Right now I have a suction car window mount zip tied to the handle bars of a thousand dollar bicycle. I gotta upgrade since I use it so much to track my rides. I've found a few via google, but wanted to see if anyone has tried something and has knowledge they could share.

I'd be interested in a link to what you've found so far...
Personally I'd prefer an armband if you bike for hours at a time and want to listen to tunes or access for calling while riding.
If you only want it to track, I'd just stash it in one of the side pockets of my rear rack sack... then again I've never explored the potential of tracking my rides with my phone (already have a garmin)... is there a particular app suited for that?
I can link next time im at a computer. As for access I use a set of rocketfish BT headphones that also have a mic making phone calls about as good as your going to get while riding. I like to keep cardio trainer up to watch my stats while I ride. I'll prob just order a couple different models and see what works best.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Oh and cardio trainer blows a reg gps out of the water. Mph, calories burned, and a ton of other stuff. Plus paid version has a race against yourself feature that over lays previous rides so you can have someone pushing you even when alone. So many pros to using your phone especially when paired with a BT headset, I can go on forever. Highly recommend looking into it.

Since you seem to have the luxury of having some extra dough to spend, take a look at the BioLogic ReeCharge by Dahon. It hooks up to a dyno hub and can be used to charge your phone while you ride. They also have a mount for the iPhone, and who knows, maybe it could be modded to fit the Vibrant.
I personally plan on trying this in the near future as I ride year round for work (even in the lovely Chicago winters) and it would be nice to use navigation, among other things, while keeping the phone charged.
It's pretty new so still pricey, but cool either way.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Thats a very cool gadget, but not something that would be much use to me since low battery isnt an issue for me until late in the evenings. While I do have enough excess money in my pockets to afford a couple
(cut off my post)
...couple of cheap mounts I cant justify spending over 100 on aomething ill never use. Maybe when pice drops by half ill get one to play with.
Yeah, the price point is why I'm not sure how near the "near future" is... Plus i'd have to get a dyno hub or a prebuilt wheel. A lot of added cost for not that much benefit. I just can't deny how cool it would be, and I have a tendency to splurge on what I perceive as cool.
Anyway, which mounts are you looking at? What I like about the iPhone mount from Dahon is that it's weatherproof. What I don't like about it should be obvious. Since I ride year round, regardless of weather, the weatherproof aspect would be pretty essential for my use. I see a few for the Vibrant, but they look bulky, and don't seem to be weatherproof.
Check out the mount from the company Thought out, they have a web site and they are on amazon. I have their PED3 FORM mount in my car and it works great. I saw they have a bike mount that looks good but since i mountain bike i dont want to have my phone exposed in the event i take a digger.
Will do. I gotta do some research on them and get.something ordered. Mount I had been using suffered a breakage so now its riding in my pockets on rides.

All I saw in the bike mount section was for the ipod/iphone. Perhaps I have to pick through their site some more.
I did go ahead and purchase this mount:
http://tinyurl.com/2es8ke7
Which seems like a pretty good deal since it comes with both car and bike mount options. They also offer google checkout so thats always a +.
Yes they only list iphone but the mount for the skinned iphone is just right for the vibrant. The fingers that hold the phone are bendable and could easily fit a skinned vibrant. My vibrant without a case or skin needed the fingers bent in a little to work but man it holds the phone very securely.
Will keep it in mind, but I cringe at the thought of taking my phone out of a protective case. I paid full price for this joker and only want to do so once.
Got the mount in and this thing is very very nice. The mount comes with a highly adjustable clamp mount and a suction cup flexy neck windshied mount that you can can transition back and forth quite easily. What strikes me thw most is the solid design of it. If anyone is interested in pics let me know.

Yes, pics please. I ride trails, so I would never attach a $500 phone to my frame, but I'm still interested to see.
Whats included. Three components. Phone mount, bike mount, and car mount.
All pieces are very solid.

