12.19 3D PACKAGE WITH BETTER PERFORMANCE FOR TESTING
ok. guys this is my 3d package i'm getting 22 fps on neocore quadrant 675
PLEASE READ.
1-you have the following. 3d driver 11.26 and 11.29 with gralloc 11.29. you have 2 extra drivers,libGLESv2_adreno200.so, and libq3dtools_adreno200.so. also bootanimation.zip, build.prop, froyo.user.conf, initrd.gz, rootfs.img, STARTUP.TXT, (ts-calibration for RHOD), and zimage and modules.
NOW. combination. all the new kernel updates with 3d 11.26 won't work. you will get a lots of flicakering. if you want to use 11.26 to test the performance use the zimage and module from the package. 3d 11.29 all the kernel updates works fine.
2- guys on your startup make sure is basic. only what you devices use to run. why i said this, because people put a lot of crap inside the startup.
3- im using rootfs.img 11.08 and initrd.gz 08.18 they works great for me.
4-3d drivers was openGLE ES-CM 1.0 now it reads openGLE ES-CM 1.1, was MSM7500 now it reads MSM7230. YOU CAN CHECK THIS USING QUADRANT SYSTEM INFO.
5- REMEMBER GUYS THIS IS ONLY A TEST. PEOPLE WILL HAVE DIFFERENT PERFORMANCE THEN OTHERS.
put everything on root sd card. bootanimation.zip,build.prop,(froyo.user.conf goes in your conf file), initrd.gz, modules and zimage, rootfs.img,(STARTUP.TXT use the one that you use for your devices), (ts-calibration use the one that you use for your devices), 3d drivers plus gralloc.
6-"WIFI" WE KNOW PEOPLE HAVING PROBLEM WITH WIFI, PLEASE FIND WHAT KERNEL THAT WORKS FOR YOU. WE GETTING A LOTS OF KERNEL UPDATES,
7- "BATTERY TRICK" CHARGE YOUR PHONE TO FULL 100%. PHONE MUST BE OFF
The trick is simple. Turn off your phone, plug it into the charger WHILE IT'S OFF, and wait for the charging lights to show up. When you see them, turn on your phone (into winmo) and boot android via haret. Wait till android boots up and the battery logo is showing charging. Then you can disconnect the charger. I'm using FRX03 with the latest kernel,
8-MY GOAL WAS TO GET MY PHONE 21-24 FPS. 22 FPS IS NOT BAD. IM VERY HAPPY KOW.
GUYS. MY PHONE RUN OUTSTANDING.
9-HAVE FUN WITH IT. REMEMBER GUYS, THIS IS JUST A TEST.
10- THANKS

Maybe it's a noob question, but I can't acces the froyo.user.conf file.
I am using a neopeek build (SuperFroyo-Port). So i've formatted my sd-card in several partitions. (Fat32 partition and ext2). If i connect my phone (in WinMo) to the pc, i can only browse the Fat32 partition. But the froyo.user.conf file is on the ext2 partition. So i can't edit/replace the froyo.user.conf file
Can anyone help me, please?

Go to post. #1 and download this file (3d driver) libGLES_qcom . so and put it on your SD card. Then download my froyo. Conf and replace the one that you have. Good look. Thanks you
sprint htc touch pro 2 (rhod400)
Hi ,tiad8
i have a topaz and i am using VaniljEclair by neopeek Kenia
Here is how i mounted the driver:
first i did as you said : added in the eclair.user.conf file with those words
mount --bind /sdcard/libGLES_qcom.so /system/lib/egl/libGLES_qcom.so ,
but after i rebooted the phone , i founded that the driver had not been replaced.
then, i did this :
i connect the phone with pc via usb and
i replaced the orignal libGLES_qcom.so at sdcard/system/lib/egl/libGLES_qcom.so
with the downloaded one and rebooted
is it right?
thank you , ACL & tiad8
i just mount the driver on my own way (see the upper post ), haha.
and the picture of rovio shows up too!
here is my feedback:
no screen tearing and flickering!
angry birds lite beta2 crashes and wont show up,
1.35 and 1.42 are ok
can reveal background grass and rocks
lags , but not so baddly
i love you guys!

