Vibrant Cyclops Case - Vibrant Accessories

Trident has cases ready to sell the day after Thanksgiving in Orange, Blue, Green and Gray!!
tridentcase.com
and look on youtube

http://www.tridentcase.com/product_31_19.html
looks pretty sturdy. might pick it up to at least review it

looks like an otterbox defender case (that i've been waiting for). i guess the wait is over. hello cyclops

http://www.youtube.com/tridentcase

Wow, looks like you could fling your phone off the wall and have no damage with that case.

Pre-ordered!!!!

Bought one too... it was $40 with shipping. Still cheaper than Otterbox and Casemate.

Yea, this looks pretty nice. This is the top case on my list so far... but unfortunately I am going to need a case which fits over the extended battery, because I bought two upgraded 3500mah batteries which should be here any day. The extended batteries require a modified backing that will not work with any standard cover.

Yep I will be getting one of these.... Otterbox is taking too long.....

I have a case that I bought from daydeal.com, its a hybrid case made from hard plastic on the back and soft tpu on the sides, it pretty good.

I got the Cyclops case yesterday. Overall here are the Pros and Cons:
Pros:
#1: Offers very good protection for the phone, will protect it from typical drops and falls.
#2: Shipping was quick (2 days). Came from California
#3: Has a nice non slip grip. Overall feels solid and not too bulky.
#4: External buttons work well (volume, on/off)
Cons:
#1: The rubber lining collects lint from pockets
#2: The covers for USB port and headphone jack are difficult to lift up.
#3: The built in screen protector has some kind of "haze" (like you see when oil is mixed with water) and I tried cleaning it off but its still there. Not sure if that is something that will dry out over a few days.
#4: It didn't come with an extended headphone jack adapter, the video shows one in the package. I haven't tried my headphones with it so may not need it but somewhat false advertisement with the adapter in the video.
While I am satisfied with the Cyclops I still like my TPU case better. Just my 2 cents.

i also got my cyclops case today(in white) and the headphone jack is extremely accessible i.e. i took a really fat cord from my senheiser's and it fits with tons of room to spare. im not sure why they said they would include an adapter for it and not send one its kinda weird. i also have the oily haze you were talking about but i can only see it if the screen is off
side note: dont touch the part of the plastic that touches the screen...it has a conductive layer and the more you touch it the less responsive it gets (i had an otterbox defender case for my HD2 and i wiped the inside of the screen protector and it was just not responsive anymore
in my opinion it looks nicer than the defender would have and has a better name.
trident cyclops > otterbox defender
as for the lint in your pocket thats the price you pay for having a linty pocket heh heh
only thing i find weird is the double over the micro usb port: it has a cover built into the phone...and one built into the case just remember to open the port before you put it in the case cuz its hard to slide it open with the case on
tl;dr i give it an 9/10 only because it does make the phone kinda thick
trident cyclops > otterbox defender (that they never made heh heh)

How long did it take to ship?

damn i really wish i could get this case but 2 things are keeping me from buying it
1. I don't like that pre-installed screen protector i use zagg and i wanna keep using it
2. I have a front facing camera, yea i know i can drill out a hole so #1 is the main reason

I took off the pre-installed protector. I have the Zagg screen protector and it looks/works great. The pre-installled protector is held on with a little dab of glue and its easy to pry off with your fingers.

The point of the preinstalled SP is that it covers the biggest hole in the case. Now say you spill a glass of water on the front of your phone, then it will likely just pour right inside the case. Perhaps a light bead of silicon under the edge would replace this feature, but then removing the case would be difficult. Just some thoughts.

just so everyone can get in on it, mertiline.com has these cases for 24.99 right now

meh no belt clip

Anyone else having problem with the home button not working while the phone is in the case?

Platinum Series Case for HTC EVO 4G from Best Buy - $30

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Platinu...199186619&skuId=9943616&st=evo case&cp=1&lp=1
That is the case I got from Best Buy today. I compared it to the silicone one they had for $21 but I ended up with this one because it seems more durable and if you lay the phone on the screen the case lifts the screen off the surface its laying on to help protect the screen as well.
I think $32 out the door was a little pricey, but to protect my new phone it is definitely worth it.
They were sold out by the time I got there. I really wanted the one with the clip. Can't find them now. They are made by Seido from what I am hearing which they sell for $49.99 so it's a pretty good deal and solid imo.
can we get some pics? the product wasn't displayed good on there site
it's a great case. The insides are felt lined & padded. Also I had no problem slipping it in w/ the invisashield. The back of the case goes slightly past the camera lens so the phone isn't laying on it. Then there is a very small lip on the front to keep the screen from resting on a surface. A pretty solid case to use for now until more people start manufacturing for in. Hopefully serpent cases make something for this

