Browser redirects - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok having an issue with my browser redirecting to different webpages when I click a link.
Basically when I go here and click " Click to go to host website"
http://www.surfthechannel.com/link/1/1289/6440184/0.html
To watch movies on my android it redirects me to some gaming website. When i go to this same link on any PC it goes straight to the megavideo link.
I remember this happening before when I was trying to watch videos and I got around it somehow. I think I just kept clicking the link until it got me there but not sure.
I've already tried using Opera Mini and Dolphin Browser plus the stock sense browser.
If someone could help me with this I would really appreciate it. Sometimes I get stuck in this office with nothing to do but watch these tv shows on my phone cause no PC is in the room.

Did some more research on this turns out any megavideo link will redirect you to some games website.

Just found out Skyfire isn't redirected. So if your trying to watch a megavideo link remember Skyfire will go to it and wont be redirected.
Dolphin HD, Sense browser, opera mini all redirected to some games website. Another reason I love having a choice with Android.

I installed Skyfire, but it redirectsme like Dolphin or stock browsers. Does it hapend to you?

When ROMs add Flash (there is one already) I had been able to watch through the browser with Flash.
Manually install flash from the APK (search for it on xda. Found tons of links for it).
Install Dolphin Browser HD/your choice of browsers that support flash.
For dolphin change it to Desktop instead of Android device and it will let you watch amazon videos. I tested this with my Amazon Prime on-demand free streaming and worked well.

That worked for me too. I even got full screen video by tapping the "pop out" button. Then Dolphin pushed out an update and now I can't watch Flash anymore.

HTML5 (videos) on Note 2

I wanted to be able to view web pages on Note 2 just like I can on iPad. I downloaded Dolphin HD browser, tried changing User Agent to iPad / Nexus 7 /iPhone. I have been disappointed with overall experience. When I change the User Agent to Nexus 7, I can see full CNN page, but when I click on Videos, it says I need Adobe. I can run videos when using iPad UA, but the quality is mediocre. Is there a way to surf the internet like you can on iPad? View full websites and run videos?

if you need adobe flash player then install it? iphone doesn't have flash i'm pretty sure. so your overall experience will be 100 times better on android also, dolphin hd browser does NOT support flash. you'll need to use the mini dolphin or the stock browser to view things in flash. most sites still don't seem to support HTML5. i've seen very few. oh and jelly bean doesn't have official flash support, but it still works perfectly.
so google how to side-load flash player. if you don't know how. problem solved.

What I'm trying to get at is, if iPad/iPhone can convert and play that video in HTML5, why can't an Android device play it if I change user agent to that of an Android tablet. I don't want flash. Just want to be able to play videos from full-websites, not mobile sites.
A example of site were you have this problem?

CNN full site. Try running any video. It only renders videos in mobile version of the site, in full version it displays Flash installation message.

Just download adobe flash from adobe's own website and it'll work fine. I can confirm it works on my ipad 3 as html 5.

I did download flash and it is workable, lil choppy but I guess I will take it. Not as smooth as on the iPad.
Also, I went to a Staple store yesterday and checked out couple of Android tablets including Nexus 7 and ran into the same situation on all tablets. I went to CNN, it opened full page, but when I clicked on the video, it presented Adobe message. Download Dolphin, then it works in HTML5, but a little grainy. This is something that just works on the iPad natively in HTML5
I noticed that you mentioned that you use Dolphin browser. I've noticed that the performance of the Dolphin on the Note 2 is less than good IMO, especially compared to stock. I would recommend trying Boat Browser instead, and just run flash. It's much better that way.

Much better! And the browser is free, I will take it. Thanks. Boat Browser + Flash apk puts me in the ballpark where I don't have to reach out for my iPad. :good:

full screen browser

I have a web page slideshow I display on a 40" TV at my business, and am hoping to use my fire stick instead of my laptop to run it.
I've sideloaded a few browsers and they display the slideshow, but not full screen.
I've tried Dolphin & Firefox, but can't see if it's possible to go full screen and tried a couple of "Fullscreen Browser" apps XYZ-Apps version ran the slideshow poorly and has a welcome message bar I cant make go away. The Klurige version has no way to enter the URL.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
try the app "rotate screen orientation" and see if that helps. it sets all apps to landscape mode.

I would like to know which version of the Opera Web Browser are you currently using on your FireTV?
Are you using the latest Opera 35.0.2070.100283 (Full Version) or Opera Mini 15.0.2125.100342 (Beta)?
I am using the Opera Browser not mini my version atm is 34.0.0.2044.98679 so would be version before that I guess but its fast full screen and has good features. Funny cause I like using firefox on my kindles but opera seems a nice fit for the ftv.