Speed is good on games.
Just mount this file (libGLES_qcom.so). Thanks to ACL. We have and easy way to mount this using froyo conf. Just edit froyo conf and add this command.
mount --bind /sdcard/libGLES_qcom.so /system/lib/egl/libGLES_qcom.so

hello!
i am newbie i dont know how to use linux. can you tell me pls if I make right.
i have froyo
i changed froyo.conf file with yours and copied libGLES_qcom.so to SD card..
am i doing right?
your file in zip is not libGLES_qcom.so its with double so.so (libGLES_qcom.so.so) do i have to rename and delete .so ??
another all-nighter but unfortunately i have nothing new :-(
I wanted a real test to i loaded up the old sense ui build to see what can be done now. Right away the weather animations were crashing. Realised that our gralloc isnt allocating enough mem for those animations. After a few more mods finally got it to the point the live-wallpapers were not crashing but not properly working either. Some bitmaps werent displaying properly.
sense also i think uses a custom mdp headers because im getting copybit incompatibilities with mdp. I guess ill have to look at the desire source to really see whats up. I guess i'll concentrate more on performance tho ..
anyways .. feel free to buy me coffee
Tested on Rhodium 400 TP2...(I assume, it's a US Cellular phone)
Second lib works better than the first, as posted by another user, I now see a graphic (logo) for the startup of angry birds which I had never seen before.
Gallery loads and actually works now.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the first posted lib worked a little better (faster) with Labyrinth Lite.
People should note that you must turn on Hardware 3d in order to utilize this library. If you're using the XDAndroid loader, just check the HW3d box, otherwise edit your Startup.txt.
I just got my phone last week specifically to run android on it...thank you all for your efforts. I am attempting to setup a development environment, perhaps one day I can be of use.

EDIT:
Sorry, I should have read it
more carefully, it is actually based on KaguDroids AOSP (a very fast AOSP) that was based CM's r2. Either way it is fast and works great! It has quiet a few things from CM 5.0.7 in it though
Can someone confrim that Galactic core and Aquarium wallpapers are working in this rom because in other clean roms they just starting but after screen goes out then you hit screen unlock button it changes to default wallpaper.

Awesome! I'm downloading now, I'll feedback on it later.
@hanser01, if this was based off of CyanogenMod 5.0.7-DS, why don't you just pick up where Darchstar left off with Darchdroid (GSM Edition). He's currently looking for someone in the GSM Hero realm to take it over since he doesn't have access to a GSM Hero.

think they mean Darchstar's ROM. they've taken Darchstar's ROM and are working on it.
Anyway a little feedback for your ROM. I realised it has the same "insufficient storage space" bug as a few of the other Eclair ROMs. So I can't install any new apps from market or from my SD card.
The only way I know how to fix it is using the Terminal Emulator app but since your ROM doesn't come with it, I can't install it because of the bug even if I have the apk in my SD card. So it's sort of a Catch 22 situation, if you know what I mean.
Thing is, am I able to just manually copy the Terminal Emulator apk file into your "EzHero0.1_signed.zip" file in the "/system/app" folder so that the Terminal Emulator app is installed automatically during flashing? Or do I have to re-sign the whole package again?
Look`s great but i need functional BT with my CAR BT KIT. :-(

Download and install the latest android sdk .also Java jdk find and download autosign. Do this all by searching. I would download a custom rom as a template for your update.zip. extract the data folder and the Meta folder and put into a new folder, go into Meta folder keep clicking through the folders inside Meta one till you find update-script and open it in notepad.
Delete everything except the part saying something like copy package DIRATA and the show progress before it. Once that's all done put the Apps you want into the data folder zip up the data and Meta folders, when you open the zip folder you should only see those 2 no others! Resign it using autosign and flash

This bug normally come with the rom which have data/app partition but forgot to set the correct permition, just modify the update-script after the line:
copy_dir PACKAGE:data DATA:
and add this line
set_perm_recursive 1000 1000 0755 0644 DATA:app
or us adb to change the permition
adb remount
adb chowner system.system /data/app

