I want to be able to take a high resolution picture from within a .Net application. I don't want to use the Camera Dialog as that's an external dialog to my app. I have seen a software that has done something similar, so I know it is possible. Here is the link to the site
http://www.quickmark.com.tw.
I guess they use the proprietary camera api of the manufacturer. I currently use HTC Tilt as my testing device and it's difficult to get it from them.
Is there anyway round this? I have also tried DirectShow, however the resolution is poor. Is there an HACK out there?
I primarily code in C#, so if anyone can help, I'll be grateful.
HTC closing their devices from default windows use by interfaces.
By quering windows camera device we have only 160x120 res with 10 fps, but closed HTC camera drivers have full usage.
Fix is only hacking htc drivers
Hey folks,
I've recently found out that sometimes when I post a picture from the phone to Picasa it is not completely loaded, meaning the lower bottom of the uploaded pic in Picasa is grey. This happen only for photos that have a fine or superfine resolution (ie never happened for photos 640x480 or 1024x768) and then only for some pictures.
There is no error raised during data transmission from Desire.
Initially thought this was a data receive problem on Picasa server but repeating the upload from the phone of pic in Picasa looks still incomplete.
The same photo moved to PC and loaded from Picasa web interface shows no such issue.
I wonder if anyone else had the same experience and if a solution has been found.
I'm using HTC Desire stock (unbranded) firmware 2.1-update1.
Cheers

I've had this issue, same as you but with stock T-Mobile rom (with 3D Gallery installed)
I've had this issue as well....using gallery3d I think
me too. Stock HTC vanilla rom with the gallery from the nexus one installed. Only happened once, but when it did happen, that one photo repeatedly did the same thing despite looking OK in the Photo app - bottom third was grey.
Me too... Several times.
I am also having this problem with some photos after installing N1 3D gallery (with my previous Motorola Milestone and the same 3D gallery I had no such an issue). It is not just the gallery it is also whole picassa uploader - the same problem occures when i try to upload some photos from stock photo gallery to picasa.
Happened to me also.
Any solutions for this?
I tried to upload via wireless and 3g - same result.
Leedroid 2.2f, Radio 5.10.05.23
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Currently on a stock ROM on VZW Incredible, Froyo, updated PicasaTool app.
The grey bar on uploads essentially makes the app useless. Thanks
Dan
Same issue here, with desire, desire z and desire hd.
I have this issue with my T-Mobile Sensation 4G, too. Re-uploading the photo sometimes works (but not always).
i dont understand why doesnt google figure out this problem already
Hello,
I'm using the last OpenDesire ROM..
I don't like the default Gallery application for many reasons :
- really laggy... bad quality..
- Privacy ! :
User account authentification information
Full internet access
Manage account list
GPS localisation
Geo-localisation
For an application that just show pictures, it is too much...
Can you tell me what is in your opinion the best market (or not) gallery/picture application ?
Thank you for your help.
i am also looking for the same. the default google cooliris gallery looks great but is so slow that one feels like seeing the pics. haha.. just joking. anyone knows about a gallery app like htc gallery?
No one can help ?
Or is there a way to remove "internet access & co" from Gallery 3D ?
is there no app for photo gallery other than the stock cooliris app by google????!!!!!
I have the same issue and same thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772753
I've found b&b gallery. It's very basic. I didn't satisfy with it but you can try.
Hello all
As all of you already know, Android 4.1 JB finally fixed that stupid issue with low-quality photos in contacts after synchronizing with Google account.
In JB after sync photos stores in gmail with resolution up to 720x720. I think it is quite enough for Contacts application, Caller ID and so on.
So does anybody knows is it possible to port this very useful feature of JB to ICS?
Hello guys, I am looking for the faces sorting in photo gallery. Need to say I **** on the Google photos - they have this option only on the cloud and I wanna sort photos in my phone not somewhere on the server. If I remeber right the old versions of android have this option, but now there is nothing like that....
