Hi guys,
First of all.. I'm using the HTC Sense Stock Rooted. (problem occured before rooting aswell). Before Froyo, there wasn't any problem, but there's now.
When I'm connected to Wifi, after around 5-10 inactivity.. my Wifi turns to 'verifiëren van WIRESLESSNAME'. In english.. I assume this will be verifying WIRELESSNAME. While this happens, I can browse websites, just slower.. but I can´t get mails or messages from Whatsapp. I have to disable Wifi and turn it on again to get the normal connection.
I mailed HTC about this problem, but they their advice was a hard reset (wich didn't work)
Anyone knows a solution for this?
I still need help.. I tried a different kernal and the latest radio.. but no effect. Still the same.

Hello mates
I try to surf by WiFi most of the time when I am at home but unfortunately my Desire deactivates WiFi ramdomly after ~ 1.5 minutes. The connection is not lost, WiFi is really deactivated! If I re-enable WiFi afterwards, the same occurs again
WiFi-Standby-Policy is on "Never" and I currently don't use any other WiFi-managing apps.
The problem is really pi**ing me off as I cannot simply browse that way :[

Anyone else having this issue?
What firmware and radio are you running?
Have you tried changing your Router to connect to a different Wi-Fi frequency channel, could be something to do with interference maybe?
FW 2.1-update1
Radio 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
Can't imagine that a wrong channel in my router forces my Desire to switch off WiFi... I'm forced to use channel 13 as I would have interferences otherwise
edit: changed it from 13 to 10, didn't change anything.
Could a hardreset solve the problem?
Yes, i was going to suggest you try a hard reset to get rid of any software bugs and set your device back to factory condition.
If that does not work, and if not already done so, then you could try rooting and flashing to a different rom. You could also try a different radio version too as this can improve signal strength of Wi-Fi.

Did a hardreset but problem still persists
I am still having this annoying bug In the meantime I did a hardreset 3 times and also bought another router -.-
Please help me!
I've seen a lot of people complaining about one problem or another on here, and it puzzles me greatly why more respondents don't say the bleeding obvious.. if you phone doesn't work, take it back! That's what warranties are for people!

Hey guys I just got my HTC Desire (Telus version) today and so far im loving. I setup the 3G to work with my carrier (Fido) and everything works fine and dandy, but the problem is after a while of not using the phone and then unlocking it to go back on the internet doesn't seem to work. The 3G and WiFi are still on but I need to turn them off then back on for it to work. Has anyone had problems with that before?
Cheers
Okay so I pinpointed the problem, supposedly when the screen turns off and the phone goes into Power Save Mode the WiFi loses connection. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can try? I bought the phone and its running android 2.2 and it is running Cyamogenmod-6.0.2-Desire.
Should I downgrade to android 2.1 just to see if it may work? Or maybe a different rom? I'm open to anything right now as I think I may sell the phone cause of this problem.
I don't have this problem with NeoPhyte's AuraxTSense 8.0 rom, I would kindly suggest that you give it a try.

I've rooted my Desire and it's running MIUI at the moment. This has happened before, but I've only just decided to come here. I reflashed the stock ROM (with Sense) and the issue is gone.
Basically, when I turn on the phone, it either doesn't connect to my cell network at all (no calls, text, etc.) or it takes a long time to do so. Then, when it does manage to connect, I don't get a data internet connection. When I first flash the ROM, it works fine, but then the next time I turn it on (or in the current case, I didn't even turn it off, it just happened where I lost my data connection). Has this happened to anyone else, and what could be causing this issue?
Note: I believe it also happened with CyanogenMod, but I haven't tried in a few months so I can't confirm a recent version.
What's your radio version? because that can also be the reason why it isn't connecting that well ;o
Guys i have a very strange problem and i was wondering if anyone experienced the same. I don't receive automatic emails from gmail (pushmail) when i'm on 3G unless i manually refresh from inside the application itself (Gmail v4.0.5)
If i connect to WiFi, then pushmail is working perfectly.
I'm on 1.28 since yesterday and unfortunately i have no idea if it was working before on 1.26, because as soon as i bought my one x i got the OTA update and installed it.
Anyone experienced this? Any ideas?
I found that to get everything working smoothly post 1.28 upgrade I needed to disable fastboot and reboot. After that lots of odd problems (like Widgets not refreshing) went away - it's worth a shot.
That's the first thing i tried actually...Unfortunately it didn't help
Hi all,
While at home, I have no issues.
When I'm away from home, I consistently lose service. The device doesn't notify me I'm out of service either; normally I have full bars. I know I have no service because my sms don't send, I can't make phone calls, and I have no data connectivity.
Roms...
It happened while running sandvold ics, I switched to nikez ics .. exact same issue was present. I switched over to a gingerbread rom and the same issue still persisted. So I believe this issue is rom independent.
Radio...
I'm using the latest radio 5.17.05.23.
Thanks in advance
Hey there, same here...
I noticed that sometimes when I leave a place where I had WLan my data connection wont come up. Seding still works. After I switch flight mode on and off all is fine again. Had this behaviour with GB and now with ICS(Sandvold) Roms...
Somebody has a clue where this could come from?
