Contacts -> All... They aren't al there

Hello,
When I go to my contacts and select the tab "All", well, my contacts aren't all there! I can only see them all browsing by group.
Have you got the same issue?
Are you using Google contacts? I sometimes experience this when a new contact has not been added to the "My Contacts" group. I don't know why, but you may want to check to see if that is the cause.
I'm using Google contacts indeed.
My Wife for example appears in Family and in Starred contacts but not in "All".
Assuming it's the same problem I faced, if you go to the Google Contacts website (Google's url followed by /contacts) you should be able to see your contacts in "All contacts", and then add them to "My contacts". Once your phone syncs they should appear in your phone's contact list.
That was it! Thank You

contacts save and sync but dont appear in people

Hi all,
I am running a completely stock HTC Desire and I have a really strange annoying problem.
The problem is if I add a new contact, it adds the person, as when I am on "Phone" and tap the numbers to spell their name they appear.
Also if I go into google mail and contacts, I can see the contact.
What I cant see is the contact in the "People" application.
This is really frustrating and I was wondering if anyone had any idea how I can fix this? Just to note, I am adding contacts setting them to my google group exactly the same as I have always done. Im not sure when this started to happen.
Thanks for your time.
When adding the contact via phone, are you ensuring the contact type at the top is a Google one?
When adding the contact via Gmail, are you ensuring the contact is added to teh 'My Contacts' group?
Try this...
Go into your Contacts.
Hit your Menu key and select Display Options.
Select your GMAIL account.
Make sure there are checkmarks in each of the lines, especially "All Other Contacts.
Click Done.

[Q] Desire Z - The linked contacts don't show up when trying to add to groups

I think the title says it all.
I have all my Outlook contacts synced with the phone (so they are phone contacts). Some of the phone contacts are also linked with Facebook for HTC Sense, some with Peep, and some with both. I only chose to show the Phone contacts in the People app, so the contacts from Peep or Facebook that are not also in Phone/Outlook won't show up. This is ok and I have all the contacts I need in People/All Contacts.
The trouble starts when I want to add contacts to groups. I can only choose from contacts that are not linked with Facebook/Peep. Those "Phone" contacts that have Facebook accounts won't show up. Of course, I can manually go to each contact, edit them and add them to groups. But it'll take a long time and I'm too lazy to do that.
Any idea why they don't show up when I try to add them from groups? Is it a bug?
This has been fixed in the last system update.

Click to collapse
I do this all the time because my Facebook never syncs with my contacts correctly. Press the contact you would like to link with a Facebook account. Then press Menu and Edit Contact. When you enter the Edit Contact screen, press Menu again, then tap Join. As long as you have Facebook sync activated, it should show a list of your Facebook friends with the same/similar name(s). If it does not show that Facebook friend, either that person does not have the same name as you set in your Contacts, or there is something wrong with Facebook and your phone. Hope this helps!
Sorry, I mixed up one of the instructions! Those instruction are based on stock Android. On Touchwiz it is the same thing, but instead of pressing menu to go from the View Contact screen to the Edit Contact screen, you press Join after pressing menu from the View Contact screen.
So basically Contacts>Select the contact you would like to merge with a Facebook friend>Menu>Join>Select the Facebook friend you would like to merge with your contact. Done!