The phone mount is quite impressive as it offers some nice features. It opens very wide via the small puch button that ratchets it open. All mounts I've used in the past have used foam to retain the phone. This one is different in that it uses rubber fins and two swing out tabs as can be seen below.
The phone mount connects to the two mounting options via a slide notch, pretty typical.
The bike mount is simple yet offers some nice features also. As you can see it breaks into a few key pieces. The two piece clamping halves plus the thumb screw and lock washer. You can put the halves together with adjustments on three notches offering a wide range of widths. The bike mount is very low profile and offers a tightening ball in socket that can be rotated 360° for handle bar or top bar mounting.
The car mount i had no intention of using, but found myself pleasantly surprised by two things. The rigidity of the arm and the locking strength of the suction mount and push button release of the matching locking lever. Very nice set up.
Overall i expect to be more and more happy with this mount. It is very robust and appears to be far and away the highest quality mount I've owned for car or other. I plan on mounting on the top bar to keep in as close to center and away from impact if bike should fall with or without me on it. I don't know if id use it on rock hopping mtn biking, but think you'd be pretty safe on riding trails. Remember the vibrant features a tether hole so if your concerned the perhaps utilize this as a safety just incase, i may do that myself.
Hope this has helped some. All composed from my phone via xda app so i hope it come out looking decent.

Can you post a pic of the case on the bike. I can't see how this unwieldy thing be possibly considered low profile.
I had a similar(older generation from 2 years ago) bike mount that ended up breaking off midride.
Yea i can stick it on a bike tomorrow. But you misunderstood what i was referring to. The phone portion is by no means low profile. The bike clamp portion doesn't have a very high profile. Check the pics to see what i meant.

Has anyone tried this car mount from Clingo?
It looks really cool but I wonder how functioanal it...
http://www.jr.com/category/office/accessories/cellular-phones/docks/page-20/
You do realize that there are at least 10 different car mount kits on that page? Which one specifically are you talking about?
Doesn't matter...I think the OP is asking about the concept. This material is like glue but does not leave a residue on your phone. So...does this clingo material really work? If so...it may work for iPads too that are tethered to our Evo's.
Looks really cool. I'll be a guinea pig and buy one of these to see if they really work.
In our family we have Evo, iPhone, iPad...if this sticks to all 3 that would be great...1 mount for all types....sounds like a winner to me. Plus if you do a search they can be had for under 20 shipped.
I drive pretty hard on the weekends to trust sticky goo to hold the phone against all those lateral Gs......but maybe it'll work well for my dad and his mini and he drives like a granny

Well....yeah there are lots of stuff on that page BUT only one Clingo car mount as the thread was asking....
Here is a more direct link.....

Well I looked into it and I just ordered one tonight. The reviews look promising so does the product since you can use it with a case on or without. Theres also a thread about it at androidforums, the last post has a good review. There is a few videos of the product on youtube and im hoping its as good as it seems. Its just I am SICK of waiting for the offical dock.
Here is a video of the product on a Droid, basically a stand but the car mount is the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaFyE-WF2CU&feature=related
I worry about it getting dirty and it will put the stress on the battery door clips. Maybe good but for $30 I would want to see a few reviews from people who use on a daily basis.
Just watched another video and it can be cleaned but at the end the removal looked way to easy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuREArW3c48&feature=related
Also found fro $24 at Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Clingo-Universal-Hands-Free-iPhone-Devices/dp/B003JTHMSM
I just ordered one from Amazon (thanks clayginn for providing the link) and was able to get the last one from a dealer for $24.99. Hopefully it's shipped before Friday, because I'm really going to need it then.
Anyways, I have the universal mount that Sprint sells and it's absolutely awful with the Evo. I have it mounted on my dash and the phone vibrates and shakes even when my car is running idle at times ('05 Mazda 3 five door). The phone may also be a bit too heavy for it, as the holder gradually moves down after a period of time, even though I have it extremely tightened. My girlfriend also noticed the vibrations when it was used on the windshield.
Hopefully the Clingo mount works better. I watched some videos where the reviewers were driving with it attached and it seemed to be very solid. I'll post a quick review early next week. If it's here before Friday, then it'll be used for a long trip over the weekend.
very tempting
Looks great, have to try it!!! Thanks OP
Brought 2 of these from Ebay $11 shipped these will get my phones off my desk mounted to my computer screen
http://www.clingo.com/on-the-go/universal-mobile-tether/
Also per allsop CS (the makers or Dist) clingo will not work on Leather or silicon!!!!!
I'm interested to see how long the stickiness lasts. I'm going to get the car mount one today and we'll see how it holds up.