do you use a hex editor to edit the update-script? reason I'm asking is when i open it with Notepad, it appears as a whole continuous chunk of text. If I open it with Wordpad or MS Word, it's nicely formatted, but when I save it, what should I save it as? There are a few options like Text Document, RTF, Unicode and MS-Dos format. Whatever I choose, when I reopen the saved document with Notepad, it's not in a continuous chunk of text anymore and it's nicely formatted. And as I had expected, when trying to flash this, error msg appeared and the flashing stopped.
Maybe I'll just wait for Hanser to fix this in the next version instead or I'll try using ADB at my home PC.
I just found http://www.androidx86.org/ and took the time to break the dsk and the iso images to build a boot.ini via grub sitting in a directory on the disk version.
Really all you need to do is winimage the dsk from the tar.gz and then grab all the files and setup grubldr in boot.init
Anyhow It booted! On my two laptops I generally get wireless (not stable), and no sound, and vesa, maybe nvidafb on m200. The ibm t60 shows hda_intel on lsmod but files seems to be missing. The m200 didn't mention sound in the console output. The graphics didn't work on the high end (black out), but vesa did. Standby doesn't seem right but thats likely google standby behavior on a unit in gimp mode. I took some video of it running on my laptops need to upload it somewhere. I will join the x86 forum here in a moment. Just wanted to share the build here. Wish it had audio.
I don't think the android build is as advanced as what is here on the phones so development wise I'm curious if I can swap the system files from the phone to the latop but homework calls. I'm uploading the build now it says 200 minutes on my very slow connection.
Can I just say download mssmissions system.img and run the system.img or will binary-arm stuff throw me thus I need to pretend I am a gentoo user and compile stuff or is it all python and java and intependent in the system.img?
Can I merge an ubuntu and android?
Any pointers as far as setting up a dev enviroment within android? You can also run android.iso vrom virtualbox and I'm pretty sure you can tweak it to get sound but I got none if anyone is interested in that. If anyone can give me any kernel advice vs compiling known linux drivers that be nice. Can i confidently think it'll work cause I have generic linux sources. Any sage advice for ati x1300 driver or a nvidia g5500 mobile card? Also my waacom didn't work on my tablet . I just wanted to post the build someone mirror it?
When its done uploading I will edit this.. Don't want the message to time out..
I was very impressed by the browsing speed of droid on the machines...
I just sent a pm to a mod who will move this thread.

As far as differences in the directions to build your own or to just download the donut prebuild, I made the build I put grub in C:\boot\grub this is not the default. Wingrub installs the stage files to C:\grub by default so in the directions I went that route. I know it works either way cause I just redid that portion following my directions and it gave me stable mute android with wifi for about 30-50 minutes. Thats the only thing different between the build and the directions, and I believe if you move C:\grub to c:\boot\grub it would still work as they are booth search path for grldr.. Anyhow..
Or go download the cdrom iso's and burn it to cdrom/usb
hehehe

eclair install not going so well initrd.gz referenced but not included on usb image. downloading iso which is good to have anyways for virtual boot in virtualbox. I hope initrd.gz and kernel are in there, but sadly they are older too. So donut maybe better after all. I'm waiting to test eclair. The donut kernel addresses system.sfs the eclair references system.img perhaps i should convert the format : I would try to do a rename but I am downloading the iso.
What does it have common with kaiser on android???
It it relates. It's like sql.
Select Interest from community where Tangent=Related
Okay man its a stretch. I just got excited at the prospect of running android on my other hardware. I should migrate my tangent babbling soon. I shouldn't even be working on this at all. I.E. what does this have to do with physics ii?
Duh.
But, when I saw it I thought ok great I boot android I'll be better able to work on android builds here maybe help out with the phantom haret issue all you l33t experts ignore. I.e. the last post about me not being up to date on stuff is crap. Seriously goto the n00b thread and fix my haret issue with instructions as clear as these..
Also kernel compiling is kernel compiling. I should go to the pure android forum and will move there I guess. But playing with this makes it much easier to work with kaiser droid. From what I've been reading it also makes me wonder about kubuntu and droid as booting android from ubuntu on os86 was mentioned and the kernel compile process seemed straight forward, so it may work? Making it work on my system I could then download all the dev stuff and maybe spew out a cross compile; but then again I'm not some sort of gcc guru. I'm just trying to get to know it is all? Why you downing me brah?
Also this build looks way less advanced maybe I can get some kind of merge on the sources here for the benefit of my 86x. It's funny how sound is an issue on 86x as much as it is here and even that says hey maybe in the 86x world with a keyboard and mouse could soomething so generic be fixed on 86x that it fixes a kaiser issue? But I agree were now in tangent territory. Need to find a better home and give it a link in a more suitable audience/ stronger relationship area.. I mean the affinity isn't that much higher.
I just got done building the last boot.ini grub environment. I'll leave it on that note and find a better place to continue this and link this to that and start over if i continue this work/effort. I just like people in this forum so I wanted them to benefit from my download. But I only was so stoked because I forget how easy it is to download an iso and boot from it when I have to do something else cause my m200 doesn't have a cdrom. Anywho..

