to get worse.
Of course, xda will keep our WM devices running nicely until we decide it is time for change! For me, I think there is room for my WM device and a Android device in my life (shame my wallet doesn't agree).
Just thought I'd update with new data from today, WP7 up by 4%, Android up by 10% and WM definitely taking a hit!
Having said that, the numbers suggest that these are extra people rather than loss of people so it's not all bad news for WM.
Unfortunately I "lost" (IT encrypted it and then the encryption software lost the keys...) my spreadsheet and data for this, however as a quick update here is a quick check I did out of interest!

Interesting data. I like how the two look to be repelling each other Go Android!

This better come out for the dash, thats all i have to say lol
I agree, it looks pretty nice, hopefully we get the update or something along those lines.
Let's hope so! Probably be a long time before T-Mo puts out a ROM with it though. I won't hold my breath considering the scheduled release isn't until Febraury 2008.
In theory, could this possibly leak before it's release? I would love to get my hands on an early copy. I don't care if it's alpha or beta, I need it in my life!!
The Link Please!

What exactly is Cigular Wireless? Are the chinese doing knockoffs of entire wireless networks now?
I got to play with Windows Mobile 6.1 yesterday. It looks pretty much the same. I didn't know what to look for specifically. I talked to a Windows Mobile person from M$ and asked that person why Office Mobile didn't create docs and she said she didn't know why and would ask. If anything, I think the front screen in WM 6.1 is worth the upgrade. More info in a presentable manner.

John at pocketpc.ch stumbled over a hidden link to the MyPhone Beta cab in WinMobile 6.5. Windows Live-IDs have not yet been activated for MyPhone, but since the cloud offering will be presented next week at Barcelona keep this on your radar if you like. Link to Beta below.

didnt work with my hotmail account from germany. maybe l8or
It is expected that MS' Steve Ballmer will introduce the service (and activate Live-accounts) for next Monday at 3 pm, or Tuesday 11 am CET at the latest.
I don't know about having all my contact details kept in microsoft's server though. Are you guys able to trust that such information could only be access by you and you only? Just for the benefit of not having to worry about your phone getting stolen?
Besides contact details, there are much much more sensitive data which I worry about. Think of all the stuff we keep in our e-wallet! Do we let microsoft keep those in their server too?
No thanks!
I have no issues with my contacts, even the ones that raise suspicions in the U.S. Need a cloud solution that all my devices can access, tired of syncing over devices, but the first cloud service to offer Exchange Push Email (Gmail employees say its in the works) will get my data. Nokia, that just lost three weeks of customer data, certainly not...
As for my e-wallet, would not trust it to anyone...
i need a promo invite so bad please
PM one if you can, anybody ? =)
Blogging site Xanga just released an app and it's not accessible for anything running 3.0+. As soon as I open the app, I get this.

Is there any way of "tricking" the app into thinking I'm running 2.3 or something? I've spoken to the developer and he said they only had 2.3 devices to test with so until they get something newer, they aren't looking into it. Any thoughts?

Tell them to download 4.0 simulator... crazy replied from the developer
I told them to root their phones and install an ICS rom.

I've found that most developers are pretty good with updating their apps for new versions. Right before the Galaxy Nexus came out I remember my phone/tablet grabbing tons of updates, and usually the update notes would say "Android 4.0 compatibility added".
But there are some developers who have either abandoned their apps completely, or just don't see the need to invest in keeping their apps updated and in tip-top shape. It's a shame, because I feel a lot of them are primarily interested in iOS, and ported their stuff over because of the demand for Android versions, but then don't really think investing their time into the Android version is worth their while.
All a part of the ecosystem I guess. Good thing about Android is that if an app isn't coded to work properly or gets abandoned, there are usually quite a few alternatives.
I usually write detailed reviews about products I have tested and verified, instead of those I read about or seen in crowdfunding campaigns. As a matter of fact, I'm very skeptical about such campaigns because 2014 has been a big disappointment with a number of projects I have been looking forward to (some with smart devices promised back in 2013). It's a first time I'm bring something like this up, and in no way am I associated or involved with this particular project. Just after reading all the discussions on XDA about MI fitness tracker and some other basic bracelet type fitness trackers, when I saw this particular watch - I was so impressed that I wanted to share with you about it.

The project is NEVO watch with a smart functionality and activity tracker: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/nevo-the-first-minimalist-connected-watch
What's really cool about it - it looks like a regular high quality fashion watch with a minimalistic approach of a led dial which tracks your progress toward the daily goal set within an app. It also provides notifications in a form of a vibration whenever you get a call or email/txt, etc. But the coolest part, the watch mechanism runs off a regular battery which should last at least 5 years, while smart functionality of the watch is powered off another battery which should last you at least 6 months. Both batteries are common type and easy to replace.
I see so many people with these ugly plastic wrist bands that have only one functionality of an activity tracker. Now, you can have a classy looking watch with activity tracker already built in. And from what I understand, this is not a vaporware but a product which has been already designed and tested, at least prototype of it, including software as well. Either way, I'm not preaching or saying it's a must have product, but rather would like to share with you about it since I personally find it to be fascinating!
Ok before you laugh, have a look about the internet, I was frankly stunned by this old news, as I would have gone all in on a Microsoft/Nokia Feature Phone. I would still drop my Android in a heart beat to have this. As for years I ran an Old Audiovox SMT 5600 WinMo 5 candy bar phone, even with the T9 text it did all I ever wanted phone calls, texts, and music in my pocket. None of the fancy streaming or data collection crap with facebook and it's evil partners
Any way I stray away from the Topic.... Sources for the Microsoft RM-1181/82/83
Windows Central Zac Bowden did a write up of a hands on.....
https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-feature-phone-rm-1182-windows
Nokia Power User also had pics and a write up
RM-1182 was a Microsoft-branded Feature-phone
RM-1182 seems to be a Microsoft-branded Feature-phone
nokiapoweruser.com
A YouTube video of it's startup, prototype password stuff
Then to my surprise a few are in the wild and for sale.....

I would buy one, but I have no idea how much is working, what of the phone works, or how to even start to poke about and look to rip out a rom to see if other newer Hardware in the HMD/Nokia line could be made to run what ever this runs. It comes from China, so I am guessing it will take forever to get one with the world in the state it's in.
In any case just putting it out to see if anyone gets sparked with an itch. I know my itch is sparked and I have no idea how long I can hold off trying to grab one. As I have been thinking of going back to a feature phone for some time as I have no need for all the crap a Smart Phone does, but I am older and not driven by a need for social media junk.
