Here you go. You don't need the odex file, just rename this to email.apk (remove org). Before you copy this to /system/apps first clear all data and force stop email from settings>applications>manage applications> tab all (find email). And next time you want to change something do a backup of original first!

Thanks,
working again.
But it was not only my fault, here is my story...
I made 2 Backups but both did not work. first backup was made by "android mate" during copy, the other one was created by titanium backup. The android mate backup messed up while I tried to move back into system/app. But the files was not written into the folder but was deleted afterwards. :-( Ok was my mistake should have taken copy instead of moving. who cares, I have the titanium backup- yeahh. But I tried 3 times restoring the email.apk from there without success. rebooted, email.apk was still missing and was also not avaiable at titanium anymore. at this moment I was lost

does this provide the normal looking mail app instead of Samsungs email? Is it the same as the mail app on HTC devices?

[Q] Where can I download the Stock TW?

Where can I download the Stock TW?
i used SGS tools and it screwed up my TW launcher and I couldn't restore it.
where can I find it?
thanks
I thought that SGS Tools backed up the original TW Launcher to the SD card?
EDIT:
Yes it saves to the SD card, it saves the original to /sdcard/sgstools/ according to the app.
One problem with that. It didn't restore it so I deleted this folder after I unistalled the app. Now I'm trying to find this apk with odex file sine I'm not able to install any TW apk unless its update.zip.

Question Re: Titanium

Is there a way to remove uninstalled items from the backup and restore list on Titanium?
I have "Hosts" at the bottom of my list, which is greyed out and has a line through it, indicating that it is no longer on the phone. I would just like to remove it from the list if possible.
I have tried everything I can think of. I have deleted my backups from my SD card, explored all the options I can think of in Titanium and even cleared the Davlik Cache!
I think the file is something to do with a previous version of AdFree.
Any help would be most welcome.

This does not work. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even give me the option to delete it, yet I have no idea why.
Possibly because it is/was a package file?

Have a look in the backup folder on your SD card and see if you can delete it in there.

Stock ICS Email client

Hello All I recently updates my Galaxy S2 to ICS, but the email client that comes with touch wiz is very bad. Anyone know where I can download the Stock ICS email client that will work on a non-rooted phone?
I believe you need to be rooted to uninstall the stock email cliend and install the ICS version.
I also had troubles with the stock client but after I found the ICS version everything is fine ... except that its not themed to the S2 way but is white as the gmail client. Do a search here.
Good luck

Thanks for the information, just rooted my phone with Siyahkernel, do you know where i can get the stock email client and instructions on how to install and back up the samsung one?
Put those two files in system/app with any root explorer (like Root Explorer -the free version will do). restart the phone, should it work -hit thank you -will be my first
Dont remember who to credit for the files myself, got them some time ago.

Thanks For the files, I have copied them to system /app and it asks me to overwrite it, but after reboot and when I go back to check it is still the old email app, any hints or tips would help, thanks.
K, what I can do is post backups of the mail app from my titanium backup. You have to get the app, and put the file in titanium folder, then restore the app as if you had backed it up yourself.
The galaxy is home, and i,m not now, so it,ll be a few hours. K

Thanks for the help, I was able to finally copy it to the system folder, was an option that needed to checked in the file manager. Now every time I try to open email it crashes and the phone takes a long time to boot, had to go back the Samsung app. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
ok, try this -I got a titanium backup of Email 4.0 as it's called on ICS gallaxy s2.
It's backed up just before uninstall right after a new ICS flash -should be good.
1. If you don't have it yet, get titanium backup free from market.
2. In titanium backup uninstall your email app -dont back up (or back up, and then remove from titanium backup folder).
3. Put the 4 attached files in titanium backup folder
4. In titanium, restore the email app
5. See what happenes
Visit the Wanamlite site. Wanam posted a flashable zip of the stock email client that seems to work with any stock deodexed and rooted ROM (it worked on my stock deodexed DXLP7 and DXLPQ).
Be careful, though. After doing this, I noticed that if you try installing themes like Vertumus', the theme doesn't take properly and while you won't get boot loops, you'll have multiple FC issues afterwards.
I haven't looked but I have an inkling that the framework that Vertumus modifies is the stock sammy email client and not the Google one and so when you install his theme it tries to modify the Google client (since it's replaced the stock sammy one) and that's what's causing the issues.
Well, would,n it be more sensible first to try the titanium backups or the original, freshly installed, not tampered with app?

Did you mount the system. How did you back up it. Using titanium back or any other app.

I remmber seeing Samsung Camera.apk separately on some thread for the phone. You can try searching.. If not unzip and take off the Samsung camera from the Stock and install and make it a system app, Considering some additional files required to make it usable..