Open the each iso (WinImage, Winrar, MagicIso, or other iso program) then extract system.sfs and place it in its respective directory under grub
(i.e:
android-x86-1.6-r2.iso extract system.sfs from iso and put in C:\Grub\android-donut
android-x86-eeepc-2.0.iso extract system.sfs from iso and put in C:\Grub\android-eclair )
Edit boot.ini to include:
C:\grldr="Start GRUB4DOS"
Happy booting!
Alternatively:
You can of course boot the iso's using virtualbox

I find this interesting, and somewhat relevant, at any rate it looks fun to play with
I may have to experiment with this myself, lol, wonder if it'll work on my spare laptop? ........

Looks like emulation is horrible. Thats sad its a linux kernel and it has a host someone needs to paravirtualize android? I'm reading the android thread it seems like alsa sound should just work so I'm being a ninnny nanny by not compiling stuff into the g.d. kernel, yet bug reports are abundant for lack of certain functions on different devices. grr.
This thread maybe moving soon to:
xda-developers > Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development ?
bummer the emulator doesn't work well.. I wonder if the x86 kernel does virtualized arm support, someone need to do that...
man this is a distracting bummer. I have to compile a kernel.. I just installed a grub ubuntu too , I need to see if I can just start android in that no matter what, I may get lucky.. maybe even luckier if someone will hook it up in the other thread ..

I made a working android-x86 alpha eclair 2.1 build with gapps. Designed for aspire one but also should work on vmware and vbox. Will boot and work (somewhat) on most computers (built with generic kernel config so all available .ko drivers are there) however you may have to modprobe the drivers for ethernet and wlan for your hardware. http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=19299&p=116492&hilit=aoa110#p116492
Make a bootable usb with unetbootin from the .iso is the best way to use it and you can install to hdd too from it.
Password?
just wanted to give the above aspireone-x86 build a try but the rar is password protected?

Android on your Windows Mobile HTC Device...
Supports Blackstone, Diamond, Diamond 500, Fuze, Raphael, Raphael 800, Rhodium, Tilt 2 & Topaz
This thread is dedicated to FroYo, and NOT Eclair releases!
First things first, this post is PURELY an instruction guide for noobies that aims to reflect the latest status and downloads (give or take a day).
I am not an Android developer, I do not create any of this software... this is done by far more talented people than I. This thread is purely to collate the latest info for Android on Windows Mobile HTC devices and make deploying Android on your device as simple as possible.
If you have new information that should be added to the guide (and is relevant for ALL folks) then feel free to add to the thread and I'll update the OP frequently.
These opening few posts should have ALL the latest info you need to get started (no need to trawl through the threads).
The only time you 'might' need to look in the thread is for 'breaking news' info that is no more than a day old...i.e. The Opening Post is the place!
Credits: There are too many to mention, and many are unknown, but basically the guys poring Android to our devices should be thanked, along with all those making the effort to help others test, document, or use their work (along with those who provide answers to the same questions, time and time again). These are the guys who deserve the credit. From memory...

InitRD - 20100813-b11116a
Rootfs - 20100828-c29a486
System - XDAndroid 2.2.AOSP.3.9.10.RC.2.2