Same here, but it looks like tap water will regain the stickiness but we'll have to see how long that lasts over time. I also read that it can be really tough to remove a device if it's connected to the mount in hot weather. It's nearly 100F here and will be used on my dash for nearly four hours in direct sunlight on Friday. Someone mentioned how he had to cool it off in front of the car A/C for several minutes to remove the phone easily.
Mine is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I'll give it a quick test and let you guys know how it works. I'm just hoping it's better than that crappy Sprint mount.
Just received the Clingo mount and took it out for a quick drive. Ended up working very well. Much better than the Sprint mount I originally had. Extremely fast and easy to set up.
I prefer having my phone mounted on the dashboard when used as a nav. Just place the sticky 3M disc onto the dash and let it sit for a while. If you put the mount and phone on the disc after a few seconds, then be ready for your phone to fall. It's 95F here and the disc became really stuck after about 10 minutes, with no falls afterward. As for using the mount on a windshield, it works just fine. Just use the attached suction cup and it'll stick great.
The "arm" that connects from the suction cup and then to the sticky pad is pretty long, therefore your device will be closer to you in the car. It isn't immensely long at all...I actually prefer it this way. In addition to the Sprint mount, I also have an older Garmin nav unit and both mounts are pretty short. You'll be able to see images/text/etc. much easier with the extended arm on the Clingo mount.
As for the actual pad...it works like a charm. I attached the Evo without a case and then with the Seidio Active Limited Edition. The phone stuck perfectly fine with or without the case. I tried to get it to fall off, but it wouldn't budge. While driving, though, I noticed the phone shook a bit when used with the Seidio case. However, that case adds quite a bit of weight to the phone. When used naked, I rarely noticed the phone shaking or vibrating at all. Very easy to view the screen clearly while driving. The pad doesn't leave a single bit of grime on the back of the phone once you detach it. I've attached and removed the pad a few times thus far and the phone is still sticking just fine.
If you're going to use this mount with a naked Evo or with a case that doesn't protect the camera lens too well, then be ready to possibly have the pad cover and stick to the lens. You can get around this, but then the upper part of the phone will not be attached to the pad. It's possible that the phone won't have as much support but from what I can tell, there shouldn't be any issues if you mount the pad below the camera. Again, the pad will not leave any grime, scratches, etc. to the lens if stuck to the pad.
Two things I'll be keeping an eye out for: First, will the pad still continue to be reliable in the future? Washing it with warm tap water to regain stickiness is easy enough, but we'll need to see how it lasts. Second, is how the pad will react to weather conditions. So far, it's been very easy to remove the phone from the pad. But I'm waiting to see how easy or tough it will be to remove the phone after it's stuck on the pad for 4+ hours in 95F weather (though the mount will be close to the A/C vents). And, how it will be in really cold weather later this year.
Overall, I'm very happy with this mount thus far. It's stable when driving, easier and clearer to see the screen due to less vibrations and the extended arm and easy to assemble/disassemble. MUCH better than the Sprint universal mount, and $15 cheaper. If there's interest, I'll post some pictures and my experience with the mount early next week after my long driving trip over the weekend.
Thanks for that update man. I didn't get a chance to pick that up yesterday.

Just wanted to post this review of a mount I bought on ebay ( will get the name and link soon )
I only took one pic so far when I first got it. But it totally AWESOME!!!
It might seem a little weird to many people and it did with me at first too..
Why, because it mounts INTO the cd player of your car.. You can do other slits in your dash but its designed for your cd player..
As for the quality, it looks very stout it feels a little cheaper than it looks but after a few weeks now, in my VW golf and hitting hard bumps, it holds like a champ..
What I love about it, it will rotate either way and will angle either way..
So if my passenger wants to watch a movie or something, easily done.. Or when using navigation and Car Panel I keep it in Portrait mode..
I cannot get over the PERFECTNESS of this mount.. I couldn't DREAM of a better place to put it or mount it..
It takes seconds to install, you just slide the mount into the cd, where a cd would go and tighten the screw..
THATS IT!!
the only thing I did do was cut the bottom leg that holds the bottom of the phone as its not needed, plus I only cut the Bottom U portion of it (hard to explain) so the charger wouldn't have any pressure on it..
In anycase Ill get more pics soon, but I just wanted to RAVE about this product.. And for only 15 bucks its the best investment I made with this phone.

