Do we not have a working kitchen for EVO? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My question is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748419, was like how did the feck that happened, and I wanted to learn so badly.
Do we have a kitchen that developers from xda uses to make custom roms or kernels for EVO? I'd like to try, pls. I'll even read up some android development books. :x
Thx

Here is another one that I used to use. I believe it is Evo specific.
Evo Kitchen
EDIT: Nevermind, it is on the nexus one forums, still a good kitchen though lol

Cool guys thanks
It just needs someone with compiling knowledge
I have not got around to trying it, but i may get time later tonight...
The first thing is to see if the kernel is different between the g2 and the z, if not, we can pretty much use everything that the g2 is using... I think there will be minor differences though, but just speculating at the moment

I've just seen this thread. I've just posted the recompiled module on
forum .xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9040970
gosh it's annoying that XDA won't allow me to post URLs. You'll need to cut and paste and remove the nasty space.

Kernel works great. Running at 1.4 Ghz for a couple hours. Man it's fast.
Wouldn't this be better in the dev forum ?
Not trying to be smart, just sayin' that it would be nice to have some actual dev topics in the DZ dev forum !

[Q] How to port ROM from another device to DInc?

Sorry if this question is in the wrong section or has already been asked. Seeing as it has to do with development I thought this section would be appropriate, and I couldn't find anything else really helping on this subject.
What I am wondering is does anyone have or know where a good guide on how to port a ROM from one device to another is? I have done some AOSP work in the past, so I'm not COMPLETELY new to ROM building, but I have had no success yet with porting anything.
Theres a flash patch somewhere that might work depending on what rom u want to port

he's talking about the IncredibleDoes AOSP flashpatch. Replaces files in AOSP builds to Inc ones.
I think IncredibleDoes was working on some sort of thing that made porting easier. I did a quick search but didn't find it, but it is around. Either way, he was definitely our most active dev in terms of porting. Best way to find him is on twitter @IncredibleDoes.

Oh okay, I just did a quick search for "Flash Patch" and found the one you are talking about, plus another that was built off that one. Thank you.
If I was going to learn how to port, after learning how to use the kitchen, I would look at some roms that are already ported and see how they did it.
First and most recent one that comes to mind is preludedrew's gingerbread rom.
Might even want to pm him about it as he is pretty active.

To correct this, Evervolv is not a 'port'. It is specifically built for the Droid Incredible platform. Exactly like CyanogenMod, which without them/that mod, Evervolv wouldn't have been possible. Sorry just wanted to clear that up =P

What Happened to the Kings Roms??? No where to be found!!?

So many problems so little time:
1. Wrong section
2. There's a link to the Kings Alliance 7.3 ROM on the 1st page
3. You suck
4. If you haven't noticed the Devs are caught up pleasing themselves and not you (when's the last time you saw an android 2.2 ROM by Kings? The Devs are doing gingerbread projects now home boy)
5. You realize there's a seperate website and STILL complain on XDA in the wrong section
6. You suck
7. New Devs are getting into it and a lot of "teams" are changing. New projects in the kitchen, new releases, new everything. Jump on the wagon and maybe possibly consider not cluttering up the DEVELOPMENT section with QUESTIONS.
8. Or at least come up with an interesting question if you can't find your way to Q&A
And don't read this and think "aw shucks, whys everybody picking on me." This whole post is going to be a burnfest because it's something to do while we all download the newest Kings ROM that was "hiding"

I was thinking the same thing, bro. I been on here snooping looking for a Kings rom or ACS with these wonderfully stable goodies in them...
But maybe their lead people are burnt the hell out?
Cooking compiling testing for week after week after week- must be hard on your life.
I hope they haven't moved on permanently, but we have to remember what they have done for us. With those classy looking konikub master pieces for our Evos and thank the memory.
If they are just taking a break- thats awesome. But if they are gone for good- hey... it was a badass sweet looking ride wasn't it?
You dont really mean Kings, though dude.....- you mean konikub in particular.....([ACS] Koni's ELITE Series III - (ES3 - 03/24/11) - The evolution of ELITE!!!) (guy just mispoke...is all)

How about porting this, Devs?

I'm sure some of you are aware of Galnet, I wonder how hard it would be to port a modded MIUI over to the Inc2? Which do you think would be the most feasibly compatible?
EDIT: Here's the link.

If INC-S has it like mentioned above, shouldn't be too bad to port..
I'd like to see how it runs myself. It sounds interesting. Although, I looked for a few minutes, and couldn't find a list of changes from the stock MIUI. What exactly did they change?

More Tutorials for Develeping = more Roms and Possibilitys..?

Hello !
I had a thaught last evening...
If there would be more "(Video)Tutorials" and "How to's" on how to build/cook a Rom, there would be more Roms right..? Cause everyone is able to cook Roms.
Im designing Flyers, Websites etc. for about 2 Years now. I would really like to cook a Rom, or at least make a good Theme for the Samsung Galaxy Wonder.
But however, Im not able to, I just don't know how to do it...
So, my Question is:
Could anyone make a Tutorial (i preffer a video, but texttutorial is also okay), on how to Build a Rom, or at least a Theme for the SGW ?
I think Im not the only one who is interested in this, cause I think there are alot more Designers out there, using our Phone.
I'd really appreciate that

Hi
There're many ways to make a custom rom. If you are a beginner, you can look for dsixda's kitchen. It is easy to use and can run in many os. And you must take a look to system folder and know what those folders contain too. If i'm free. I will make a tutorial in making a custom rom.

Okey, I tried everything, I read everything possible...
Cooking a Rom, is definitely nothing I can easily do or learn.
I'd be happy If I could make a Theme, thats the main Thing I want to do. Cause I kinda like the Stock Rom..
Good Batterie Time, Fast etc. you know.
So there I only need a good Theme.
You can look here for how to port other roms : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598713. I have tried it but im never get a rom to boot

Also try Chef Central. There are some excellent resources in there. The Beginner's Guide to Android ROM Development is particularly helpful
