Hi all.
I tested the HyperCard 3G Dual Sim adapter from http://www.2-phones-in-1.com/ in my HTC Trophy. Conclusion: It works like a charme.
"
After some cutting problems (had to cut the sims thinner than the templates delivered with the adapter - but no problem: i think you cannot really do anything wrong. just be brave ;o] ) i created a contact with 2 phone numbers:
Name: HyperCard 3G
Image: Toke Logo from HyperCard 3G Homepage
Private 1: 11*
Private 2: 22*
this easily switches between the two sim cards. I stacked the contact to the homescreen so that i can easily and rapidly switch.
see here a short video:
works also with HSDPA and UMTS 3G. I think its the one worldwide supporting this currently in a dual sim adapter:
If you have questions do not hesitate to contact me here in this thread.

Nice, when someone calls you on phonenumber of sim1 and you have set it sim2, you are not available?
I think I know the answer but maybe if you're using the same provider..
you can easily set in your windows phone "call forwarding". because i use same provider "same net" it costs nothing. to your question:
if you do nothing it will not inform you. it is like: one sim is on the other off.
all the best.

as you can see in the video it is a contact with 2 numbers. if you call 1 number it is changing the sim.
currently there is no app for windows phone 7 available due to the microsoft limited access to windows phone 7 system settings through apps.
i will create one app if its available, no matter if homebrew or at marketplace!

Thank you very much it will be nicde to have app for windows 7 great.
but I am unable to change the number as I created the contact as follows in my Mozart
Name: Hypercard 3G
Picture- My favuoire pic not a logo
Work
Work2
as there was no option to select private1 and private 2title in HTC mozart.
Just thought that might be the reason for not being able to swap the number by even calling. Any thought if its not too much to ask
You must set the phone numbers for Work1 and Work2 as:
Work 1: 11*
Work 2: 22*
meaning, calling "11*" changes to SIM1 and calling "22*" changes to SIM2

on the homepage you can find a similar image. i browsed there with my phone, downloaded the image and than used grey filter with image tool on htc trophy.
Awesome now I can travel with my trophy
I know is a old thread, but is the only one about dual sim adapters on windows phone. I have a Samsung omnia 7, do you think the HyperCard 3G works fine also with my device?
Good morning,
I have an HTC Mozart and I'm interested in the result of your test. Please advise if you succeed to switch the SIM. If Yes, Please advise if your phone is SIMLOCKED and if it is branded.
Kind regards

dual sim
Hi
I Had also a problem with dual sim.
I only have a workaround if you dont need umts.
go to settings-telephone-band and use for network type gsm instead of auto.
umts doesnt work now but gprs is still available.
if you still have problems you can use a separate programm for switching, look at www.wivit.com and try the sim status switcher.
good luck

defekt adaptor
Hi
Sorry thats all i can advice.
maybe that your dual sim adaptor is defekt or simply the cards are not contacted. it happened to me also once.
If you have another dualsim adapter try it.
bye
PS i use generation 10 sim adapter .
I've actually tried one of these ghost sims.
My problem is that I cannot reliably "switch off" the phone to make it switch.
How do you guys do it.
I'm trying a softreset, radio off/on.
But although I do occationally get it to switch, it is not practical enough to use.
I too have the samew problem with trying to install WiVSSS10.cab
Has anyone actually had it running on a Universal or on WM5 for that matter ?

I've been watching android a bit and the development has been stellar. I've been using my sim card on my cdma device to test and so far all has been working. But with the recent builds, internet or texting does not work. Is this because of 3g? I've tried switching to 2g but that didn't help either. My question is what should I do to get data and sms working on my rhodium 500 (CDMA world) touch pro 2?

Try removing your SIM card, i'm running the latest version of Android for TP2 by MrPippy on PPCGeeks and its running great, 3G Data, voice calling, Wifi, keyboard, marketplace etc.
the last time i tried running android i left my SIM in the slot, and i couldn't do anything except look at the phone's interface,
the world phone (only version of TP2 from Verizon) uses Vodaphone services by default when it detects SIM card on Android for some reason, so this is most likely why the Android developers tell everyone to remove the SIM card.
Hope that helps