Touchscreen Calibration is back! During first clean install, touch each of the five calibration points CAREFULLY to calibrate your screen before installation completes. Plus, general touchscreen fixes and power off support - Credits to Oliwe
Back to basics System... stock Android system.
Takes about 5 mins usage before the system starts to speed up, so expect it to be a little sluggish for the first 5 mins.
None 3D devices may not show boot screen, so please be patient during install (screen will show black)
I'd advise that once installed, you also launch SpareParts, and configure the window animations etc to 'fast'
There is a chance that after installation, some Startup.txt settings MAY be incorrect for your device. If you discover any mistake, PLEASE let me know, I will correct asap. I need your help on this guys.
How To Install (CAB Version)
Step 1 - Prepare your SD Card
Find a nice clean SD card to load Android on.
You can either format your card to get it entirely clean, or you can leave all the files you may already have on there.
*Warning* - If you have valuable data on your card, back it up. Android is usually safe, but if you can't afford to lose the data on your card, don't risk it!
Some cards have difficulty working, there is a POSSIBILITY this is due to the formatting of the card. If in doubt, format to FAT32, not FAT16
Step 2 - Download and install the CAB
Download and install the following 'full package' cab (a collection of ALL the files you'll need to run Android on your device) by clicking the XDAndroid Cab button below.
You MUST install on the Storage Card. The cab file will take a couple of minutes to install Android. Please be patient.
For those that are interested the cab files does the following:
- Installs Android in the root of the SD Card
- Deploys the correct Startup.txt for the device (the user can choose their device type)
- Adds a high res icon for Android in the root of the SD Card
- Installs a shortcut in Program Files named "Android" (launches Haret.exe)
- Installs the high res icon in the registry for WM6.5 users
Step 3 - Run Android
Android is now installed... So launch 'Android' from your Program Files menu in WinMo. Your phone should reboot into Android with 2 quick vibrations.
Have patience... the first time you do this can take a LONG time (3 mins or more). During the first boot on SOME devices, you will be asked to calibrate the screen. This is very similar to Windows Mobile screen calibration (except it's in text mode).
The reason the first boot takes longer is that Android is 'preparing' your device for the first time.
How To Install (ZIP Version)
Step 1 - Prepare your SD Card
Find a nice clean SD card to load Android on.
You can either format your card to get it entirely clean, or you can leave all the files you may already have on there.
*Warning* - If you have valuable data on your card, back it up. Android is usually safe, but if you can't afford to lose the data on your card, don't risk it!
Some cards have difficulty working, there is a POSSIBILITY this is due to the formatting of the card. If in doubt, format to FAT32, not FAT16
Step 2 - Download and extract the ZIP
Download and install the following 'full package' zip(a collection of ALL the files you'll need to run Android on your device) by clicking the XDAndroid zip button below.
You MUST unzip to the ROOT of the Storage Card. The zip file will take a short while to extract. Please be patient.
Once you've extracted the zip:
- Click Auto-Setup.exe to configure XDAndroid for your particular device
Step 3 - Run Android
Android is now installed... So launch 'Android' from your Program Files menu in WinMo. Your phone should reboot into Android with 2 quick vibrations.
Have patience... the first time you do this can take a LONG time (3 mins or more). During the first boot on SOME devices, you will be asked to calibrate the screen. This is very similar to Windows Mobile screen calibration (except it's in text mode).
The reason the first boot takes longer is that Android is 'preparing' your device for the first time.
If you want to exit Android and go back to Windows Mobile, then you need to shut down / reboot. To do so with the latest Android releases, hold down the 'end call' button until you see a menu appear.
If this fails to work, then the only option is remove the battery or press the reset button.
Known Issues
Many things are still not working properly, and the developers are fully aware of 99% of them.
SDCard - Most SDCards are working, but if you the 'waiting for SDCard' message, you should try one of these fixes (and please let us know if it works)
Fix 1: Format your card with this tool http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/
Fix 2: Edit your startup.txt file and add these entries to your cmdline:
set cmdline "lcd.density=240 msmts_calib=0x395.0x3c9.0x79.0x77 clock-7x00.a11=500 msmvkeyb_toggle=off pmem.extra=1 gsensor_axis=-2,-1,3
msmsdcc_1bit msmsdcc_fmax=14000000 msmsdcc_nopwrsave"
Fix 3: Tell your wife / girlfriend that you are about to make some modifications to her phone... change the ringtone and steal her old Class 2 SD Card to use with Android. She will never discover what you have done, and if she does, you'll be able to use Android to send texts to your former girlfriends ;-)
SDCard - A few users have claimed to have had trouble using their SD Cards after installing XDAndroid. Some of those have reformatted the SD Card, and it worked, some couldn't recover it. This is a minority of users, but be warned.
Camera - Not working
GPS - working
Battery Status - Highly problematic for most users (don't trust the capacity Android tells you, it's simply up and down a lot, and highly inaccurate)
WiFi - Working for most people, suspected to cause slight heat, definitely drains the battery faster than WinMo.
Audio - Speaker working for most people, microphone can have issues
Deep Sleep - Working for most people, but can have issues waking up (sometimes, it will not wake up)
GPRS - Working
3G - Working for most
PIN Code - Unknown
GSensor - Working (Screen only handles 0 and 270 degrees)
Bluetooth - Experimentally working (don't expect too much, but it's working for a number of users)
OpenGL ES - 'should' be working but only for Blackstone... more to follow soon
USB - Supported, but will NOT operate in mass storage mode. You can charge via USB and you can debug, but forget accessing your files by it.
Headphone Socket - Semi working (see FAQ for details on how to make it work)
Application Errors: It's very common to see 'Application (xxxxxx) is not responding: Force Close or Wait'. Click wait. I do not know the precise reason for this, but from what I can gather, it COULD be related to the slow speed of the SD Card causing the app response times to JUST be a little too slow for Android's liking, thus causing the message. This seems to happen more after bootup or wakeup when the device is busy doing stuff in the background.
Cannot choose ringtones: This is believed to be caused by the media scanner failing (due to discovering some filenames with none English characters). The best option of all is to use a CLEAN SD Card. But, if you insist on hosting other files on the same SD Card, you MUST make sure they have English character filenames.

