[Q] Apps 2 Internal? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently running a rooted Stock Sense......
Beyond 2.2's ability to move apps to the sd card.... and other apps in the marketplace to speed up the process....
Is there a way to move the apps to the 8 gig of internal memory?

i saw one person claim that an older version of someones rom did this but i dont know who's. i sure would love that also.

I am running Download xtrSENSE 5.0: http:// zach.xtr.i6ix.com/xtrSENSE5.0.1.zip it will app2internal , app2sd when u use the Gscript , menu, load file (& load whichever ) & the u select what u loaded 2 make it run before backing out 2 home BTW I'm Droid Eris

I tried 2 give u a link but I guess it didn't work . xtrSENSE5.0.1. is just like stock & I enjoy using it . I'm new here but I hope I answered ur question. It has a lot more 2 offer than just what I described.

[Q] backup app data

What app can I use that backup app data as well as apk. I need to do a reset on my 101 and I dont want to lose all the game data. Is there a app that can back this up as well. I use titanium pro on my rooted droid but my 101 is not rooted. I tried the free version of app monster and it seems to only backup the apk. Any ideas?
Drop box is the best one i think it backs . Install the app and make an account from here http://db.tt/csFHG40 install the dropbox client on your PC or mac .. Then go to market place and get dropbox for your android or a lot of the backup software like titanium pro has dropbox support right in it ...
I use it 30 times aday to get files 2 and from my pc and i did a full backup of my A32 in just a few min apps data and music ..
Works great .. hope this helps
Also if you ROOT your 101 it makes it wasy to backup everthing ... I did the SDK on both my archos with the custom files on here and it is great to have ROOT ...
Hi,
I'm sorry I'm not sure to understand.
Is it possible to backup your app datas without root ?
You will have to try and use titanium pro or Mybackup .. MyBackup seems to backup more apps without root . So check them out and see .. As for backing up offline and to get the files to your pc easy without USB .. Install Dropbox on your PC and The Client for dropbox on your Archos/android device . Click this link and you will get an extra 250MB free ontop of your 2 free GB's http://db.tt/csFHG40
I have my a32 boot root each time i bootup now so .. I know i can BACKUP EVERYTHING AND APK's OF EVERYTHING right down to the archos setup wizard ... And the best part is with dropbox it backs right up online then sync with my PC .. Great stuff ..
Hope this Helps ...
Thanks computerfreek for this help !
I've tried Titanium pro but no way to use without root and then I've tried MyBackup, it saved my apks and some images add by the system and only the datas of my keyboard, not others datas apps...
I'll wait a easy root method to make a full backup !
I'll take your link, I have already a dropbox, maybe it could give you and me an extra

Well having Root even if it is not prem root you can still . Overclock i have my A32 runing 1200MHZ real fast ... You can do full backup's of even paid apps. You can do a lot more then a none root .
So for now I will stick with temp/root and not kill my device ...

I have root now with 1gb of space instead of the 300mb. I also install titanium pro now. If you guys can stand the challenge go over to the developer side and get your archos rooted.
I use AppBackupReinstall.. no need to root.. backs up all apps to a folder called AppBackup and you can save the apps to your computer via usb.
Hi Tesla74, does it backup apk only or settings of each app ?
Regards
Just the apk installation files.

[Q] Epic rooting questions

Okay im going to get my epic 4g today and i wanna root my phone and install a viperom along with genocide overclock kernal. I wanna do this right out of the box before i put in my contacts but if i want to switch roms i know it will wipe my phone clean. so my questions are how do i back up apps and contacts i see people mentioning titanium back up. Also is new apps available after rooting my phone? And whats the difference between roms and themes? do i need both? Last but not least i see people saying to partition my sd card why do i need to do this? if installing kernals and roms flash my phone how does this effect my sd card? i just dont wanna forget a step and mess something up. If im forget a key part please fill me in thank in advance
Your contacts will be synced with your google account so they will never be deleted.
As for your apps yes titanium backup is the best way (IMO) to backup all their data.
Yes rooting will allow you to take advantage of apps like "AdFree Android" and "SetCPU"
Roms are an entire system were as themes can be flashed over a compatible build/ROM to make your phone look the way you want it to.
you only have to partition your SD Card if you want to set up Apps2SD
which moves your apps and cache to your SD Card so you have more internal memory.

Lol too late xc
I was looking at this one,
We needed a bunch of phones to run Google Authenticator on (so nothing fancy), but for normal use 256MB of RAM is not much.
I come across the HTC Explorer, which has 512MB, better screen and is around 130eur.
try uninstalling unwanted apps on the system like email, maps, etc. But be careful of what you uninstall! This may lead to boot loop. And bricking you're phone. Try reading google docs. You can uninstall it using Titanium Backup.
If you're memory too low, try partitioning you're sd card.
I just partitioned my sdcard, and used link2sd.
I'm on a stock rom btw, but fully rooted.
After setting it up, it worked fine. No conflicts on start up and the second partition mounted fine.
Only thing that was weird, is after linking all apps to card, there was a mount error, and in log on /data for link2sd, it said phone or resources busy.
Reboot again, and it's fine. I tried it, and booted several times now with no more problems. It's just the one mount error. Perhaps a slight bug but it's fine now.
I partitioned my card with the cwm zip skin done, in developer section (madteamgalaxyY.zip works too)
So give link2sd a try.
I've close to 100 applications installed, and i've still got almost 159mb space on internal memory.
I also removed all the bloat from the rom too, that I didn't want.
So if you're rooted, or know what you're doing, then I'd advise you on the above.
If your not root savvy, then look it up, google it, and research, so you know what you're doing lolz.
I know a lot now, but I'm still only a rookie, and no developer by any standards. Just a user who's more savvy, and not too scared to mess up.
Good luck, and hope that helps.
If your not rooted, just search the forums here for the update.zip. to root it via stock recovery if you're comfortable with rooting, and only if you know what you're doing ;-)
As if you mess up, it's on your own head lolz. I'm just giving advice, based on what I did, to solve the space issue on our galaxy y.
Good luck anyways ;-)