its literally the same as the seido case that someone else posted a topic about. look at that topic and thres pictures and in the general section someone posted a video review of the seido case.
the best buy platinum case is just a re-branded seido case.
I had purchased it because a sales rep told me it was a part of the $30 bundle with the car charger and invisible shield. At the register it turns out that the rep gave me the wrong case and I bought it anyways. Early today I got my max coverage Invisible Shield installed and returned that case along with the Shield they had sold me.
The case is decent looking, definitely much better than most of the cases out now. I hope this phone gets the kind of variety in accessories that the iPhone does.

I think this specific case is different unless the picture Best Buy is using is incorrect. The cut outs are different. Also, Seidio themselves said in another forum that Best Buy has a Platinum Series case not made by them.
If the OP can post some pics we'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
There are two different Platinum Series case designs for the EVO @ Best Buy sold 3 different ways. The have the Seidio style horizontal split by itself, Seidio style with holster, and one styled like the Bodyglove case (vertical split). I picked up the Bodyglove style case - it's "rubberized" all the way around and felt lined inside.
:S thats expensive why dint you go to sprint? the body glove for the evo looks awesome I saw it at best buy and i dint like the back cover while the one in sprint i was and it was like 24 dollars.. and online its 19.99

bsim85 posted a tiny pic, but here are some large ones:
It's OK. I've still got the original "screen protector" on my phone because I haven't tried it at work (I'm not going to open the Invisible Shield or 16GB memory card I bought until I verify the phone works everywhere I need it to, but the case comes in a resealable package so no worries there).
The back of the case is hard and has felt lining inside. The front part of the case (it splits around the edge of the device like the Body Glove) is more rubbery. It comes apart the same was as the Body Glove, with a coin in a corner slot. The camera lens is recessed a couple of millimeters from the edge of the case. When on it's back the case rests not on the overall rubberized surface but on the smooth edges of the case around the camera opening and the bottom ports so it could still slide around in your car this way. Will I keep it long term? Probably not. Will it suffice until something better comes along? Yes.
EDIT...
I should note that the case doesn't look as blue-grey in real life as it does in the pictures.
I bought the case at Best Buy and it's great. Radioshack had Zaggs for $15 plus the 20% off accessories if you got it in the morning. I got the case at Best Buy and it's excellent. A bit pricey, but one of the better cases I've seen. Plus the silicon cases sometimes get caught up in your pocket and harder to pull out.

Is this A EVO case?
cause it seems to have more cut outs in the side pic than the EVO has buttons on the side.
yeah, i went to BB on friday and there was a sign showing that the Platinum case, the invisashield screen protector, and a rocket dog car charger were on sale all together for $45.
the case is overall is very nice, i like how the screen is recessed and how the case does not get stuck in your pocket like a silicone case does.
i think it was a good deal for the money, seeing as how i needed car charger because the hero uses a mini usb port.

I bought one from BB (with holster for $34.99 (giftcard)), and it def doesn't look like that. Mine's a much more rubbery look / feel. It's black. The cut-out's on yours seem much more prominent and I don't have one on the lower right side (why is one even there? just the phone volume on the upper part of the right side...).
Strnage
I got slider case instead of the snap case. Reason being if you drop your phone on a corner, the slider case isn't going to split open like an egg leaving the yolk (EVO) splattered on the ground.

I dont know what Seidio is trying to pull but on the inside of the fake phone cutout (on the Platinum) it clearly states Seidio, Inc, Houston Texas.
Plus, I ordered a Innocase II and compared the two side by side. They are identical. Save you cash and buy the Platinum.

As I stated previously there are (2) different case designs from Best Buy - one like the Seidio Innocase and one like the Body Glove. The one I pictured is indeed for the EVO (it came with a "fake" cardboard EVO inserted in it). The "extra" port cutout you're seeing is how you take it off the phone - you insert a coin and twist it to pop the two halves apart (JUST like the Body Glove case).

