One of the new features in Gingerbread (2.3.4) is voice and video chat in GTalk.

HTC Desire can't have video chat so Gingerbread 2.3.4 is unusual currently.

2.3.4 also includes bugfixes

Looking forward to trying this one out too..
Anyone got any recommendations for a good 3G Hotspot app? Don't care if it requires the tethering plan from the carrier or not, since work pays for it anyway.
Any clue if this one has the low incall volume that the other aosp Roms seem to all have? I love a nice clean gb that has been the only thing holding me back from making them my dd

The WiFi Tether app listed there works for me once I apply the settings listed in the OP. I'm on unbloated gingersense though, you may not need those settings for it to work. I'd try it with the default settings first (those worked for me when I ran CM7) and tweak from there. You may have play around with it a bit.

This roms plagued by the same low incall volume that every other incredible 2 AOSP rom suffers from wish this would get worked out that's the only thing holding me back as well

Weather animation stuttery

When I open the weather app the video is extremely jerky. Anyone else find this.
You'd think that on a flagship device, HTC would make sure at lest there stock apps would run, smoothly.
No such problem with my sensation.

Just tested and it is a bit at the start, but after that runs smooth.

yes. its pretty stuttery. Even my XE is much smoother. small issue but dun understand why it is present in the first place
Im having the same problem, I guess it's the stock apps.
Will get better tho till new update comes out...till then mo woryz, enjoy your HOX

Same here. It's shameful that a device like the hox with Tegra 3 should lag like this.

ICS Ice Cream Sandwich

I am thinking of going back to my LeeDroid rom.
The only good things about ICS is the custom install, one setting which helped with internal storage.
I liked the twitter app which let me set a notification tone for someone in particular.
I have found the speed of the menu and opening apps quite slow. The keyboard is annoying. Using the track ball for moving along text is too fast. I can't leave it on charge when it is fully charged because the phone will switch off. The contacts settings in People is basic and looks odd.
Does anyone agree?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Awesome deductive thinking Batman!
via xda app
The people thing is kinda basic I suppose compared to Sense.
The rest. I prefer ICS

I want my device faster but...still not going to such an old sense. Beauty + speed it's what i want
I guess it depends on priority and how you interpret two conditions. Speed and smooth. These stick together in different proportions and have completely different meaning.
Smoother ICS does not mean faster response, it just mainly higher FPS -"Frame rate (also known as frame frequency) is the frequency (rate) at which an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames.Frame rate is most often expressed in frames per second (FPS)" I just stick to GB roms for now.
I was using MIUI before and tried Sandvolds ICS to see what it was like.It runs really smooth and so far I've had no issues with it.
I don't really notice any lag, in fact a lot of my apps are running a lot better.

[ROM]Cyanogenmod GB 2.3.7 update 01/01/2013

Hello
I didn't work on this rom. But it is really stable and much faster than any ics of jb rom. If speed is the most important for you, check http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=vision
having use this rom for 3 days, very stable and much much smoother than the best jellybean avaialable
also with good battery life
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
I wonder what is changing on those nightlies. Wasn't aware they were keeping cm7 branch open

Does callrecorder (skawalex) work width this ROM?
Thanks

Auto Brightness does not work.
I don't listen to music on my cellphone.
Well since play music has to download the music from the server I'm assuming when the connection is bad is going to lag

but compared to any "newer" rom this is soooooo much smoother and faster. unbelievable. Will stay with it.
My phone keeps restarting with this rom, any ideas as to why?
Otherwise it's working extremely well.
Edit: Did a fix permissions with ROM manager, that might help.
Didn't get a random reboot...
This is probably a security fix
The last stable was in June I think and no updates for that have come out.

Flawlessly working camera app for cyanogenmod 10

I was hunting around for a camera that would work, when i found an app called camera ics +
No greenscreen to report anywhere, no blurriness, it just, works!
Could be useful for devs too? We could finally have a perfect cyanogenmod rom!

Can you pleases share me the camera.apk file please.
Heres the google play link mate, just come across one problem, iff you try and delete pictures and video through the app it force closes, but its not exactly a massive problem

Other than the green screen and no auto/manual focus during video, I don't find anything wrong with the stock CM 10/10.1 camera. There's no blurriness if the lighting is bright or flash is used.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
I just found it quite slow, and maybe the blurriness was just cos of the lack of auto focus Didnt realise that, but yea i wasnt that keen on it.

I'm getting best results with snap camera on codefire x after a lot of experementing. Camera ICS+ hasn't seen much development lately like camera jb+.
But to be honest, imho there is no better camera like any sense stock before latest officially suppported by htc, especially panorama mode.