Yup, like I said. But if you wish to partition your card by computer, then google and forum search is your friend ;-)
But personally, using the cwm zip, on the developer forum section does the job fine. Just search for it ;-)

This list shows which ones are safe and which ones are not. I used this list. I can't remember who posted this list here originally, but I remember bookmarking it. (Apologies to original poster, if I haven't credited you, but I can't remember who you are)
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...=0Ag43oj7rLQP4dENZcmhGN0ZUa3pHSENVeXlqUm5vV0E
That should get you on your way.
And finally if you want my advice, please read FAQ's in the link2sd app menu, in about section and visit the developers site, as there is a lot of information that will help you further, and will help educate you on things you may not be sure on. It helped me, a lot.
I didn't ask questions, when I was learning new tricks, I just educated myself by searching here and via google, as some people moan if you ask before searching, but I don't mind telling if I know or remember lolz.
Anyways, good luck.

you have given him a full tutorial simon. thats a generous of you.
I definetely agree when simon said that google and search menu is our best friend here. please use them before asking anything. most of more experienced user will ignore this kind of post. it is more wise to put any kind of question to the FAQ section. you're welcomed to ask anything there. please don't be hesitate to ask us there.
Yeah right .. search first before asking/posting.. Search engines will always be your bestfriend..

How come your galaxy y has only 160 MB as internal memory? mine has 190 MB.
Another thing
Another thing I noticed is that it keeps telling me my internal memory is low even when the installed apps probably occupy only about 35 MB.
I'm considering doing a factory reset.

[Q] Please help!!!! dont know what to doooo!

So recently i bought an SD card, normally 'moving' all my apps in SD was going into my files, touch and hold the game file i wanted to move and drop it into the EXT SD..
Once i did that, i was certain that all my apps were in the SD card but when i looked at storage they were all saved under the phones built in SD..
Apart from that.. all of a sudden it won't let me download any apps what so ever from the internet.. it comes up with an error telling me i have NO space and to delete some apps.. i have 8gb of EXT SD sace and 6gb Internal SD.. so why cant i download a 50mb app????????
I've reset the cache in clockword Mod and in the Play store... WTF is going on?
please help
bump

Try factory reset. I've never had that issue before. I've been reading the forums and the external memory on the gs3 and note 2 among others can be tricky. There are mods that can be applied that help issues with expandable memory. Tread lightly, and carefully is the only advice I have right now

Try asking in the Omega ROM thread then. Might be something specific to that ROM. Alternatively, go back to stock.
did that as soon as i posted, but to be honest im thinking about getting rid of omega rom, i quite liked it stock but obviously rooted.. what would be the best rom for that? to have it stock but rooted and be able to remove bloat ware?

Use titanium backup to freeze or remove bloatware or use ROM Cleaner v1.1 AROMA

I agree.
Also, before posting in the Q&A section, go to the rom's thread and post the issues prior to asking here. Also, Galaxy Note 2 should have about 16GB of internal storage.
And you didn't mention what brand of SD card you bought. You may need to check that product issue prior to problem, also, when you use App2Data, I would suggest you restart your phone after using App2Data. Also, you may need to check your apps' data for any extra data. Some apps may download extra data and store it on your phone without lettting you know.
i was using a Sandisk 16gb and it worked perectly fine, all these things seem to happen out of nowhere. When i tried to use apps to SD it would never shower up with movable apps so i treid moving them using MY FILES.
When i downloaded a music software on my computer the phone wouldn't show up either when plugged in.
thanks for helping tho ive waited quite a few days for help
Apps2SD doesn't work on JB, so you probably messed something up whilst trying to get it to work.
what can i use to move the apps in to the SD then?

Ext2int on android 4.2.2 (installing apps to external SD card)

Hey guys im just looking for some help on installing apps to my SD card on android 4.2.2
the 16 goes really fast once you install a couple of gamelot games like MC4 or Nova 3
is there a mod out yet for 4.2.2? I know there was one for touchwiz based 4.1.2 roms, but I honestly can't stand the whole touchwiz ui
any help would be appreciated!

Did you try the method given in the below link(that doesn't even require rooting or installing any apps!)?
http://karthikkn.wordpress.com/2013...card-on-your-android-phone-without-rooting-it
If you are rooted you try these 2 apps.
1. Link2SD from http://www.link2sd.info
It will let you move app apk to external sd card.
2. This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35097315
It will let you move those 1gb data folders to external sd card.
Borh of these i expect uses some form of mount or ln command (google them if you want) under the hood. No special hack needed and you could DIY it if you fancy tying on the command prompt.
