HTC recommended solution!
1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or
more
2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge
for 1 hour
3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF
and charge for another hour. Your battery life should almost
double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents
have seen a major difference as well
I was very reluctant but after trying it I must admit it does work!
Good Luck!

In my opinion the battery recalibration doesnt work..
I mean, after that, the battery show 100% for a very long period (this good), and goes to 90% jsut after a long period (this good again).
But after that, it starting going down faster than the normal behaviour OR sometimes the phone power off its self when the battery is still more than 10% instead to power off when the battery is at 5 % as usual.
That what i've noticed.
That is calibarting your battery need to do when you get the phone initially. you cant do that every time. Honestly if you do that your battery will be Sc***ed

Ohhh *****y!
Not being *****y, the OP posted something that's already on here so of course they're going to get flamed...my response was to the guy calling me a prick (and it would seem they think there's a swear filter on here, that or they're just so cool they use numbers instead of letters)
Some nerds spend too much time on forums
Not a nerd mate, just have an interest - work gets boring time to time and when I'm not DJing I need something to take my mind off things...if you're going to try and talk a good game you'd best be able to back it up
As a quick note, this method doesn't work per se but it gives the impression of longer battery life - it stays at a high % for longer but then drops off quite quickly
... after all that....
right then people. lets be constructive and help a chappy out. I've recently had absolutely sucky battery life. It was OK with LeeDroid 2.2e, latest radio, but then I upgraded to 2.2f and everything went to pot. Seriously, just with moderate use I was getting 12 hours at best. Overnight charge, unplug at 7am, by mid afternoon it was switching off again. This is not how it used to be.
So I switched to Oxygen 0.1.3 Beta - still sucked
Now on CyanogenMod - which I love, but battery life still sucks. Trying various radios, but IT ALL STILL SUCKS!!!
I've now switched over to 2G only, turned off auto sync and mobile internet, except when I want them, just to get through the day.
Help!
I have searched and there are generic answers, all of which I have done. I have recalibrated (don't start that flame war again please) and found negligable benefit.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated (short of buy a bigger battery).
Have you tried a stock ROM at all? It could very well be something in the custom ROM(s) you're using. At least then you'd know if it's the handset itself

Hmmm... interesting thought. I may well get a full on Orange UK RUU on the phone and see what happens. I'll report back if and when I get round to it and test it out properly.
There's your issue - there isn't an Orange RUU
You could try a stock WWE one, though (with a gold card)

I'll do this method I think:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796975&highlight=orange+unroot
That should work, for the sake of trying an RUU I'd just go with a stock one but thats your call

I got my Orbit today and charged it for around 4 hours. Since then it has been unplugged for at least 3 hours, during which time the battery meter has not decreased from 100%. All ROMs and whatnot are as they are out of the box. I have read it using SPB PocketPlus battery meter and the one in settings.
What can I do about this? Thanks.
have you been using the unit? I can charge mine up, leave it overnight (when it doesn't get used) and in the morning it's still 100 or 99%....
ther's nothing wrong with it unless you've been vigorously using it and the battery hasn't gone down.
This is because of the type of battery that is used
Normal battery's will decrease in voltage over time:
(EXAMPLE NO REAL VALUES)
Decreasing like from
5,5 to 4,5 over the 100% battery load, so you know if your at 5Volts you have about 50% left (there is a bit more calculation requiered, but you get the idea)
The battery used in new gen phones keep a working voltage of 5,5 V until it reaces about 20% load left, in the other 80% it will decrease verry little and so it is verry hard to detect the battery load.
So I should just leave it and see if it ever decreases then?
I'm just afraid because this happened with my Universal.
1. what happened to you Universal??
2. just let it wait for a day and see what happens. else contact HTC
My Universal was crashing when I charged it so I got a new battery. Since the beginning that battery showed 100% charge all the time. I then put it on to charge overnight and it showed the correct battery level.
However, my Orbit was on charge overnight and the battery level still shows 100% - after charging, and now - several hours later after a couple of calls.
What happens if you remove the battery, howmuch batt level does it show