Cab will be here in the next hour... but...
This is major move from Eclair to FroYo, and it's slightly slower than the Eclair release (so far).
This is normal though, since many of the Eclair release issues where ironed out, but with FroYo we take a small step backwards before we can progress again...
This release is VERY untested... I used it for 30 mins on a Blackstone only... no other devices tested yet
There is newer system version

Hi,
many thanks for quick explanation and I'm sorry for so quick reply
Will be Sense UI included in this build?
Or where can I get Sense UI for Android?
Many thanks
looks like just an update from 2.1 to 2.2 - no bug-fixes or new working features, right?
downloading now to have a play
OMFG!! YES!!
android 2.2 has calendar sync to exchange (2007) natively!. this release has hammered yet another nail into WM coffin!
also it looks like my 2.1 install was broken - seems noticably faster and touchscreen seems to be working a bit more predicably.
sorry but where is the file.
:-D First post, Step 2 -> Biiig black button
sorry being a noob, all done and running.

No it does not have Sense. Why would you want it?
You can get virtually all the same widgets from other sources. Sense is a massive resource drain (esp on XDAndroid), and on non 3D supported hardware
If you want the flipclock, you can get it from multiple places, the wallpaper, the wallpaper, and similar widgets are all floating around too.

Chapters of this tutorial:
[1]Formatting SD card
[2]Installing Froyo X red
[3]Installing Camera
[4]Finishing up
Downloads
1 Froyo X Red http://www.multiupload.com/16UTFCYLTA
2 kernel+libs http://www.multiupload.com/YGVM8VELPV
3 Haret+Startup.txt-Ts-Calibration http://www.multiupload.com/33Z52W8L14
4 If having problems with booting android try this startup.txt
[1]Formatting SD card
Easy as pie.
put your memory card in a sd card reader (your blackstone will do fine) and plug it in your pc/laptop.
open My pc and look for your memory card and right click on it.
Click Format
http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/3646/16774455.png
Ok great Sd card is formatted and ready to go. no lets move on..
[2]Installing froyo X Red /B]
ok first things first download Froyo X Red and Haret+Startup.txt-Ts-Calibration.
Then unpack Froyo X Red to the root of your memory card(root means on your memory card not in an folder on your memory card)
Then open up Haret+Startup.txt-Ts-Calibration and copy all the files to the root of your memory card.
Now unmount your Blackstone or Sd card reader from your pc.Put the Sd card in your blackstone(if it isnt already there) navigate to your storage card and open the file Haret
Now it shoud just give you a bunch of text and a little linux penguin let it load for a while(note: It coud take some minutes so dont think it wont boot)
it shoud boot. now follow the set-up and sync your google account.then turn off your blackstone and reboot it.so it boots in windows mobile again.when its in windows mobile go to the next step!
[3]Installing Camera
so android working accordingly everything set up but still no camera..
its time to change that
download kernel+libs
simply unpack the zip to your memory card..
overwrite zImage
thats that your done. enjoy android with working camera!
[4]Finishing up
this isnt really a neccesary step but I do recommend it.
open up spare parts and set the Window animation and Transition animation to Fast
and your done! have fun with your brand new Android phone..
dont forget to check this thread for updates!
Ts-calib for Blackstone. Rmove extension and put it in your andboot folder.
You will also need the "lib_camera" folder in the root of your SD-Card for camera to function. This is missing in this ROM distribution, but you can find the link for it in the first post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883966
Is this FroyoX build of yours still based on the Huawei U8150 from Neopeek? Just wondering of curiosity.
Hello,
I just tried with the 3 different camera modules, and with and without oc.
I used calibration from this thread and also from an older install of mine.
Find attached my STARTUP.txt.
I always have the same result.
Haret Booting OK
Passing Boot animation OK
Unlock SIM card OK
Then during the setup process, after clicking on the droid, it freezes and the image stay put, I can not do anything but soft reset. It does it at different stages: Time setup, or google account setup, or location setup...
If there is a way I can give you more information about what's going on please ask.
