Go to the market and get rom manager app. It will have an option to flash recovery after which you can use rom manager's backup features.

Have you down loaded "rom manager" from the market yet?
Download ClockworkMod Recovery, open it and tap "flash clockworkmod recovery"
it will ask to confirm model, select G2 tap yes. Now be patient and wait a few minutes, when it is finished it will way successfully flashed clockwork mod
now to make a NANDROID backup, open clockwork recovery and click "back up and restore" backup the firmware and BAM your done.
thnx guys appreciate your help ^_^

I'm sure there is somewhere if you google it or use the search feature on xda. Honestly there is really nothing to them, you do it from recovery. With RA, just select backup/restore and then select Nand backup. I'm sure it's very similar with clockwork.
I was just wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I'm having.
When I go into rom manager and try to back up current rom, it goes through the process but then it says it failed and to reboot phone and open rom manager to report error.
Am I doing somthing wrong?
I've done it once before but when I change to the new rom I have, it won't let me back it up.
Thanks for any help in this matter

Didn't think you could use rom manager for backups but if you need to backup just boot into recovery via 3 finger salute and go to backup and restore and backup that way. That way you have a for sure nandroid backup. Just don't rename the file it creates.

Thats strange, all i can tell you is update your recovery and you might need to do a full wipe and partition your sd card and start over, make sure you use Darktremors Apps2sd tweak.

Hi,
I'm thinking about rooting my Galaxy Note 2. Then I want to install some custom ROM. I have decided to go with CleanROM because of s-pen option which I'm using. But I'm a little confuse about rooting so I will be grateful for some help here.
1. After rooting my phone I will be able to update my system?
2. With custom ROM all my applications will be up to date? I mean I will be able to download updates from Google Play?
3. What is the best way to root my Note 2? I have read about Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit or Odin way. Could you please explain me diffrence between those? Which should I use? Is there any thin else I need to install before go with ROM?
4. Do you know good tutorial how to install CleanROM?
5. Should I remove my sim card doing all those things?
6. What about my data? All will be erased?
7. How can I do any back up of my settings and apps?
Please help me to understand it .

1. Yes, but I don't know how. Google it
2. Rom developer will explain which latest version you'll get. Just go to xda rom page.for the second question, Yes, u can update with play store.
3. Personally, I rooted my phone with methods from galaxynote2root.com, it work fine for me. It used Odin.
4. Just go to rom page in xda , all will be there!
5. As far as I know, it's no problem. But u worried? Remove it, it won't take you more than 5 sec.
6. Your data? Copy everything from internal SD card to your computer. Some rom need to clear your internal SD to flash a pure rom.
7. Use titanium backup. Make sure you backup into external SD. After flashing your new rom, just install titanium backup and locate your backup from external SD.
8. Have fun!! But beware! Just wanna remind u.. be sure to backup your stock rom + EFS backup before flashing your clean rom.. There are so many efs and imei lost and got mess up (Twrp recovery can backup both rom and efs.) in case something went wrong, just restore it..

Thank you for quick answer!
I got question regarding point 8. How can I backup my stock rom? And what is EFS? Is there any tutorial which can help me?
One more question. You wrote to use titanium backup. So when I will perform this I will be able restore all apps and settings on ROM?
I understand that first I need to root my phone before using titanium backup right? Rooting can delete some data?

Just flash Twrp recovery from here ..
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/115
For me, I first flashed "cwm recovery" from galaxynote2root.com, just Google it... and then using cwm recovery, I flashed Twrp recovery.. Zip mode from above link
To know you had installed Twrp, power off your phone .. Then press volume up + home + power button together to get into recovery mode.. Then backup your stock rom and efs to external SD.. There are also so many tutorial about Twrp recovery on YouTube.. So it won't matter for u.

Efs is generally the same as imei.. If u lose imei, you can't make call etc...
Titanium backup can restore all user apps.. Don't worry, even your playing game level!

Last question is yes, you need to have root to use titanium.. As far as I know rooting won't delete your data.. But I I'm not sure about that.. If u worried, have a search in this forum..there are so many people to help you
Sent from my Galaxy Note II using xda app-developers app
Rooting will definitely NOT delete any data. Just make sure you use pretty clean PC because of the drivers, that is most important thing and install correct drivers. Then use Odin to root. It is really simple. Then you can make EFS (IMEI) backup, just search the forum there is a topic.
