ROM has my old Ringer!!

I am trying to dig through an old summiter ROM to extract ringers but can't find the ringers. I am looking at the ROM using WinRAR, but there is some NK file that is the largest of all; are ringers in there?
That is noob I know but I haven't broken up a ROM since the old Summiter days, and am lost.
What tools are there to break up a ROM to see the indivudual files in them?

I saved you the trouble as I keep those on my SC. Here's summiter's wavs and themes.
(I'm such a pack rat, keep every ROM Summiter, Faria, Molski and the rest of the rat pack ever released (and many that never made it to being released)

Thanks for the help Doc, unfortunately I was unable to find it in your collection. I am going to move my thread to the general area per the others request and try to find this ringer of mine, check it out if you get a sec. Thanks again!!!

[X1/X2] Editing camera interface (v1.2, PC)

Blob Editor for PC
Version: 1.2
I've made a little tool that helps to edit camera's interface.
Supports both X1 and X2.
As you know, interface is packed into images.blob. Now you can replace any image there.
Also you can edit sounds.blob with it
Version history:
v1.2:
-fixed sounds replacing bug
v1.1:
-added command line support. Now you can assign it to *.blob files.
-F1 and F2 now replace or extract current file
-minor interface fixes
v1.0: initial release
Mini-Guide:
1) Get you images.blob or sounds.blob file from \Program Files\XperiaCamera\Resources
2) Open it in BlobEditor
3) Find any images you want to replace and press "Replace". It is better to extract all files (they will have internal hex-identifiers, not just an order)
4) Save. Move to \Program Files\XperiaCamera\Resources. Enjoy!

Maybe write a mini-guide on how to replace the files? I thought it was a .cab app for xperia and all the work was done on the phone.. But I dont know where the .blob files are located in the phone memory in order to replace them :/ Any help appreciated ^^

By default the files are here in X1:

Good idea, but I decided not to do this because of some reasons. But I've added F1/F2 shortcuts.

i think it means "ORIGINAL POSTER"

It is not harder than MS notepad. You can extract all files, redraw them as you want and then replace all needed files.

Well.. how do I make an audio file a *.bin file, so that I can select it with the application? Just renaming the *.wav to *.bin does give an error..
Other than that: Great, I've always wanted to get rid of some the camera sounds..

Oh, it wasn't actually me. Thanks for fixing it, works perfectly now.
I might very well imagine it, but using your sound.blob with the extra "slot" for Sound "D" felt like it made the menu of the camera somwhat slower. I haven't tested it or anything, and I just replaced the sounds in the old sounds.blob without a "D" in it. (Using an X1 that is, obviously.)

13Theme Pack HD MINI.cab
First of all we must thank our friend from China Chaiboshi for 13 themes he created for HD Mini, I just helped to put cab file to install them at will, now that remains is to have fun.
After you install the theme go to home and OK to throw it.
We also put wallpaper theme(I miss just wall pumas).