Otterbox Commuter vs Impact vs Bodyglove

I am trying to decide between one of these three cases but can't really decide which since most stores don't have them so I haven't had the chance to actually feel and see how they look on my phone. I'm not in an environment where I drop my phone a lot but I still need a little protection so I was wondering if I could get any recomendations

do not get the impact
the fit is not good
i cannot comment on the commuter because the defender is the same price and i got the defender, and i like it alot
I've owned the incipio feather and just got the commuter in the mail a few minutes ago. I didn't like how fragile the feather was, so I opted for the commuter for better protection.
As far as fit, I'm pretty happy with it, although the silicone parts that cover the ear speaker and the bottom of the phone are a little floppy if you mess with them. The back of the case is a little slicker than I would like, but the silicone parts on the side give adequate grip. The volume buttons are actually easier to use with the case on than without a case, and the port covers seem great too.
I'd give it a 8/10 because the slickness of the plastic and floppy silicone subtract a bit from an otherwise excellent case.
Get the Commuter
I just got it the other day. It really seems to protect the phone quite well and fits snugly. Adds some bulk, but probably less than the impact.
Pros:
Excellent Phone Protection
Easy to install
Doesn't add too much bulk
Cons:
Rubber attracts lint
Included screen protector isn't figerprint / smudge resistant
Does add some bulk
Definately the Commuter.
I love mine!
I bought the Body Glove a couple weeks ago after finding out I can still use my car dock with it on. (Just barely.) I wanted it because my wife has had a Body Glove on her Captivate since July of last year and it's great. The bg for the atrix is styled a little differently but is just as good. Not too much added bulk either. The phone is a lot easier to hang onto now too.

- yes the rubber does attract foreign particles. however i think we all can agree that all electronics share that feature...
but you can just rinse it off while it dries your phone is still fully protected.
-screen protector is built into the shell. no squeegee's. NO bubbles. NO glare!
-fully enclosed and port plugs ( commuter has plugs )
-360 swivel belt clip.
personally i really enjoy this clip/case for its dual face design. you can have the screen facing out to monitor calls, msgs, etc. or you can have it face inward to prevent your screen's death due to evil table corners. there are notches to keep it from falling out.
and it wont. the clip has a curve bottom as well, to keep it from involuntary vehicle exit suicide. which is believed to be caused by occupants jumping in and out of there automobiles. but this has never been confirmed due to lack of witnesses.
-spring clip can be fully expanded and it will lock in place to easily attached or removed.
-belt catch is on the bottom so it won't slip. a.k.a. gypsy clip
- camera, phones jack, ports all have a poly carb gaurd that is flush with the rubber sleeve.
i ordered this thing 2 days before i did the phone on amazon prime so i figured surely i would have it first. Nope i actually had to sit on my hand for 2 days waiting for that case before i opened my phone. but i can say that my phone has never really experienced outside air.
i own the impact too. but i have never wanted to use it this is a great accessory. its worth 30 bucks i'd pay double that.
** if you are in any environment that you fear dust, dirt, abuse, water, kids, heat, beanie babies. this is the best protection offered. and it does add security to accidental loss for wearing it on your side. I will always buy these before my mobile gear everytime.
Do yourself a favor and save the time you will be spending if you get something else, then deciding that you don't like it, returning it, ordering what you should have ordered in the first place...... get the commuter case, it rocks balls!

Since you said you probably wont drop it and just want a little protection, I would go with the BodyGlove (if the Feather is not an option). Good grip, decent protection, and little added bulk.
I happen to have one for sale too
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...fix=rugged+battery+door+for+motorola+atrix+4g
one of those on the first row. it's Motorola, and its a replacement battery door that also goes around the side edges (covers everything but the screen). NO added bulk, seems perfect
I had the Impact which was nice but flimsy didn't feel great and top and bottom unprotected. Just got the Commuter and love it! Feels great looks great much better protection for $22 delivered from Ebay and the ports are covered!

Comes with an insert for the std/media docks. From what I have seen the car dock would most likely still work fine.
I tried the Impact case for a week. It's not snug on the phone and has a tendency to slip off the bottom corners. The impact-absorbing aspect of the phone is excellent however. The thick silicone case can absorb shock quite well.
I returned it. I'm waiting on a Seidio Innocase. Was thinking about the Commuter, but I wanted something a bit thinner.
dam. i jsut bought the impact of amazon for 10 bucks. should oof bought a tpu case instead then.

Cyclops Case for vibrant from Trident. general review.