Also why I love the way this mount is, it feels like I have a flip up dvd radio.. Only better because its an EVO
I also have the Otterbox Commuter and Extended battery.. Both configurations work PERFECT.. tight and snug.

Yep MT5000

this seems like a VERY unusual mount. So this would make my cdplayer useless while this is mounted?

Yes, if mounted in the CD player, you would not be able to play a CD.
It does work very well though and puts the phone in the perfect place for me in my truck. You can also use it in other places you have room to slide the mount into.
I've been using mine daily for the past three weeks with no issues and nothing but praise.

I got http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ELOOZO/ref=oss_product from Amazon. Works GREAT with my EVO and my wife's BB and instincts. For $15 it is definitely worth it.
I bought the mount that the OP gave a link to. I really like it and have ordered 2 more for friends for Christmas gifts. Easy to install (if you can call it that - you just insert it ), functional, my charger fits into the port and the mount doesn't interfere, rotates easily, sturdy. SOOooooo much better and safer to have my Evo mounted like this as I use it for navigation and streaming music.
Thanks for the info on this mount. Got one ordered last night.

Good find, I also have the commuter case and didn't feel like taking it on and off if I got the official HTC mount.
I ordered the Mountek mount suggested by the OP. Works great, and keeps the phone in the most convenient location on my dash.
Now with a good mount I realized I need a way to connect to the car's audio system, so I just ordered an inline FM modulator. This will provide an aux in jack so I can stream Pandora, etc. I'm also thinking of wiring in a mic up near the visor so I can have a totally built-in hands-free system.
Thanks OP!
amazing reviews for it looks like itd be perfect for my tibby. ordering now
This is the best car mount BY FAR!
The green part is sticky and works with any case just about unless yours is slicked up and oiled. Same stuff on the bottom with suction.

The soundgate m2 worked great for my hero and I am going to use the same for my new evo. Would suggest it only if you have a case as you have to attach a coin size disk. Awesome mount!

Once you get it plugged into your aux in jack, you will be handsfree. At least that is how iw work for me. When I'm plugged into my (built-in) aux in calls come through my speakers, when I anser I am on speaker phone and the caller's voice is on the car's speakers. It. Is. Sweet!
I got a similar product manufactured by platinum at bestbuy, and within the first few days it started to lose its stickiness. After my phone fell out face-first onto my gear shift twice, I'd had enough. I returned it to bestbuy (at least they refund your money, no questions asked) and went looking for a better alternative.
I settled on a car dock I found at my local at&t store which I guess was designed for the iphone4. It has mechanical locking arms with a release button, good padding, a strong mechanical suction cup for mounting on the windshield, and an adjustable arm.
I am much more satisfied with the new mount, don't fear my evo falling out of it at all, and have it mounted landscape below my rear view mirror - very convenient.

im sure the first question would be whether it trips the autoload or not, which it does not, it isn't nearly long enough in probably 99.9% of car cd players
the thing is tight and doesn't wobble at all but can easily be removed if need be, oh and the bottom plate can be removed, so its just the two gripper thingies
its also at the perfect eye level (for me anyway: mitsubishi lancer), and doesnt obscure the view of the road at all.
Personally I use the Clingo vent mount and I think that its the BEST car mount ever! All you see is the phone not some bulky grips on the sides. These things work! Just my two cents! www.clingo.com
unfortunately due to the placement of my vents and the view obstruction (annoyance) of windshield ones, conventional mount locations are out of the question...ive seen that clingo before, and i agree it is a nice solution as well
I just bought a clingo right after I read this thread. And its awesome. Check out the youtube videos. The vibrant really sticks on harder than your crazy ex gf lol or a dog