(FOR PROGRAMMERS) Create a ROM apks' images resizing tool

Hello Everybody , as i have seen this would apply to ALL android phones , so i posted it here !
I have searched over the xda , and couldn't see an apk resizing tool so it could fit on smaller devices more like hdpi to mdpi ... But it is easily possible with the script i am going to provide down ... I don't know if you heard about ImageMagick tools , a whole bunch of scripts almost capable of everything for editing pictures . These scripts contain a script called mogrify.c , this script can resize images in percentages , ratios , specific length and/or width ; but featuring a rare thing to find """RESPECT FOR ALPHA""" , yes it respects alpha = the transparent parts of the image are NOT filled with white instead of staying ...
USAGE :
So for the use of this script for example.png , if example.png was hdpi , we would type in for example "mogrify -resize 75% example.png" , and then example.png would be applicable to mdpi ... another example , but this time we have a bunch of pngs which need to be resized , so the command would be "mogrify -resize 125% *.png" and fastly they will be enlarged 25% each png in the specified folder ... and so on ... note that we can type in instead of 75% or 125% , 320x480 (but this will resize the image , not resolution , so only way for resizing from hdpi to mdpi using this script is by calculating ratios and percentages , and working on their basis ...
Ok so i was thinking one of the programmers could create a GUI for a proper use for ROMS , and this wouldn't be a hard task for programmers i guess , so what i want from the programmers to in this GUI is :
1-Extract every system apk except some(not at once , in alphabatical order) (if there was exceptions)
2-Run the script as wanted using percentages (from mdpi to hdpi , from xhdpi to mdpi etc ...)
3- XMLs are left to resize , so then include workspace.xml resizing or any other xmls (totally your job , i have no idea how it works)
4-Repack the apks and push them into a copy of the ROM
By that we could partially and most importantly ported a WHOLE rom to the desired device !!
The script is down , google for Mogrify if you needed a or wanted to know more info ! wish this stickies !
WARNING !! THIS TOOL DIDN'T WORK WELL FOR ME WHILE USING BATCHES (but worked pretty nice in normal cmd.exe) , TRY TO FIND AN ALTERNATIVE !!
PLEASE include me in the credits of it , I was very tiiirreeedd so i can find such an important script !!

How exactly do you run it? By making a batch file? I could definitely use this. Your OP is a bit confusing. But this does look promising.

I am not a programmer myself , because of that i said [FOR PROGRAMMERS] , i am just a 14 year old student , but this GUI can be made like any other GUI , see like Virtous studio , it is a combination of many stuff all in one ! so this should be worth the hustle ! share it in your signitures , this will beautify the world of android !

Just came across this and first off thank you! I'm knee deep in a project that i need to convert a whole rom from hdpi to ldpi, this is a life saver. I will pass the word on to see if anyone wants to help you with the gui !

you actually should stop in and talk to the guys who do TWRP i imagine a "one size fits all" theme zip would be awesome for them...

This is not meant for theming , this is for resizing a whole ROM apks ... so this is very important for the android devices , lets say the Sense 3.0 was given to the mdpi htc devices , wouldn't this be cool ??

Dear Admin , No I haven't released anything , this is an Idea for the PC/Linux programmers... I have attached that file in there , so that I could make it easier for devs to accomplish what we all need , a tool to resize pngs without any loss of alpha data ... So if a Elite programmer could work on this , to decompile every apk in the system and resize all the pngs and xml files and recompile them into the ported system , then One Software would apply on all hdpi , mdpi , ldpi , xhdpi etc ! get it or still not yet clear ??

Hi Mercedes.
Unfortunately no, it isn't. The theme designer you've linked is outdated (2012).
Now they call it "Theme Service" and you must apply and be accepted to start using theirs web based designing tool:

Master @pas2001 is one of the few fortunates that had already been accepted by Samsung.
Nevertheless, this is no limitation to honorables like @bobster0203, @Venom0642 and @ted77usa that are already ruling the field despite Samsung wishes :victory:
You may follow their work here.

It's not "so" ... so ... I may suggest you an alternate approach as below:
(Note: it's not a "state of art" as others but it's mine and I can submit it to you)
a) Download my S6 theme package (signature link)
b) Download my KATKit set of tools (signature link)
c) Decompile the Theme Package (with the tools)
d) Play with the Theme. Learn. Talk. Shout. This is a development/sharing forum. We are all here for this purpose only.
e) Recompile YOUR OWN Theme Package (with the tools)
f) Share it with the community
g) Be Xtremely Welcome

Can this theme be ported to other devices running theme engines ? I have not themecenter apk working on my phone.

Yes, it's possible.
Coding knowledge is desirable but not mandatory. Design skills are placed just between desirable and mandatory.
Only will is mandatory.
There are a lot of stuff regarding your needs that has been already discussed during the development of the AllBacksBlack S6 that you probably will consider very useful. Please take your time to read the thread.
The above development used a tool set named KAT Kit that, as you will see, is already set up to work with Samsung Theme Engine. Again, read the thread that there are lots of needed knowledge spread there.
