In the various HTC ads for the G2 the phone has a purple/magenta background. (The ads have been on XDA also)
Does anyone have any idea what or where this background image might be? It certainly isn't on the phone itself.
Thanks!

could anyone give me all sprints and htcs apps that people normally remove?
SprintZone
Sprint Nascar
Sprint Football Live
Sprint TV
I think those are all the Sprint ones, but HTC has a lot of stuff on there and I don't know what is safe to remove and what isn't. I know Peep, Flickr and Twitter (I removed both b/c I use neither), and some wallpapers are OK to remove, as well as the HTC stocks/news stuff. I kept the HTC weather stuff because I like widget the phone came with with the clock/weather right on the main home screen
Edit: Sprint Navigation.....I forgot to mention that one.
I'm running Fresh and have all the removed .apk's.Pm me an email address and I'll shoot'em to you when I get out of work.

On basically all android phones i have seen (that are not from htc) there is a kind of "zooming" animation when you open an app and a kind of "unzooming" one when an app closes
How can we get this on the desire?
Thanks in advance
Kris
What a coincidence that I just posted a similar thread a few hours ago
Sorry I'm a new registered user and I'm not allowed to post the URL of my post here.
You can find it in next page hopefully, but I haven't got any replies yet
If you are using the shipped ROM, I think it is just because HTC Sense UI disabled it. I feel confused because even if I flashed my phone with OpenDesire ROM, the zooming out animation is still missing while the opening zooming in animation is OK now. So I also want to know if there is way to tweak. However, I guess you will need the root access even if there is way to tweak
Suggest you guys check out LauncherPro. That supports fly-in and fly-out effects when entering and exiting applications.
Well, I know that 3rd party launcher apps can do this, but this animation should be built-in because I can see it in the SDK emulator, and also in Nexus One, so I would more like to figure out why I cannot see it in OpenDesire, and if other users can see it normally.

exactly ... also i don't like LauncherPro

In my thread someone suggested to try Spare Parts, I installed it but I found I can only adjust the animation speed, but no switch to turn on / off a particular animation...
Pretty sure HTC turned off this pointless 'feature' in Sense...
so is there any way to turn it back on?

Issue #1. Sometimes when I try to set a wallpaper it puts on the default blue wallpaper with white lines. The only way the wallpaper I selected shows up is if I reboot. ( I think this might be an adw ex problem )
Issue #2. When watching videos in youtube or on different sites the video will freeze up but the audio will continue even if I exit the website or youtube app. I usually have to reboot or just wait the duration of the video for the audio to stop.
Issue #3. When I open my gallery the pictures don't always appear and the videos in my gallery never work. I just get a black screen but the audio will play.
Does anyone have these same issues or know a way to fix them ? My phone is stock. Thanks in advance.

I have that problem to sometimes when I'm on youtube

1. try a different launcher and see if it still happens. If it does, it's an issue with your ROM/phone. If it doesn't, it's an issue with ADW Ex (and I'd then recommend that you try another one, like LauncherPro or something)
2. There is a known issue with the latest version of YouTube app - to avoid this, either downgrade to an earlier version, or make sure you rotate back to portrait mode before the video is finished playing. If the video ends (or you try to pause/stop) in landscape mode, your phone will lock up.
3. Are these videos that you recorded with the device itself, or ones that you put on there from your computer?
You mentioned that you're stock - are you rooted? Have you flashed anything (new kernel, etc?)
When I said I was stock I meant that I am unrooted. I apologize. The videos in my gallery are ones that I have recorded myself . Thank you for answering my other problems. Launcher Pro does not bug out my wallpaper.

I would do a master reset and if it is still happening after that then you have a defective G2 and should do a warranty exchange

Just an update , I am having the same issue with the wallpaper on launcher pro plus. Perhaps it is the phone itself and not any of the home replacements ?

Are you trying to use the same wallpaper, or have you tried a few different images? Might be soemthing funky with the file itself?
It happens to any wallpaper I select from the default wallpapers. It really isn't a big deal and I guess I can deal with it. It is just annoying that I have to reboot if I want a different wallpaper lol.

Yeah I was wondering about this crap. Any specific version that you recommend, and where to get the APK?
Also about the wallpaper problem; I've had this problem in the past and it was an issue with the ROM, but clearly you don't have that since you aren't even rooted. Like someone else suggested, if you can do a factory reset, as painful as that is, it might fix the issue. Who knows, maybe something in the system became corrupted?
Are there any alternate spash screens out there? Or is it generally discouraged (not safe) on the Nexus? I was thinking of changing mine. I changed the one I had on my Droid Incredible and always loved that little personal touch. I was thinking of using this one but I wasn't sure about it being horizontal. I know several of the boot animations are horizontal though, so maybe it doesn't matter.
If you're talking about the bootanimation you can and its quite simple....just move bootanimation.zip to system/app using Root Explorer(or any file browser).

Nope. I'm talking about the very boring "Google" black screen that comes up just before the boot animation.
There was a lot of talk about changing the splash screen on these forums as well as on rootzwiki. No one seemed to have a clue of how to do it and it seems like everyone lost interest rather quick. lol. So as of right now it appears to be UN-changeable. I hope someone eventually figures it out though. I've tried digging through framework res files to find the images because I heard that's where they might be and I had no luck.
Well poop....
Kind of an old thread, but I figured I'd reply. I'm unsure exactly where it is located on the gnex, but it wouldn't be in the framework. the splash image loads before the phone boots. This would lead me to believe that it's stored on a partition (probably hidden, in or about the area of the bootloader or radios). There's a pay app on the market made for galaxy nexus devices (seems to be most versions) called Logo Me. If I fail to dig up the relevant information, I'll end up buying the apk, but it is indeed possible. I'm not beyond buying the app, I just haven't given up trying to figure out how to do it by hand, since I used to do it all the time on HTC phones.

Im pretty sure I saw a thread on how to do it earlier today. Either here or in development, and it was a new thread.

Thats a really good way to hard brick your phone. Not worth the risk. Probably one of the few ways you actually could brick this phone.
There's an app called logo me in the play store. There's also a thread buried here in the themes and apps section about it. The app allows you to change the Google logo and the little locked/unlocked lock under it with just a push of a button. Its a paid app though, worth it depending how bad you want to change those images.

Hello, there seems to be a stutter issue with the animation when opening and closing the app drawer. The app drawer should smoothly fade away or come up but it doesn't. There is like a small stutter that happens from time to time. It doesn't happen all the time but I was wondering if any of you have experienced this with your htc one m8?
There are NO lags and this doesn't happen in any other apps. Other than the stutter issue, the device is perfect. So are my standards for this phone way too high or should i be concerned?
If this helps, I am running Android 4.4.4 on Dalvik runtime. Let me know if you would like any other details.
Thanks.
Yeah it happens sometimes
