Hi all, first off i'm new to the TP2 forum, just got my phone yesterday (retired my Kaiser). I love the TP2, am enjoying it great so far.
However I used the camera once to take a pic and it was fine, a huge improvment on my kaiser. But then later that night I went to use it again and I noticed a thick, crooked black line starting from the bottom of the screen (right hand side in landscape mode), ending a quarter of the way in. It's only visible when I use the rear camera and on both the still and video camera mode.
It wasn't there when I first used the camera and I haven't dropped it. I checked the lense but I don't see a mark on it.
Has anyone else had this issue? And is there a fix for it? Normally I'd probably let it slide except I have only just got this phone and now there is thia stupid black line on my pics and videos. Please help.
By the way its a stock rom I haven't changed anything except add a few cabs and most of those I installed before the camera issues.
Fixed it! I accidently dropped it on the carpet from a low height and the back cover slipped a bit I put it back and checked the camera and hey presto whatever it was dissapeard! YAY! Although I don't recommend dropping your phone as a fix if you ever experience a problem like this

Hi all, appreciate if anyone could help me on my issue. When I make video call to my friend, I can see his cam but he can't see mine. It seems like the front cam is not turned on as I myself also can't see my cam displayed on screen. I am not sure this is the hardware (front cam) issue or firmware. I am using HTC Hermes WM6.
Or is there any way for me to check the functionallity of the cam?
hello i have tha same problen since last days
so u mean previously ur cam is functioning? Any idea what is happening? Any expert or user who faces this before and know how to fix? Or at least anyone know how to test the functionality of the video cam (hardware).
your solution is:
the FLEX cable on the front cam is disconected, call a local lab or do it yourself.
I have uploaded a solution to the main hermes forum in the past 4 months.
i had this problem before. it's one of the buttons on the screen during a video call which you need to enable your own camera for the video call.
The connection of the camera to the main board is known to come loose from dropping the phone, etc. If your phone has taken a few tumbles it's highly likely this could be the case, if you've tried everything software side and you feel skilled enough, open it up (void your warranty) and plug it back in (it's quite straight forward, you just need to be very attentive and careful). Otherwise, send it some where to get fixed.
Hi
Basically been having this problem for a while now and its starting to bug me. I rooted my phones ago now, and until recenlty the camcorder worked fine on all ROMS, however recently been facing a big problem with it. Every time I launch camcorder on any ROM my phone will freeze and have to take battery out and restart. I unrooted it and installed stock and it worked fine (so it can't be the SD card) re rooted again installed RSK and boom same problem. Does anyone have solutions to this?
Thanks in advance
If I remember correctly, the aroma installer gives you the option to change between two with a warning about one not recording. Also, have you tried another third party app to see if that works? You may also want to try taking the battery cover off and pressing (not too firmly) over the camera window and on the metal sheilding around it. It might have slightly disloged from the upper board but try the software first.
If you start noticing the notification LED, receiver (earspeaker) or camera flash not working as well, then it may need the upper board reconnecting to the main board and you should send it in for repair, but this is a pretty thin possibility, as I said, software first.

So I just recently bought a brand new One X from At&t's site. So far the phone is great and I really like it. But here is the issue and this is a weird one : the back 8mp camera doesn't work! I searched on google and youtube for solutions but to no avail. I say it doesnt work because it just shows a black screen and acts if its frozen or something, but I can press the home and other buttons succesfuly. It won't even let me switch to the front facing camera (no button to do so). So I did a factory reset on the device to see if that fixed it. It didn't but the front facing camera started working about 30 minutes into the usage after reset. It still doesn't show a button to switch cameras, and even other camera apps are the same (they just show front facing camera).. Any ideas on whats going on, or what I need to do..I am really trying to avoid a trip to the At&t store......cpied but the same problem
safest thing to do would to go back to the AT&T store, as long as it wasn't you who effed it up.
I just got this phone 2 weeks ago (this Wednesday) and I noticed this issue right from the start. But then it started working fine and now it's not working again tonight.
Basically when I open the camera app, it will not focus on anything other than extremely up close. No matter where I tap, it's all blurry outside of like 3-4 inches from the camera.
I did some searching and found a link on androidcentral but nothing stating for sure if this issue has been fully resolved now. Clearly it hasn't for mine. Has anyone experienced this and found an actual fix or do I need to swap this out with the hope that it doesn't happen again? Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I searched for 'focus' so if there's a thread already about this that I didn't see, please direct me there and close this up!
Thanks!
My gf got a note 4 (white) abt a week ago. And she coulnbt take pictures at all initially because it wouldnt focus on anything. (Never tried macro type pic to see if would focus on something close)
She ended up handing it to me to figure out and after i changed picture modes. And switched back to auto then the issue resolved itself and hasnt returned.
Fwiw my note 4 (black, purchased 10-16-14) never had this issue.

Oddly enough I think I'm having the same issue. Just got my Note 4 a few days ago, and I've found that when I launch the camera app, it either doesn't focus at all, or takes extra long to get into focus. I can see the little target image progress as it tries to focus, but it just keeps trying and fails. Every once in a while though, it will correctly focus. So the camera certainly is capable of properly focusing, but I'm not sure if its a software thing (my first conclusion) or a hardware thing (probably not).
same here
same issue i noticed if you put your hand up to the lense then slowly remove it and point it somewhere in the distance it will focus
im gonna try that solution though thank you!
Same issue hereon my wife's phone. Noticed it from day 1 but wasn't able to go back to the att store until day 17 after purchase. They would not budge on swapping the device since I was past 14 days. My only option is a warranty replacement, but I will hold out for now to see if a software update fixes the issue as I would rather not have a refurbished device. A quick shake of the device and it focuses. If you exit the camera app after it initially focuses and go back to the app it works fine. It only seems to be an issue when the camera app is not used for a while.
Its weird because I use another camera app (like the Google Camera one) and it will focus just fine, but the default Samsung-installed Camera app will sometimes fail to focus or sometimes will work just fine. So it seems like it may be a software issue.
Okay, so I'm having some issues with my G3.
1. Issue: Last night i noticed that my rear camera was not working. I was running Lineage OS 14.1. I couldn't rotate from my front camera to rear one, there was no option for that. So, this morning i installed stock MM 30B and i thought that it will work just fine, it could have been a minor software issue..well, it is not working. I also noticed that flashlight is not working either...AND my front facing camera is upside down What in the hell is wrong with that? I've searched for solution but on google but couldn't find it so i started installing apps that leads me to my second issue.
2. Issue: WIFI is SLOW. It took forever to download Facebook app from app store, even though the signal strength was maxed, and my phone was like half meter away from my router...My PC gets 55Mb/s and phone just over 5...
For the camera, i tried to unscrew my device to see if the ribbon cable is not attached properly, but i was unable to find a proper screwdriver...i managed to get 1 screw out, but it was pain in ass so i figured ill take him back instead of continue to take apart my device....
Any advice on this 2 issues? I'd appriciate it

Please reply there. Did the issue occur after you updated your cm13?
