Does anyone know if aman ra plans on making a recovery for the G2 since it has s-off now? Or perhaps is someone working on a port.
Just wondering, I know clockwork does almost everything aman ra does.
But I just prefer aman ra, from all the way back to my G1 days.

The long way is to use ADB and a couple of files. The short way is to download ROM manager and use it to flash either clockwork or amon RA
Both cases require you to have root on your phone already

+1 on using ROM Manager, it's so easy even a caveman can do it!
Yah easiest way to change from amon ra to clockwork is to use Rom manger and flash the clockwork recovery. Although not sure why you would want to do that since amon ra makes better nand backups....

And can properly wipe the dalvik cache...
My guess is that OP is upgrading to RA 1.8.0
Guys it doesnt have amon ra recovery in rom manager at the bottom.
The flash alternate recovery is
Ra_gmn recovery v1.7.6
Is that amon ra?

go to market and update your version of rom manager - it should say RA Recovery v1.8.0 under flash alternate recovery.
Well it doesn't say that and Its up to date. Should I get the premium rom manager?

I keep seeing everyone state that they have RA 2.2.1
When I flashed the alternate recovery from rom manager it tells me that I have RA 2.1.1? Am i missing something? If so where do I get the new RA? Any help would be much appreciated!

Both Amon_Ra (1.8 and higher) and The newest clockwork will backup the wimax partition.
does the newest version come with unrevoked by any chance

I think unrevoked flashes Clockwork recovery, you can use clockwork to flash alternative recovery and that will flash Amon_Ra 2.2.1.
The newest Amo ra, does have an option to back up the Wimax partision.
Does anyone have a link for Amon Ra recovery 1.7.0.? for the DHD? I use this to make a backup when i first rooted my phone and clockwork wont restore these backups.

AFAIK Amon Ra recovery was never released on the DHD. I've had the phone from day one and after the struggles with root, the first recovery release was a version of CWM by Paul.
You sure you're not confusing this phone with the original Desire? You can't restore Desire backups on the HD if that is what you are attempting to do.
Regards.
maybe i am confused... my backup of the stock rom that came with my dhd is what i am trying to restore, i was sure it was made with amon ra but maybe i am wrong, and when i try to restore it gives an md5 mismatch.
i will give pauls original recovery a try.
thanks
Hi,
I looked around but can't seem to find Amon Ra for Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Is it out there because I've seen people having problems with CWM and it screws up with their Nandroid backups somehow. Is there Amon Ra for GNex out there or in development?

amon ra doesnt make recoveries any more. that said, cwm recovery is based on his amon ras work. but quality wise it is not the same. so, after using cwm recovery on my ns for a brief moment(hated cwm on my ns), i found twrp recovery. twrp recovery is much more fully featured tban cwm, and everything works. btw, amon ra is a friend of mine, he just bought a nexus 7 and was asked by someone if he will make a recovery for it. his answer was that hes out of the recovery business and there are many good recoveries out there already. of course, id also rather use amon ra recoveries on all my devices, but life goes on..