Mine is not a universal mount but one just for the vibrant. I have a huge extended battery on my vibrant. Since there was nothing available, I made a custom holster out of kydex that fits it like a glove, access to all buttons, speaker and camera lens (for times i want to film my bicyling). Impossible for it to pop out. You physically have to unclip it out of the holster to release it. I made it with a 1/4" thread on the back so I can use it anywhere you would mount a camera. I made a stand just for it in and my bluetooth keyboard in my van. It can adjust from vertical to horizontal very easily. When i go biking, the holster attaches to the handlebar mount I made. It will also fit any camera tripod.
i bought this hoping to use it as a camera mount for track days with my car.

it was too shaky for my camera but if you just needed a mount for GPS or some other use, this worked very well with my phone in a TPU case. i found it for $12 on amazon
I purchased an Arkon megagrip for mine and was so pleased I ended up getting 2 more... 1 for my wife and 1 to use at work. It may have bulky pads on the side to hold it, but I know it will never let go unless I hit the release button. Perfect function and easy access to everything. Vent mounted in my car, dash mounted at work.

Same sentiment here. The mount feels solid there is no wobble when im using it and it holds the Vibrant beautifully. Thank you for a solid find.
That looks interesting, but I'm thinking you'd be SOL with that bad boy and a headunit like mine.

Mine showed up in the mail today. Simply a great mount, Thanks for the tip!
today i bought a universal mount from rocketfish. the bicycle and car mount. i think i'm going to like this thing. the arm itself looks like what turbosix has, but it has the mount itself like what most universals have with the padded sides and the legs at the bottom.
what i really like about this is that i do NOT have to take off my silicone cover when i put the phone in a landscape position. it barely fits the device when it is extended all the way. and i can have it oriented so that i can take pictures with it when i want.
I just got the offiical Samsung Vehicle Navigation Mount Car Kit

While I was concerned about comments that the audio out did not work... it works PERFECTLY on my Vibrant running Froyo 2.2 You have to read the short instructions, OK so some of us don't like to "read" and "follow" written instructions, which tells you to download the Samsung Car/Home app... make sure you get the newest version of the app which supports Froyo... and when you run the app you have to touch the speaker icon to disable the internal speaker which then enables the audio output from the headphone jack on the Car cradle... a little confusing at first BUT it is a great mount AND the app works fine also... highly recomended!
Did a video of the mount in case anyone else is still doubting this mount.

The mount is simply amazing. It's all you need.

im sure the first question would be whether it trips the autoload or not, which it does not, it isn't nearly long enough in probably 99.9% of car cd players
the thing is tight and doesn't wobble at all but can easily be removed if need be, oh and the bottom plate can be removed, so its just the two gripper thingies
its also at the perfect eye level (for me anyway: mitsubishi lancer), and doesnt obscure the view of the road at all.

today i bought a universal mount from rocketfish. the bicycle and car mount. i think i'm going to like this thing. the arm itself looks like what turbosix has, but it has the mount itself like what most universals have with the padded sides and the legs at the bottom.
what i really like about this is that i do NOT have to take off my silicone cover when i put the phone in a landscape position. it barely fits the device when it is extended all the way. and i can have it oriented so that i can take pictures with it when i want.

I have the same Rocketfish mount and it's pretty impressive. I use this bodyglove case and I don't have any problems putting it in the mount. The suction cup has NEVER come loose from my windshield - winter or summer - and the phone sits solid. Plus I like the ease of switching the mount from landscape to horizontal.
But after watching the Clingo video, I'm already considering buying one.
Damn. I want one and they are all out everywhere
As the title says. Anybody found any mounts or something of that sort? I'd like to film my trips/ soccer games so having it on the bike would help i guess.
I own a bicycle shop and personally use the minoura ih100 phone grip. I use it w an HTC evo 4g w a thin cover. Works great. I ride on and off road - aggressively. I have seen many and all have been inadequate in materials and holding the phone confidently. Hope this helps
I don't own a bike shop and personally use my Jersey back pocket....