You're using the GSM service on your CDMA TP2 domineus?? Did you take a Verizon or Sprint TP2 and bring it over to AT&T or T-Mobile's network? Either way, you may have a more unique setup than most of us.
For the most part, I'm experiencing the exact thing as schwartz1; my Verizon TP2 (CDMA) works GREAT with the latest MrPippy Android release. Like schwartz1 said (as well as in the detail instructions from the thread), you need to remove your SIM card for it to work. I verified with VZW a while back that it's just there as a placeholder; you don't need it if you'll be within the USA.
Good luck
I'm in the same boat... I'm using my sprint tp2 in germany and the cdma android builds the voice and data don't work at all but the gsm xdandroid cab worked for voice and data once out of 8 times I booted... can't figure out what got it to work that once though.
surprisingly the gsm cab worked well dated march 8
but the zimages have been giving a lot of issues for me...
I got the Nexus from Bell Canada and I noticed that I have something called SIM toolkit in the app drawer. I clicked on it and it loaded but it didn't do anything. What is it and what does it do? Is it a bloatware?
In Europe is STK often used as an authentication channel for internet banking
or if your provider sim has built-in functionnality ,like shortcuts ...or services
So no way to get rid of it?

Or freeze it in Titanium Backup or uninstall it.
Ya, I was just wondering if it's some bloatware that was installed by my carrier.

No, it's the equivalent of the SIM menu that exists on just about any GSM standards-compliant phone if the carrier chooses to present a SIM menu. Remember that the SIM is actually a small computer chip that runs authentication algorithms and other simple programs. STK just queries the SIM to ask if it has a SIM menu, and if so it presents it to you. On Bell it doesn't do much - just lets you visit the account self-serve web portal and dial common customer service numbers. On WIND you can use it to request an SMS with your account balance and usage details, and also under certain circumstances to force it to look for roaming networks.
I think it's also responsible for pop-up messages that come from the SIM - for example on AT&T GoPhone, you get a pop-up every time you do something that decrements your balance, so that you know how much it cost you.
Short version - it doesn't do much, and it does absolutely nothing when you aren't running it. Leave it on, because every once in a while it's useful.
For me stk menu is important , i use an dual simcard adapter in my nexus
But in most custom rom it didn't appear ...
I've deleted it in every ROM for the last couple of years with no side-effects. (T-Mobile UK).

There is truly no advantage in doing so... it consumes no resources, and on the rare occasions you might need it again, getting it back is a pain.
If you are using a SIM that does not have any SIM menu programmed into it, the icon will vanish automatically. For example my LG Optimus One shows the STK with a Bell SIM but it vanishes with a Fido SIM.

Bad dual sim management
Better late than never, right?
You find "dual sim management" in the phone's settings.
This is where you can activate and deactivate each sim and where you set the preferred sim for mobile data.
So, yes, you can easily switch the sim that's being used for mobile data.. However, the BIG restriction is, that the sim 2 radio only supports 2G (up to EDGE). So, in order to use high speed internet from the provider whose sim is located in slot 2 you actually have to swap the sim cards. Also, there's no way to automatically switch to the other network's mobile data in case you lose mobile data coverage on the preset network . You really have to tell the phone manually which network to use.
Another big issue for me is that I can't preset the network I use for calls. So, my sim 1 is for data only. sim 2 is for voice calls and texts. Remember: it has to be this way because only sim 1 supports 3G/4G. Now, when I initiate a call via voice or via my car's bluetooth unit the phone automatically tries to use sim 1 as the default for calls. I can't set it up to use sim 2 as the default call handler and there's no dialogue asking me which sim to use like when I dial manually. That's really bad, all other companies that offer dual sim phones have better management options in their software's settings.
I tried using alternative phone apps which give you the option of choosing a default sim for calls but this only works for voice-dialing; bluetooth still overrides the alternative dialer and always goes with the stock one.
I hope this helps - so actually I'd advice agaist the M8 dual sim despite it being beautiful and having really good hardware.

Hi,
I got EMUI 10 and together with Android 10, it introduces some new small things that are very nice to have (on top of the new visual which is a very good improvement on my view). For instance, when connected to Bluetooth on my car, I've the option to redirect sound to the phone or car.
Now one thing that stopped working correctly is that I've a dual SIM - one for voice / SMSs and one for data - and now my car dashboard shows SIM 2 network name and status and not SIM 1's as before (SIM 1 is configured as the default for voice). Anyone knows if / how can I fix / change this?
On this topic and it was always like this, I use Google's Messaging app and it has a tendency for sending SMSs from SIM 2 which shouldn't as SIM 2 is only for data. Anyone knows if there's something to prevent this? Sometimes I send SMSs which come out using the SIM 2 phone number (data SIM) and when someone replies I can't see them because it's a data SIM only (doesn't receive SMSs).
Thanks in advance for the support / feedback.

That's why I can not say if it worked before
