So, potentially this could be the update to bring Sense in-line with the HD interface? (Just hypothesising, I have no evidence!)
I haven't got this update showing on my phone either. (Yet! ;-) )
EDIT: Just noticed that that info is only on the South-East Asia version of HTC.com, so it could be a local firmware variation (I hope not!).

No new Sense, just stock FroYo update
What software version are you on now?

hi there
whats the differences?if any
im on 2.09.405.8 CL218634 release-keys
You're unbranded so you can't use that anyway. There'd be no differences, though - it's just released later than your one (although there is now 2.10.405.2 and 2.29.405.2)
Did you debrand your Desire or has it always been on that version?
always been like that
i updated to froyo using the update.zip method a few months ago
okay so theres nothing new in this update
Get this one then as well...
http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Bravo_HTC_EU_2.10.405.2-2.09.405.8_releaseol2djq7rqarka2ka.zip
It's not that there's nothing new per se, it's just not relevent to your unit - you can only update to x.xx.405.x
I wish there were proper changelogs so we can see a reason to upgrade or not sometimes
Well, 2.29.405.2 has the RIL update to work with the radio I'm guessing. It's a very solid ROM and I'm happy with it at present

Hi there, with the Desire about to launch on Telus in Canada, two questions:
1) If you've already gotten the 2.2 update - does the UnrEVOked root method still work?
2) Has the "exploid" root method been applied to the Desire as well (as it has with Nexus One, Droid X, and many many other phones)? If so is it working on the 2.2 update?
No, nothing works yet.
Ok. And how about if the Telus Desire comes with a rootable 2.1... is there a way to upgrade to a pre-rooted Desire 2.2 that is otherwise identical to HTC's version of 2.2?

if your desire comes with a hboot of 0.75 or 0.80 you can root, if it comes with froyo and the new hboot 0.92 it cant be rooted yet obviously if you can root it, you will have no trouble upgrading to one of the modded official froyo roms that are pre rooted and have the new hboot removed
hi guys
since i updated my desire i cannot access root does any one have solution
for this problam.thxx
Good to know!
Is there any sense as to whether a Desire ROM from one region will work on a phone from another that comes with different 3G frequencies? I know this causes problems with the Milestone, but it isn't an issue with the Nexus One.
A HowardForums member reports that the Telus Desire comes with:
kernel:
2.6.29-e5576724
Build Number:
1.29.661.1
2.1Update1
No root reports yet, but would any problems be anticipated based on this info?
Hi,

htc has stop the OTA for 2.2.1 with build 1.72 because of several issue.
so your desire HD will stuck on that build, until there is a release version of it.
But there are also some other user get the new build 1.83 update recently, but only a few (maybe from selected region only).
but, it you really want the 2.2.1 (or gingerbread 2.3) , you can flash custom rom available here (at Development thread) e.g: Android Revolution HD, LeeDroid or CM7, better than stock rom.
Could People Post up what version of Android they are running as well as Baseband Version? I have a defy from November that I just flashed the posted full 6.36.0 SBF onto to restore it, and the baseband after flashing says EPU93STU_U_03.04.02. My Defy that just got replaced under warranty and that I updated to 2.2 before the first boot gives me a Baseband of EPU93_U_00.58.00 . To me that means the newer phone has the older baseband. Anyone else care to chime in on this?
Disregard...I just got the sanctioned version from Moto. It matches up exactly now.
I have the same baseband: EPU93_U_00.58.00

Moto is doing an official Test release of 2.2 for Tmobile right now. One of my phones is in it. That phone now matches my other one with the original leaked 2.2. Which tells me the original leak is the final version.
So baseband: EPU93_U_00.58.00 is correct?
Weird...

If you want the easy and safest way to root, use v.1.34 instead of 1.72. Dont receive OTA if you want to root your device.
ahh ok great as my device seems to be stuck on 1.34 lol

If you see my sig below, I have tested the newer stock ROM (1.84).
I didn't feel or see any different from 1.34
That was the reason why I decided to downgrade and root it
The Virtuous custom ROM is version 1.85 and pre-rooted. Its mostly stock with a few extra features added and some optimizations. You should check it out, if you want a more up date, but close to stock ROM.

Hi.
As much as I really like the xda forums, I am having real trouble searching for my answer. Maybe I am thinking illogically!
I am in U.K. on Vodafone.
My CID is VODAP001
Android version 4.0.4
HTC Sense version 4.1
I have installed Android Revolution HD 9.4.1
If relevant, my HTC SDK API level is 4.23
In a nutshell, I am hoping to install JB update - either the official Vodafone one, or possibly Revolution (if I can figure out if that is fully functional for my device).
I hoped that Vodafone would have released the OTA update before now. But I don't know if my install of Revo is stopping my device from automatically looking for updates.
I thought I would be able to go to settings/about/software and search for updates, but that option doesn't seem to be available (is Revolution switching this feature off?)
So:
Is it worth me trying to roll back to stock, and manually check for updates periodically?
(If so, please could someone point me to a recent no brainer post on how to do this?)
Or:
Does the latest JB release of Revolution work with my model/network?
(If so, do I need to roll back to stock and start from scratch, or can I "update" my current version.
Whilst I am not totally noob to all this, I do find it slightly daunting, and I can't always tell which threads are the most relevant or up to date, so please excuse me if my questions are obvious to you. I just find that after a while on XDA I have loads of tabs and it all gets a bit backwardy and forwardy!
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Your CID has not yet received the official HTC jellybean update. This means that you will NOT be able to get an update from vodafone and also you wont be able to flash Android revollution HD 17.0 (Jellybean).
You will have to wait for HTC to roll out the official JB update for your device.
And none of the custom ROMS (including ARHD 17.0) support OTA update feature. You can update your device OTA ONLY and ONLY if you are on stock ROM, stock recovery and stock kernel.

There are custom ROMs that support OTA, but ARHD is not one.