So fairly recently i purchased the Cyclops case from Trident after watching
bobofosho123 video review and figured i'd make a post about the case and raise awareness of a good case
The case overall is great. It added the bulk and safe to grasp feel to the phone, without the case I always feel like i'll crush it in my bear like grip
Ordered it in White, probably a mistake as the white took on a dirty color to it rather quickly. the white plastic on the back side feels soft and gentle. And the silicon outer ring is great for what it does. I've launched the phone outta my lap a few times getting out of my truck and everything is all stars and sparkles still (good).
Has the built in screen protector which I have not noticed to alter the touch sensitivity at all, (also great at protecting.) And just about 0 picture alteration. The protector also covers the light sensor... which i have noticed causes the phone to not recognize it's not near your face after a call is over.
-so i cut it out- and everything is swell again.
The power and volume buttons on the side work wonderfully with the silicon strip over them.
**Couple other downsides for me, might have been the molding on the silicon for my specific case, but the tabs to pull the plug out of the usb and headphone jack seemed almost non existent making it rather hard to open them up.
And the seperatly purchased holster has been out of stock forever. ((((EDIT)))) finally in stock and ordered
because of this I put the phone in my pocket and like most silicon and gel cases it collects pocket fuzzies of doom rather well.
the closeness of the bezel near the screen does make it hard to bring down the notification slide. ( but i use the swipe down gesture in ADW for that anyways.)
After having quite a few cases, the casemate you can get at the tmobile store, the gel cases, some plasticy snap ons, just a generic belt holster thing, otterboxes case. I will stick with the cyclops.
All in all worth every $$ it cost. I.M.O.
I have to say that I disagree, I originally purchased this case and I was disgusted by the quality.
In my experience the built in screen cover really took away a lot of screen sensitivity. I had to apply a lot more pressure to type any of the letters on the side of the screen, even using when using swype! So I ended up removing the built in screen protector, it was no big deal it popped out with a little pressure.
The next problem I had with this case was the headphone and micro usb port connectors, the phone already has a usb dust shield built in so why protect it? They were just too hard to remove and I use my vibrant daily to listen to music and to transport files between home and school so this was another annoyance.
I used the case for about two weeks before I could not stand the bulk and the cheap feel of this case, I swear the silicone would pop out of place every time I put it in my pocket.
After everything was said and done I went back to my body glove case and used it until it broke because I dropped my phone while riding my bike then I ordered up an otterbox and could not be happier. Best case for the vibrant in my opinion, slim, no frills and plenty of protection.
Don't buy one of these cases it is a waste of $30, trident cases are nothing but poorly designed bs.
I also have the Trident case and am.very happy with it. It provides wonderful protection for me. The only
Issue for me is that it is not pretty to look at lol I'm s girl lol. The black and grey.was the best looking out of the selection and goes quite well with the Trigger rom I love so much. I like the look of the Otterbox and may purchase one in the future. For ultimate protection I would recommend the Cyclops case. No issues with the screen protection at all.

Yeah, it's a great little case. I bought the black one, and i'm looking at getting a blue one next. Really cheap for official ones from Trusted Sellers on ebay (roughly £7 without original packaging, £10 with)
the only downside is it lets dust through the little holes, so you get a neat little dust pattern on the back side of your phone - a regular removal and wipe on your trousers helps.
I've had one on it for about 2 weeks and I like it, only drawback is I had to shave down by USB connector plastic to get it to fit while the case is still on. I ordered another from dealextreme because it was really cheap. I notice the case just touches the mic area but doesnt cover it up. I like it because it's not very bulky and the plastic 'mesh' back fits over a soft case and makes it rigid and easy to hold.
Good luck for u
Got a generic cheap mesh case from eBay, its pretty awesome but as mentioned above, gets a bit dirty after some long time, and mine is cheap enough to start breaking on corners, had a few falls tho, and that's the purpose of a case, so the phone doesn't break instead
I had this case, it was okay at the start but in the end the plastic on the top corner started breaking away. Also the one and only time I dropped my phone with this case on I got a nasty scratch just above the screen where there was no protection. I had to ditch it. I'm using a plain black tpu case now, much more protection. The advantage of the mesh case is that its so slim.
Edit : Oh yea and its a dust magnet.
Got the original mesh case, I dropped it twice since I got it. First time no damage at all, protected the phone nicely. Second time the phone popped out of the case as it hit the floor (shoulder hight, had a nice spin to it also) but both the case and the phone didn't suffer any damage. So I guess it serves it's purpose and looks nice as well.
Aesthetically nice.
Crap if you want proper protection.
I bought it merely to protect the camera and back when I put the phone down to prevent scratching. For overall phone protection it's definitely going to be lacking as the top and bottom edges of the phone aren't covered. The case clips on easily but stays on fairly tightly. The rubbery material gives better grip when holding the phone. Dust does get in over a week or so over the back of the phone, though isn't noticeable with the case on, and can easily be wiped off. I think the case looks pretty nice, all key areas are fully accessible and for the price of about £8 was worth it.
is not compatible for i9100P
I've just buy the genuine Samsung mesh vent case for my Samsung Galaxy S2 win NFC (i9100P) but it is NOT compatible. My colleague on the i9100, not NFC, perfect fit.
Some ideas?
Light, strong and keeps the thinness we all love about our S2s!
Dropped mine a couple of times on to wooden floors and no damage yet
Protects the camera lens too when lying on a flat surface
The dust comments are true but only noticeable when u take the cover off so no big deal and it fits so snugly it kinda looks part of the phone!
To answer original question tho, no only stands in portrait
I got an official Samsung one given with mine. Good at protecting from scuffs when it's on a table or desk but wouldn't like to trust it with protecting my phone from a fall.
That's why it's sat unused in a cupboard at work! If anyone wants it just message me and I'll stick in the post.