Cheers,
ok for those who are having crashes from setup screen: THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME ON MY BLACKSTONE AND MY WORK WITH OTHER DEVICES!!
OPTION (1)
1) WHEN YOU REACH SETUP SCREEN REMOVE SIM CARD ONLY.....NOT BATTERY!
2) NOW CARRY ON WITH SETUP SCREEN AND SKIP EVERYTHING IT MAY FREEZE FOR 5SEC OR SO JUST WAIT!
3) NOW YOUR AT HOME SCREEN NAVIGATE TO (SETTINGS, WIRELESS & NETWORKS, MOBILE NETWORKS, ACCESS POINT NAME.......CHOOSE YOUR PROVIDER!
4) NOW THAT YOU HAVE PROVIDER AND IT HAS A GREEN DOT TO THE RIGHT OF IT YOU NEED TO POWER OFF YOUR DEVICE!
5) REPLACE YOUR SIM CARD AND POWER UP IN WM AND THEN RUN HARET AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO WITH NO FREEZING IF YOU HAVE THE 3G ICON SHOW IN YOUR STATUS BAR AT THE TOP!!
OPTION (2)
THIS REQUIRES SPEED BUT WILL WORK BUT YOU HAVE TO BE FAST YOU MAY HAVE TO REBOOT LEAST 3 TIME BECAUSE IT MAY FREEZE!
BOOT HARET WHEN YOU REACH SETUP SCREEN THIS TIME LEAVE SIM CARD IN BUT TRY TO SKIP EVERYTHING AS QUICK AS U CAN, TO GET TO HOME SCREEN, IF YOU MANAGE TO GET TO HOME SCREEN THATS THE SETUP PROCESS DONE, IF YOUR PHONE FREEZES RESTART IT AGAIN YOU SHOULD BE AT HOME SCREEN THIS TIME, YOU NEED TO GO TO (SETTINGS, WIRELESS & NETWORKS, MOBILE NETWORKS, ACCESS POINT NAME.......CHOOSE YOUR PROVIDER THEN GO BACK 1 THEN GO TO NETWORK OPERATORS AND SELECT AUTOMATICALLY IT WILL SEARCH THEN AFTER 10 SECONDS FREEZE...........REBOOT AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO! (NOTE YOU SHOULD DO THIS QUICKLY FROM WHEN YOUR HOME SHOWS HOME SCREEN BECAUSE IT WILL FREEZE WITHIN 40 SECONDS)
i know it alot of messing around but its worth it,........if you want to try this build out because its fast fast fast!!!!!
hope it works for you all
These issues are been delt with ive been told in the nxt update............no camera working at the moment
Thank you, that helped.
Now testing other functionalities.
I changed end button mapping to "back home" as it seems it had same mapping as power button initialiy. I also put animations and transitions to fast.
I synchronized my google account and gmail/contacts/agenda are fine.
I'll keep you up to date. But, so far, this is definitely the best versions I ever tested. It is amazingly fast!
This is awesome work!
UPDATE1:
- Wifi : not OK.
This is a shame because as I do not have data plan, it means I can not download apps from the market without wifi, and I would really like to download some apps. I would really appreciate a fix!
- Gallery: OK
- SMS receive and send: OK
- Camera: Not OK
- Music Player: Partially OK because there audio stuttering (note: is this applicable to this version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905085&page=4)
Update2:
-Wifi is OK (just has to change zImage and modules)
- Market: OK (download apps included)
Update3:
- Screen orientation OK
- Talk OK
So far no freeze or sluggishness. Amazingly fast.
Everything works perfect! Even the live wallpapers are working! Thanks to the developers...
Wow! Can confirm this is a lightning fast version!
Especially WIFI I've never seen so fast on FROYO build, could not believe my eyes, much appreciated!
(note: for some reason added modules and zkernel could not get WIFI to work, tried several things, but in the end changed to latest kernel (1253) and got amazing results!)
Camera would be nice, could you also check if "sound stuttering" is fixed in next build?
(as you probably already know, VirusCrazy managed to disable battery polling during sound playback in test kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883966)
Final note: keymapping is still wrong for blackstone, power button can be mapped to home, with long press to latest programs, see also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936601
All in all, great start, can't wait to see next steps!
Cheers,
Robbert

I will keep you up to date with the result after this week end. Today is not really a typical day because I rebooted a lot, changed versions this morning.

Hi
On my blackstone
WiFi don't work
Camera don't work (i try three kernels)
Can you help me?
Hi,
I want to install Android on my HTC Touch Pro and I want to also do that Dual Boot program. Problem is that I can't get android to work.
I downloaded Android, and it is not installing well. After I boot, the top bar of the Android comes, but it seems all grainy, and my mobile restarts :/ I tried changing to a different RAPH startup.txt, but it just crashes in the middle -.-
Pics: (sorry, they are HUGE)

Any ideas anybody?!
Don't try changing to a different startup.txt! Make sure you're using the right file for your phone model. You could also try simply redownloading XDANDROID.
Which RAPH do you have?
Perhaps you need to read the FAQ.
Also, 1) don't take huge pics and post them to a thread - resize them and provide links if anything, although the pics seem useless TBH. 2) post in the build thread, don't create a new thread. Thanks.
@Ben_duder
I downloaded so many lol
@arrrgh
Thanks for that FAQ page, I know I have a RAPH100 now
1. Didn't notice how big they were until I posted them
2. Link to thread pls
Thanks for the help till now every1
EDIT: My download doesn't have RAPH100, but RAPH, RAPH500 and RAPH800 -.-
Is RAPH equivilant to RAPH100?
EDIT2: Ok, so i finally got a RAPH100 one, and it was installing. The last message was 'mp_dma : busy'
It kept on going after a bit, until screen calibration, i didn't even have the time to calibrate, as it kept on going.
Only to get 'stuck' on mp_dma : busy...again
Whilst writing this, it started again....only to get 'stuck'.....AGAIN...on mp_dma : busy....AGAIN!!
Is it normally like that? Does this site have live shat or smthn? Or can some1 PM their MSN/Skype so I can have 'live help' lol
Yes, it is "normal". What shouldn't be normal is the fact that you can't find the RAPH100 startup in the full bundle from THIS thread(for FroYo) or THIS thread (for Gingerbread). Keep in mind, FroYo is more complete and Gingerbread is still in alpha stages even though it seems more "stable" than FroYo.
Additionally, if you just want to be able to boot, the magic number we are looking for is 10 minutes. However, if you aren't getting to the XDAndroid boot animation, this might mean you aren't doing something right. Also, you'll need to grab the ts-calibration file for your device from either thread and put it in the same folder as haret
Hmm, I seem to have got it to work. It look me around 10 minutes to complete It seems ok (I downloaded the new XDAndroid from the official Wiki page). All works fine, incl. camera and Wi-Fi.
Now, I want to do the dual Boot thing. I have the exe downloaded, but now its a new set of CAB and EXT files. I'm going to opt for what seemes to be the newer version (v 1.0.6.0) but when i extract that and open a the file, I get 5 new files
Gen.Y DualBOOT QVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Internal Storage.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT WQVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
Gen.Y DualBOOT WVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab
no idea what to do next.
If you have a RAPH100 use Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab. If you have a DIAM100 use Gen.Y DualBOOT VGA v1.0.6.0 - Internal Storage.cab
NOTE/hint
One installs to internal storage/soldered microSD and the other installs to the storage card/microSD

Yeh i'll do that.
And I understood the Internal Storage and Storage card bit.
Also, I seem to get A LOT of lag when I play a game, is it normal? Probs coz the phone ain't too power full maybe
I did it, and it works well, it just tells me Android missing :S :S
Is haret in anything other than the root of the microSD? If not, it won't pick it up. There is a trick to get it to recognize the build in something other than the root of the microSD but you'll need to check in that thread where you got the dualboot program.
Yea the dualboot program is really a WinMo issue. You need to set the registry entry for it to work correctly.
But since it's not an Android or even an XDAndroid issue, I'd prefer you to post Gen.Y related questions in the correct section of the forum. Thanks.
@R^7Z
Haret is in Storage Card/bootand. And I forgot where I got the dualboot program though lol.
@arrrghhh
First of all, I'll thank you yest, as I'm restricted to 5 per day.
Also, link to where I can find this thread/section.
Thanks for all the help guys
In short if you want to use that program, you will need to visit the thread where you got the dualboot program from OR push everything up a level. In other words, cut and paste everything under the andboot folder to the root of the microSD and it should work like a charm, my friend!

What was the reason they told us to do an andboot folder then?
Well aside from "organization", not much else
I honestly only run one build because it is my preference to do so. Most who know what they are doing (or at least more than I do), use the rel_path=andboot option. "6 one way, half a dozen the other" is what I say.

Well, apart from the fact that I understood NOTHING from that previous post, I want to say that it worked like a charm I cut all the files in the andbooot file to the right place, and what do you know, it worked!
I have a tiny thing to ask you guys Its laggy, and I mean VERY laggy. When i play games, like Angry Birds and such, it jumps, makes it tedious and not really fun to use. I do understand that my phone wasn't built for Android, and that Android needs higher system specs then Win Mobile (it also lags a bit on Win Mobile LOL) but maybe there is a fix to that.
When I check phone settings, it says I'm running Android version 2.2.2, which I think is the latest version, so maybe going to a previous version will make it better. I'm ready to take a small downgrade, only if I will still be able to use all my stuff (3G, camera, wi-fi etc.) I'm hoping to make Android my permanent OS, but with it being this laggy, I'd rather not.
Any ideas
