Recently, I've installed the miui rom (j-style) and I can't seem to install any apk files by using any file manager. Is there a way to fix this because I really want to have this rom on my phone. Please help!!

Hi. I am running SuperVillain ROM 1.0 and would like to have the android keyboard. I have tried a few methods to get this working, but it just won't. Maybe i am missing something....? I have tried flashing a .zip file of the AOSP keyboard, tried installing the .apk via app installer, i have also tried moving the .apk from SD card to system/app via root explorer. No luck.
Can anyone tell me where i am going wrong, and how best to install it. Leedroid ROM has it installed, so i dont see why SV ROM can't.....?

I'm using a rooted DHD, with the stock Sense ROM. I've tried installing the stock android calendar the following way:
I removed the HTC calendar.apk using root explorer. Then after extracting it from a cyanogenmod ROM i installed the android calendar.apk. The install went fine, but I got a force close each time I opened the app.
Then I also removed the HTC GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk (using RE), exctracted the cyanogenmod version and tried installing it but after each attempt it says "App not installed".
Should I flash this file using ROM manager instead, or will that **** up my DHD? (Will it even work if I do this?)
As you can see, I'm pretty much in the dark here.... Does anyone have a flashlight? I would greatly appreciate it!
Hey guys, I'm trying to insatll adfree pro and the new market to my oxygen rooted desire.
I put the .zip folder in the SD card and used ROM manager to install the ROM, however when it finalized and booted back up, adfree pro wasn't installed. Any ideas?

youve already installed a rom
it should be "how do i install adfree pro "
im knew to the desire as i have a galaxy s, if the apks are in the zip why dont you instal with a file manager or an appinstaller
Thanks for the reply thebazman, I've just installed appinstaller, however it's not reading my .zip files. Am I supposed to extract them beforehand?

yes extract them and if theres apks voila just instal them

Hmmm,adfree doesn't have an apk file and the new marlet won't install (has to be done from recovery doesn't it?)

Indeed I can, but I like keeping stuff up to date, so I'd ideally like the new market.
However, I'm not hugely keen on the new market so it's not a big loss anyway.
I was going for adfree pro also.
I'm running freezas deodexed ma6 ROM and I've noticed that I can't download any files. Is any one else having this problem? When I reboot I can download the first file I try but then after that it says download unsuccessful. I've tried downloading zip files and mp3. I did a clean install coming from liquid ROM. I just want to see if this is a known issue or my error.

extracting the apk from the zip file but when i tried to install it on my phone, it said "There was a problem parsing the package'. I need clear
instructions on how to get a keyboard from another rom.

It is not a flashable zip. What I'm saying is that i want to extract a keyboard out of a rom so I can install it on another rom.
If it wont install it might miss some additional files

Do not install . You need to extract the app from the rom and move to system / app and give permission and reboot .Sorry for my bad English

Works only if you have all files needed in your actual rom and won´t work with cm10 keyboard because cm10 is jb and UHD is ICS
