[Q] SD Card Damaged. USB Doesn't Work. Won't Mount! HELP!

Okay so last night, I was just multitasking on my phone and all of a sudden, I get that dreaded microSD icon on my notifications bar. It says, "SD card damaged. You may have to reformat it." I have gotten this in the past and usually a soft reset fixes it (with the oem sd card). I did that, and it was still there.
I tried to connect it to my computer to transfer everything saved, but the sd card won't even mount, so my computer doesn't even see anything on the card! I even tried putting the card in the external USB card reader that came with the card and I can't access it.
I tried using Root Explorer, Settings, and Astro to access the microSd card and it won't let me since it is not mounted.
I am using CM7 RC4 with Lexar 32gb Class 10 card.
Any ideas? I really don't want to lose all my stuff on my SD card, but if I guess if there isn't any fixes, I don't really have a choice.
Try unmount the card place in a like SD adpater and plug in the computer See if it reads it.

Well it seems the card is already unmounted permanently at the moment. When I try to put it in the card reader, my PC won't even read the stuff on it. I mean it will show that a external device is connected but when I click on it, it just does nothing.
This happened to me and it scared the hell out of me. All I did was reboot and it was fixed.

Yeah, I think my card was f'd ..ended up just reformatting it ..lost everything. But it works now lol.

how to restore a micro sd?

I already have, root, s-off and tried some roms.
Unfortunately, I redid the partitions but bad and the phone continues to freeze,
to fix them I connect the sd to the computer with the recovery, and then i start gpartedlive, but I can not see the partitions ext, I only see fat32, so I can not fix them, how do I bring back as if sd new?
I need the adapter, or connect it via the recovery goes well?
i'm sorry for my really bad english LoL

You need adapter connecting via recovery only mounts the fat32 partition

Turn off your phone and remove the back panel, battery, and slide out your SD card.
Use a USB->microSD adapter/card reader to connect it to your computer, as connecting the phone in recovery will still only mount the FAT32 partition. Boot gParted.
You should now be able to mount both partitions. I recommend using the LiveCD to copy files from the ext and FAT32 partitions to a backup location on your computer or another drive, before wiping the SD card and recreating the partition structure in gParted. Then you can copy the files back on to the SD card with the new partition structure without data loss.
thank you so much, i'm going to buy an adapter
Or if you're not worried about data loss on all partitions ie ext partition, then you could copy files from fat partition to computer then use 4ext recovery to partition the card

[Q] Bad Partition?

Got a free G2 from a friend and when i plug it into the computer it doesn't give you the option on the phone to connect to computer it does display USB debugging. My computer doesn't recognize there being any kind of storage drive there but does see the phone under devices. The internal storage displays 1.16GB available. Not sure where to go with this and any help would be great.
Internal storage is preferring to the system partition which is not mountable on a computer, well not on windows anyway.
if you have debugging turned on and the computer recognizes that its a good sign.
is there an SD card in it? You should be able to mount an sdcard no problem (formatted to fat32)
Maybe I'm not sure your question but everything sounds normal
Also you may need to install the proper drivers

I know the drivers are good because i have a htc amaze also and they are the same. If i put a sd card in it i can see that on the computer but i cannot mount just the phone on the computer it doesnt even show up in my folders under my computer. I dont even get a notification on the phone that its connected to the usb only the debugging icon
I've never been able to mount my g2s internal partition on my computer, windows doesn't read/write ext partitions anyway. Haven't used my Linux box in a while but I don't remember being able to mount it, at least not as a storage device.
Only SD card mount (fat32 partition) fastboot and adb mounting for me

OK if you go into your Storage settings this is what is list: SD Card- Total space: unavailable, Available: Unavailable
INTERNAL Storage-Available space: 1.21GB
That just doesnt seem normal no ext sd in the slot just the phone itself cannot be mounted on the computer i have a HTC amaze and a Samsung Vibrant they can be seen without a sd card in them
P.S. Sorry just trying to understand this phone lol and get it working
Either SD card is bad or SD slot is bad, you can try reformating card or performing a factory reset and see if that helps. Try other SD cards, if all else fails than you probably need a new sd tray, about 15$ on eBay and takes 15 min to install

SD card

Hi. My sd card is not working anymore on my HTC Desire HD. I had phone connected with PC to add files in SD card, then I did not use "Safely remove hardware" and unplugged my phone from PC. After that SD card stopped to work, when i click on "Mount SD card", it says "Sd card safe to remove". Then I tried to connect it to PC with SD card reader, when PC finds all files, to get SD card ready to use, it just crashes or something happens, when I try to open it again it says "Please insert a disk into drive...".
Anyone has got any suggestions, what could I do? I havent tried to format it yet, still hoping to get my files back.
Thanks

[Q] sdcard damaged after using usb mass storage

So I am using the infamous v4 Rom and I have been happy with it. I used the usb mass storage enabler app for the first time. After transferring my fines, I ejected the sd card and disconnected the phone. I then switched the phone back to mtp mode. This was when all the problems started. Now my apps can't find my sdcard but the es file explorer and gallery can see the sdcard fine. When I unmount the sdcard and remount it, I will get the message sd card damaged try reformatting it. I did a full reformat, not the quick one. Still says damaged when I mount it. Doesn't make sense that the file explorer and my computer sees the card fine but some apps says the card is missing.
What did you format the card too? FAT32?
yes, i formatted it as fat32
