[Q] Custom camera shutter tone - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys does anybody know how to replace the stock shutter sound in the stock camera app? Or is it even possible on the Incredible? I have tried everything to try and replace it but nothing worked. I have replaced the shutter tone in system/media/audio/ui which did nothing, as well as replaced the sound in the HTCCamera.apk in system/app which just made nothing play. I made sure my replacement file was exactly the same as the original down to bitrate and encoder, does the shutter tone need to be a certain length to work correctly? If anyone can help me out i'd appreciate it very much.

HELP Need a registry hack to removing camera sound

I have a HD2 with a official telstra customized ROM which doesn't have the option to turn off the camera shutter sound. Is there a registry hack to remove/disable this sound?

Change camera sound?

I'm trying to change the camera sound and found that just changing /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg with something else doesn't work.
Any ideas on how to do this properly?

[Q] How to replace camera shutter sound in CM 7.1?

I just flashed CM 7.1 to try and get an ICS-like theme going.
The ROM is great except for the camera shutter sound which is killing me!
Where can I find an alternative sound and which file should I replace?
Thanks!
Why not just turn the sound off or put it in vibrate mode when you're using the phone to take pictures? I know there's a setting in CM7 somewhere where you can disable the shutter sound itself, but it still makes the beep-beep sound when it auto focuses.
Download the app quicksetting from market and use it to turn system volume off, no more annoying beeps

the camera will b silent but you will still get a beep with autofocus, also you can find the cameraclick.ogg in /system/media/audio/ui, if you want the whole thing silenced then use the app i suggested above.

If you want to change the sound and not shut it down go to system/media/audio/ui
and take the cameraclickogg from there now download the sound you want then convert it to .ogg and rename to cameraclick
Hope i helped!
Thank you all for your suggestions. I know how to mute the shutter sound and have done so but that is not an optimal solution for me. The thing is I prefer to have shutter sound on but the stock one in CM is making my ears bleed [not really].
When I was on Sense I used the Amaze 4G camera app which has a very pleasant shutter sound. If anyone could extract that somehow I would be very thankful

Camera Problem

Hey guys,
Is there anyway to change the camera saturation levels in the phone? On the camera app (stock) i changed the saturation levels so that my pictures don't come out all in red (don't know if this is a problem for anyone else or just me) but when i go to another app for example snapchat, the settings are not saved. Anyone know if there is any possible solution?
Thanks!!

Disable Camera Sound??

Im on stoxn and can't seem to disable the camera sound. I renamed my camera file and video file to the .bak and it only disabled screen shot sound. I still have the camera sound any ideas?
Try this:

I figured it out.
The easiest way to disable video and camera sounds was to get to the ui section, and just change all camera and video names to .bak. If you should choose to want your annoying sounds again, then just remove the .bak ending. Screenshots as well as camera and video sounds are gone:thumbup:
