Estimated worth of XDA - About xda-developers.com

We know this kind of information is very subjective and in the most cases is not accurate, but I found this site that states XDA estimated worth is $3.24 million

what you got to ask yourself it, how much is xda worth to companies like htc, imo development sites like xda is the pivotal reason that htc devices are now seen as mainstream.

XDA is worth far more than 3.24 Million.
It's worth 3.24 million if you're just counting Ad revenue / impression value.

Also because they probably take some of our code in their ROMs xD

Awesome
iPhone-developers is estimated at $29,152 which isn't bad considering it's a new site
EDIT: If my math is correct xda is earning $1,618,410 a year

Proud to be in!

Not accurate at all, my site is worth $2000, but i have only earned 26$ in ad revenue

That´s a start

These automated website value checkers are extremely inaccurate. They often show VERY inflated values, which just makes people come back to the sites to check more sites.
Just sayin'. =D

Starting to belive that, checked it today and the value seems to have doubled to 6.8 million
Meaning yearly XDA would be earning $4,120,704 per year, compared to yesterdays $1,618,410 .. lol

Well deserved as well. Best site for technical advice on HTC & Winmo and progressing greatly on Android front to
Would be nice to get the active count up though

Couple of Questions
This is very good news but I have some questions:
- How are the XDA servers bearing up under the weight of all these members? Getting error 502-bad gateway is a routine occurrence when I log on at night in Europe (daytime in the US) and find all our American cousins logged on, hogging our servers. How dare they (lol)
- Given that this site is probably singularly responsible for a whole load of people sticking with the HTC brand, has anyone from XDA actually approached HTC for financial support and/or technical collaboration? We seem to be solving all their problems for them and keeping them in business without so much as a Corporate thank you in sight
- Moderation, with this number of members, must be an absolute nightmare. How does one nominate oneself to carry on this good work (hint hint)?

1 & 2: the 502 errors are software errors, the only system level workaround is to build an entire resilient failover system, and this will be more that just new hardware .
We (well the admins) are still working on the software issues that are causing the problems.
As for moderators, we are 60 strong, but not all active at once, some of the others have real lives to live.

Dave,
Thanks for the answers to my questions.
As for moderators leading real lives, are you telling me XDA is not the REAL world? I feel like Truman off the Truman Show. Has it all been an illusion, a figment of someone else's turgid imagination (gets his coat)?
WB
Wow!!
Yes we are huge!
I think the real interesting number is the active users one as the 2 mill sure includes a lot of one time only enter members, spammers, etc.
Very funny Mike (ROFL).
WB
Somehow we need to get a "number of images posted by Mike" count. It must be near the 10,000 mark by now!
3 members moderating 2,206 users??? wow!
first time ive been on a site thats even gone pass 100k
good job
that IS huge.

Non-signature Signatures

Such as those applied by tap-a-talk are extremely annoying and many of them are multi-line. I have signatures disabled so I don't have to see the same user signatures over and over, but there are so many users using tap-a-talk signatures that it's futile. It makes reading posts on the forum much more difficult.
Is there any chance we could have the tap-a-talk signatures banned or is there a setting in the tap-a-talk/xda-developers code that would allow their tap-a-talk signature to not make it into the post?

The mobile app signature is nothing more than a line of text that is automatically inserted into the post when it is made. Therefore it is not possible to filter these out and I'm afraid you will just have to put up with them.
It's also entirely impossible for us to "ban" them as we cannot possibly enforce a rule like that across a site with 2 million+ active members....
Sorry

I hate it when thing come to a bad, unresolvable end.
Although everything can be fixed! You just go to try and have hope.
Makes me think of customer service reading out of a manual; whether you like it or not, it always ends up as "Oh sorry sir, but I'm afraid you can't have your broadband increased even though you're paying 200x more for it."
Urghh!

Why would you want to get rid of the siggys?
Not sure if you knew this or not but, Forums cost money to keep up and running. It cost endless hours of management, reading, organizing. Those who buy the XDA-Developers Premium app are showing that they support all the hard work of those who put countless hours into making our phones run smoother and faster then we thought possible. I would love to see MORE users using the XDA Premium app.
Thanks to everyone who uses the app as a sign to support the DEV's! Without them we would be stuck with

Here is the information on their arbitration policy. Opt out information is listed in number 9: https://support.google.com/store/answer/9427031?hl=en

The writing's on the wall...
I have zero confidence in Google at this point.
"With Google you're not the customer, you're the product."
Eh, that's nonsense. Arbitration is an opt-IN alternative to litigation, which is only available if both the claimant (you) and the defendant (vendor) agree to use that process.

Boycott them. I am. I never will buy their devices and now anything running on Android 11 or 12.
Google invariably screws up everything they keep "improving".
Now they want to stick you with their failure$ legally. Hell no.
At this point I think a pre 2021 device/OS is a better choice for reliability and functionality.
2020 was the zenith... so far. Any improvements after that came a high cost of lose of functionality, reliability and battery life.
And do send Google feedback and share the wuv...

While the company is American-originated, I just looked them up and confirmed they are multi-national. Now whether they're spread out enough to help anyone here, that's something else.
As of March 2021, (the warhouse club) has 804 warehouses worldwide:[1] 558 in the United States (including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico), 103 in Canada, 39 in Mexico, 29 in the United Kingdom, 27 in Japan, 16 in South Korea, 14 in Taiwan, 13 in Australia, 4 in Spain, 2 in France, 1 in Iceland and 1 in mainland China. Costco regularly opens new locations.[13] The company plans to open warehouses in 2022 for the first time in New Zealand,[14] and Sweden.[15]

Honestly, I am a bit tired to follow the rules... I mean Mods are the ones who should show the example and it's sometimes frustrating, we need to be careful anytime... This is why I've bought the HOTHEAD pass.
Well that means I won't have the hot pink... Hmm... not a big deal, this is a minor issue. Thanks anyway man!