It sounds like you are looking for a GoPro, and not a mount.
I'm looking for a safe mount for my bicycle, even if it doesnt have a camera cutout. Ex:

I actually just bought this case today. I'm going to use my recently retired HD2 to track my stats via Endomondo pro and for music. Going to tether it to my t989 that i keep in my backpack during rides.
I picked this one because of the rubber straps that help secure the phone down.It should be arriving in the next few days, so i'll let you know how it works.
I ride about 150 miles a week..
I've been through the grind with all sorts of "bike mounts and programs"
after a year of owning an android phone and many applications..
There is only 1 answer IMO..
Hands down the best freaking program out.. Sports tracker live
By far the best program in every possible way.. I want go into the details of what it does but lets say it gives the 600.00 garmin device a run for its money.. Every and more.. Except no cadence
Now.. as for a mount..
My bike is sleek looking, and i plan to keep it that way.. As for the first recommendation, he says it works but I would never feel comfortable with something that is "universal"
Something that ratchet'es in with plastic clicking locks..
The solution...
A two piece case that is DESIGNED for your PHONE.. I personally always use Otterbox and would mount the plastic to a handlebar mount and the rubber that wraps around the phone will securely lock INTO the plastic case..
As for water proof, if it rains all I do is wrap a plastic bag around the phone and then lock it into the plastic case.
This was with my EVO and it worked flawlessly and looked great!

When I got this phone my #1 concern was what I was going to do about a mount..
After much research I found this!
Ballistic case.. A double piece /rubber/plastic construction.. Works just as well as my otter box set up!
Sleek and useful.
Not including the fact on back country roads with my bluetooth head phones, I can watch the local news VIA Slingplayer
Wow, nice. I wonder if you can tilt it the other way? like horizontal?

Yep... Depends on the what you mount the case to.
I used an old universal light mount that does twist and it works fine..
But, lol, I don't use it to watch 16:9 movies.. heheheh
Sometimes, lol
No really though, I use it to see my stats 99% of the time..
If I do go into an area that will permit me to watch something, I usually just listen and not look... Accidents on a bike are not fun

HUH? what do you mean you want that in case?
If you want a case that completely covers the front, I'm not sure what cases for this phone are like that..
That being said
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Waterproof-...26?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item20bd1ccc62
That one sucks!
They give you these rubber back pieces to push the phone towards the front..
It still wobbles around and almost impossible to hit the power button/volume buttons
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects...hone-mounting-system-reloaded?ref=ending_soon
That iSLIC mounting system looks very interesting, but I'd be concerned about its ability to hold onto the phone if it took a sudden, jarring impact during a bike ride. Hit a bump in the road and the spring lets go even just a little bit... it's going airborne.
They got enough funding for their production run, so hopefully there will be some reviews and such coming soon.

hmm... interesting idea, but i'll need something with waterproof potential
i was using a home made one with velcro and plastic (pictures here http://www.bikeforums.net/showthrea...o-thier-bike?p=9128373&viewfull=1#post9128373), but i doubt it'll work with the new capacitive displays, back then the old phones were LCD touch pressure so it would work regardless of the layer in between
This is a review of iOttie Easy One Touch car mount holder for Note 2: http://www.iottie.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=1008&ProductType=321
When a company puts "easy one touch" in their product description, you know they mean business I went through a number of different car mounts in the last few months and this is the first one which allows a very easy one hand operation. I don't look for fancy car mounts with power cradles or already attached cables limiting my setup. I need flexibility of universal grip mount where I can manage where and how I attach my micro-usb power cable without a need of taking a case off my phone to fit into the holder. There is a few other car mounts available in this category, but what I found is that nobody delivered it to perfection like iOttie car mount.
Starting with suction pad, you get a very strong gel base adhesive material and the pad itself made out of thick and durable silicone. The suction cup is actually labeled as "super suction cup", and trust me - it will stick to anything like a cement glue. But at the same time, with some force it will be easy to remove, doesn't leave any residue, and after rinsing under the water it's like brand new. There were no issues sticking to a textured dashboard in my car. As a matter of fact, this is the only mount I was able to stick to a vertical textured area above glove box door in my car - totally insane!!! And just to prove that it can stick to any surface and be removed without damaging it, I also used it at home in a kitchen mounted to the top and upside down, as well as vertically mounted to my painted wall and the door. In every case it stuck dead on, and after removing (did require some force) it came off clean without leaving any residue or damaging the surface. Something to think about if you are planning to use it in the house as well. Arm connecting the mounting base to the actual holder has multiple adjustment knobs for different angles and full 360 degree rotation. All the knobs are easily accessible and very comfortable to adjust with fingers and doesn't require any additional tools. My only comment is that I wish it would have a universal ball joint connection as an option to be compatible with other mounts, although I'm not sure if its even necessary considering how capable this mount already is.
Now to the holder itself. It's as simple as it can get, yet brilliantly executed to work with one hand. You just push on two side bars to open both extendable arms which pops up a trigger button in the middle, and place your phone inside which pushes on the trigger button to securely lock the arms. That's all! Both arms and a trigger button have soft lining, no worries about scratching your phone or the case. And also you have an adjustable extension shelf for an additional support to find a better position for your phone placement relative to holder where side arms doesn't interfere with power/volume buttons. Everything is made out of durable plastic material. Also, I have to mention that both the packaging box and iOttie website have a very detailed installation/operation instructions.
This mount does exactly what it says - it's easy and it's one touch. Also it's a bargain for under $20 on Amazon, where it's actually #1 selling car mount.
Here are the pictures taken both at home and in the car. I still get a kick out of the one mounted vertically above my glove compartment