I'll take the case if it's on offer, let me know your thoughts on shipping to Australia Figure you sent all your convicts here, so a case shouldn't be a problem

Anyone running a case?

Hi All,
I am a S7 Active owner since launch day and really love the phone. Just curious if anyone is running a case or bumper-style case on the phone? I know the rubberized coating on the perimeter of the phone does a decent job, but if I could find something slim and good looking I may consider it just to protect from scuffing the perimeter and screen/back.
Chris
Cimo case here. love it. was getting rid of old phone stuff and came across some apple stickers; had to do it lol. nice slim tight fit, love it. also got glass screen protector which i highly suggest as the screen is polycarbonate plastic on top and WILL scratch easily.

Got a otterbox for it. The holder kinda sucks which can let the phone fall out in extreme situations and turns the phone into a bulky cumbersome brick but a indestructible cumbersome brick.
I am a case addict and have a case for every scenario:
Otterbox Defender for extreme scenarios.
BodyGuardz case for medium/heavy duty protection.
Body Glove for kickstand use.
SUPCASE UNICORN BEETLE for grip and fitted case (best all around). Pics below.
S5 Seidio holster for naked use.
Holster used with SUPCASE is the Note 4 Seidio holster.

Thanks for sharing folks, keep 'em coming if you run a case.
Nope, going nude

Personally I've been running the Poetic Affinity Case. Its slim and adds just a smidge of protection. I take it off from time to time just to show people that my phone is not an S7 with a crazy case on, though, haha.

Seems I was wrong about the otter box belt case slipping out, if you put it in the exact way it wants you too it stays in no problem though it's not the most convenient position for sure

This.
I will be doing liquid screen protection, since I did my homework and read the countless reports of the overlay being prone to scratches. Beyond that, I might do a skin for the back/sides, but the phone seems bulky enough without adding a case.
I have a Poetic Affinity but rarely use it, I love way the phone feels without a case.

Ordered one for mine a few days ago off Amazon. It was made by zizo, I'll link it when I get home. Definately feels like a durable phone but being an avid outdoorsman in Alaska... I'd rather throw an extra layer on it than not.

What do you guys think of the bolt cases?
I don't see myself using a case very often but it might be good for hiking/ hunting.

You should have put the apple sarcastically "up side down" at least!

I am also using the SUPCASE UNICORN BEETLE and love it! Best all around case, so much so that I don't even look around any more! Easy to hold, great protection - front, back and edges, and slips in and out of my pockets without a lot of hassle!
I just went simple - TGSP and a clear TPU cover - "Fosmon DURA-T Slim TPU Back Cover Case". Paid less than $10 off amazon for both. The phone is sufficiently rugged on its own for my purposes, it was more about keeping it from looking like it went through a war zone.
What I particularly like about TPU covers is that they slide in and out of my pocket easily. nothing to grab my clothes with.
2 co-workers got the S7 active after I did - one had no intention of using a screen protector nor a case, but he's gotten some "microscratches" and is reconsidering. The other has gotten a couple very light scratches while waiting for the TGSP to come in, again from amazon.
Just next day'd " Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Case, Zizo [Bolt Series] " off Amazon (it looked the most rugged and thats what i was looking for) comes in tonight and I will try to write an update if I get a chance.
Got the case in, it's definitely rugged.
Audio jack is right next to the hanger clip which may make it difficult to insert head phones, but I only use blue tooth so that doesn't affect me.
The screen sealed on nice and over all the case fit real snug. I like it as of right now but will try to update once it goes through it's first real impact.... hopefully it does it's job.

Weird, all my buttons are easy to push... Maybe there is some accuracy issues in production? Because all these buttons are easier to push then the Defender series I had on my other phones.
Maybe the rubber button over the power button just needs to be broken in a little. Try taking the case off and pressing the button in and out a few times to make sure it is pressing easily and then placing it back on.
So far I really like this case... its holding up well for me and its really easy to grip... personally I thought I wouldn't like the lanyard that came with it... but now I keep it on at all times and it keeps me from misplacing my phone so often.
