I had originally an unbranded phone. next I received an OTA update from vodafone which.reduced my phone to rubble.
I rooted and replaced the Voda software with WWE english 2.2.
Now I get no OTA update notifications.
So have their been any recent updates to telephone, os? If so how do I need to apply them?
All the best,
Sam
Rooted = no official ota
Look at roms in development section for updates.
You can't have had an unbranded phone and then get the Vodafone OTA as that would mean you were Vodafone-branded from the start. The latest Vodafone ROM is 2.33.161.2 - the RUU is in Android Development if you want to downgrade at all

Hi
My desire has firmware : 1.20.207.3 CL171460 release-keys
I'm debating debranding it and putting the latest generic rom on it.
The reason for this is I'm moving from the UK to NZ, but would like to get the 2.2 firmware upgrade.
From what I've read, debranding will allow me to upgrade when I'm out of the UK.
Is this safe to do ? I don't want to brick my new phone !!
Can you advise how I would do this or if there is any other option for me !!
Many Thanks
Hi sorry to pick this one up as not answered but I am in exactly this position.
Bought a Desire from o2 in UK and moved to New Zealand.
VF NZ sim works straight out the box,
but will I be able to 2.2 this phone? My sw is 1.20.207.3.
Obviously dont need any o2 features on this phone as I wont be using their network?
Cheers from both.
Debrand using a ROM and guide, both can be found on this forum. I used a WWE ROM and it worked for me without any issues. You should then get any OTA updates as soon as they're released in your region.
Hope this helps.
Rik.

hey guys, I got a desire and I'm new to android. so I have some questions:
1. my firmware is 1.19.707.7 and I know 1.21 is the lastest, but it says i have the newst one. what's wrong ? ( my Desire is unlocked and unbranded)
2. Froyo is coming to Desire this weekend, but how I know if I'll also get it? cause I heard only europe desire will get it.
3.How to root my Desire? I heard its different in 1.19.707.7 ?
4.My desire I think is from singapore, can I change the firmware to europe one ?
Thanks
1. There is nothing wrong. 1.19.707.7 is the latest Asia WWE rom.
2. The news was that Froyo is coming out this weekend across Europe (meaning Desire with EU roms) so you can't get it. At least not via OTA (but the real question is if it will actually get out).
3. Rooting method depends on bootloader version (at least paul's method).
Read about paul's method here and about unrevoked method here.
4. If you can flash custom roms, there shouldn't be a problem flashing different official rom.
First you have to root and then flash.
2.if I flash the europe official rom to my Desire, I'll also get OTA of Froyo?
3.my bootloader version is 0.80.0000
-Where is the paid applications? I can't find them in my desire, I see only free applications.
-If I flash to the official EU rom, I won't face any problems because it's official right? also My root will stay?
thanks man!
Hi, in my personal opinion, I think you will only get update if you r in Europe country plus your phone must be debranded and unlocked.
My htc desire is flash with the 1.21 HTC WWE roms and I'm in UK but I still can't get any update yet.
So i'm not sure whether or not the update is a false alarm to all of us.

Paid Android Market apps are available only in certain countries - list
Root will stay only if you flash pre-rooted official rom. But hey, unrevoked rooting method is very very simple so rooting again shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks!
just a question :
if I flash the europe official rom to my Desire, I'll also get OTA of Froyo?
Because Froyo has support of my language and I must it
Anyone got a link to the Vodafone UK OTA update ZIP? It's not for me but someone on the Vodafone forum who's still on the original Vodafone ROM
Version 1.75.161.2
Check android development eddie, football and xmoo are always posting branded ruu's.

It's not the RUU I want, I need the OTA ZIP
I'm not sure if there is a difference between Netherlands Unbranded HOX's and HOX with cid HTC_E11 ...
I've got both.. And I wonder: Has the official JB OTA already come to those phones?
Thanks!
I dont think it should take more than a month if unbranded, but you are planning to flash a custom rom then you can flash the leaked 1.33 hboot once it gets released(should be within a week) to elevate users(its released to a specific list of IMEI's who are registered to Elevate programme)
The difference between branded and unbranded is often the CID and ROM buildnumber.
Your HOX with CID HTC__E11 is an unbranded dutch device.
If you have a branded (by example Vodafone) the CID would be something like VODAP102.
The latest ROM build number for unbranded dutch device is at the moment 2.17.401.2, the next Jelly Bean for unbranded would be something like 3.14.401.?? where the 401 is a kind of regional number standing in this case for European WWE (World Wide English). I don't know the numbers or CID's for branded dutch HOX, if they even exist!?
Jelly Bean has not arrived yet, as you can see in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967980, these are the only confirmed JB OTA's pushed out by HTC, as where the one for Elevated users is kind of beta, pushed to a small group of elevated users.

I've got the HTC_E11, which is in the list of confirmed, which means if I go back to stock: I can get the OTA?
Does not really matters much, since i'm on CM10 which is already JB.. Though I do want the Sense cam.. xD

The E11 is in the list of currently confirmed compatible for the leaked version from the elevate members.
Meaning your device is compatible so you can flash the leaked JB. But no official JB update for your device yet
That is what the Leaked by Elevate members means.
Hope this helps !
I've got an unlocked, unbranded Australian One M8 (HTC__039) but I'm not getting any updates to Lollipop. I've installed all the updates but the latest has kept me at 4.4.4 (Sense 6.0, Software 3.32.710.9, SDK 6.25, build 3.32.710.9 CL397296 release-keys) and saying there's no further updates. I'm not S-OFF so I can't change my CID to apply another OTA and I want to update before I start using it and have to reconfigure things again after the update. I was under the impression that HTC have released Lollipop for all unlocked variants now?
Am I doing something wrong or have HTC not released an update for my CID yet?
Your phone is Vodafone-branded, hence no update yet
It's not Vodafone branded. Vodafone branded ones carry a CID VODAP*** this is HTC__*** which are the international variants.

Vodaphone is also international. And if you mean it's wwe.....it's not, wwe has software number 401.

Well, not sure why it's listed on the Vodafone Australia support site then...

But no, it's not the European unlocked so no update yet...
No ota update
Hello,
Can some one help me out or at least try.
I have installed the stock ROM of KitKat 4.4.4 3.28.401.9 from the links provided on my HTC ONE M8. I have stock recovery, unlocked bootloader, S-ON and non rooted but I cannot receive any update of the new software Lollipop. Is there an app or something else that is blocking the update?
3-4 days ago when it was released in Europe, I have managed to download the update from the phone, but I couldn't install it because of some error. Then I decided to wipe the system and install the stock rom again and now ... no update what so ever ? Any help ?
Thanks a lot!!!

Vodafone just happen to have the latest version too. It's still not Vodafone.
I did contact HTC Australia today and it IS an unlocked Australian version, but they advised they have not released the update to Australian customers yet and HTC Australia have not been told by HTC HQ when the release will be available
Seems a bit of a poor effort to me - The phone is the same and it's unlocked so why shouldn't all unlocked variants get the update at the same time???

It's probably a network unlocked phone but taken from vodaphone. The software number does prove it comes originally from vodaphone.
Any news?
Hey guys do you have any news about Lollipop Update for the HTC One M8?
I've got an Australian factory unlocked version and in these days I checked so many times if there was the Lollipop OTA but nothing appears... Is it normal or something is wrong?
I'm worried now, I was wondering if someone of you could help me or give me more informations about it.
Thanks for your time