I enjoy the iOttie as well for my car dock needs. The only knock on it, and it's more for selected people, you can only use it with the OEM/slim battery and a slim case, such as yours or TPU case. It's not Defender friendly.
The only dock I think may compete with it is the Clingo you see on TV. But that dock may not work well with cases that are silicon based such as TPUs. But the Clingo Neklit works pretty well with my Cruzerlite TPU case.
does it come with any audio/power cableing, or is it just a mount?
thanks!
I can attest to the strength of the suction cup. It's the most insane one I've ever seen. Even when you don't pull down the locking tab, the suction cup holds so securely I had to literally peel it off the glass on the windshield. I've mounted it on the dash as well and if I pulled hard enough I think I would've cracked the dashboard.
The mount is great and there is only one thing I don't like about it, the locking screw for the actual phone clamp part is very sensitive. If you do not tighten it enough, it will slip and the phone will turn, but if you tighten it only a tad more, it won't move at all for adjustments. There is little margin for flexibility in the mount tightening.
Other than that it's great for the Note2.

Just a mount, I pictured whatever is included in the box. These are typically universal mounts, leaving flexibility to connect whatever else you want afterwards.

I don't recall any cables being included. Really 2.0A car charges are cheap, and you got a USB cable with the phone or you can pick one up one the cheap as well. The charger is open enough that you can use pretty much what you like to attach USB or 3.5mm wise.
Just ordered this as well. I liked the fact that suction can stick virtually anywhere. I'm tired of just putting my phone in my cup holder, even though I don't use my navigation too much I think I might now lol.

It comes with one! Well, after a little modification....
Anyone out there who's had this for more than a few weeks care to comment on durability? I'm seeing some reviews on Amazon saying that the joints get weak very quickly and start to sag; any truth to that?
I've been using this mount for a couple months and it is excellent. The suction cup is the strongest I've ever seen.

Ok I had this ordered back in Jan. But after I got back from CES show in Vegas. I got my hands on the mount I posted above!!:thumbup:
But I will say I did try it b4 it got returned to Amazon 1 week. #1 strong suction hand down! #2 Will stick anywhere, because the back is made of the same material as the lil sticky pads we use to, use on the dash! #3 Went from one case too another, it stopped working as it was. Because the new case was a lil thicker! So it kept popping out, cuz of the small handles on the sides! :banghead:
# durability is so so. It'll hold up for sometime for you?? Pending on use!

Yes it it strong but, but when it wares out after moving it so much it'll just b like a regular suction. They say rinse it off, but I've had that type of material b4! Fyi
Side note: please PLEASE, keep in mind if you leave it on your dash it WILL leave a permanent circle if used for a long extended period. The week I had it on the dash the circle is still there!!!:banghead::banghead: I'll post a pic 2morw!

I've had mine since December. I haven't noticed it sagging any more or worse than the other car docks. All of mine eventually loose grip in the ball joint. So, from the get go, I have it where the phone sits on the dash.
I haven't noticed the ring, but mine has been on the dash for months. I use it almost everyday.
There are many car mounts I have used, compared vent mount, dashboard mount and windshield mount, I prefer dashboard mount. The 360 degree design adjust my phone or other device until can clearly fit the screen, aLLreLi car mount is I'm using now. It's useful and flexible.