I think you'd better contact HTC...
After removing and replacing the battery it still shows 100%.
Also what do you mean by contacting HTC? I've looked on the support section of their site but they give no contact details there. Only their European HQ.
So? you dont want to be helped by a european??
Just try mailing them, i reported some issues by mail, they are quick with the reply's so just give it a go.
I meant that normally a company headquarters does not concern themselves with support. Also there is no email address given - were you suggesting snailmail?
Looky here
Customer Services
Technical Support by email
should do the trick
Ahh, good stuff. I will try that too.
I did contact the HQ and they gave me a number for a technical support line, the person there suggested a hard reset. I'm going to try this email thing first because I'd like to avoid a hard reset if possible.
I have also had an idea. This didn't seem important to me at first because I did the same with my previous HTC devices (Alpine and Universal) but when I got the phone I plugged it in to charge and started the setup of WM5. Is it possible that when you're doing the WM5 setup it takes a reading of the battery, for calibration purposes, and it assumed it was at 100% when it was really quite low? So now it thinks that say 20% is full, so it shows 100%? Just a thought.
sounds odd, because then you could never use a new battery, coz it will never know how much it's loaded.
I've also ordered a new battery from eBay, because it was only £10 and it came with a standalone charger. I figured I might as well try it and if it doesn't solve this problem at least I've got a spare battery.
It's showing 99% now. Things are looking up. I don't think I did anything in particular. I'll see how it goes on.
I was always unsatisfied with my battery life, but now it's gone too far!
1. No matter how long I charge it, at the very second I unplug it it goes down to 99%.
2. It doesn't even go down correctly, one moment it's 65% and the other it's 58%. Always.
3. It drains soooooo fast even though I do nothing with it!!!!
Here are some pictures
1. This is 17 minutes after unplugging it, all I did was to put music on [earphones] and check if my girlfriend was online on Whatsapp.

2. That's after a minute and a half, 2% less, doing nothing but listening to music with my screen off!
3. One minute later..
4. Sixteen minutes later, phone is idle and untouched [not even music, I started my shift]
5. Again, idle.
It lasts 3 hours tops!!!! What the hell do I do.

Ok might be but to the level where the phone doesn't last 3 hours? That's not cool. It should be lasting more even with heavy using.

yeah you're right, it should last more anyway! maybe it's the rom.. what rom are you using? or maybe the battery failed. it happened to me with another phone, basically i was in the seaside with about 38°C the phone was boiling hot, the battery was fully charged but in about 20 mins it was at 5% without even using it then it died. since then that battery never worked again and i had to buy a new one. do you remember if you had a similar situation or if your phone overheated for any other reason (maybe while charging or near a heat source)?

Hey all,

}
This started happening out of nowhere, a couple months back. My phone will lose battery at an incredibly fast rate, then swoop back up (without being plugged in), then fall, etc etc until it hits 0%. I can then turn it back on and it says 50% or what have you, and the same process repeats. These are the things I've tried:
1. Bought a new ZeroLemon battery because I thought my battery might be broken. All this served to do was increase the number of swoops. The battery still barely lasts half a day.
2. Cleaned the contacts of the battery and on the phone.
3. Installed all kinds of battery helpers and battery recalibration apps. Here's a screenshot of an app telling me, after I charged the phone to 100% (with a separate battery charger so I know it was at 100%).
It appears the phone is just reading the battery incorrectly. Not only does it report 60% but it also reports 3800 mV, which a fully charged battery should be around 4200 or 4300 correct?
4. Now here's the weird one: I blew on the contacts. This made things work better for a week or two. The new battery lasted about 3 days, which I thought was pretty good. Now it's back to where it was again.
It seems like I've tried just about everything, and it's a problem with the phone. Only problem is, as you can see, I have CM installed and the phone is over a year old, so any kind of warranty is long bye bye. Any suggestions my fellow S3 owners? I've tried googling this problem everywhere and it seems I'm the only one with it.
Thanks so much

I also forgot to mention that I have tried formatting everything and installing a different ROM etc etc. Is there any option short of buying a new phone?
Hi, I'm new to posting thread. So, I had battery drain problem and I was one of those people who is surfing through the internet trying to find solutions for battery drain problem on Note 4. Yesterday, I took out the cases and battery to clean out the dust. Later, when I put back the battery and turned on my phone, that's when the magic happened. My battery problem was fixed and I was surprised and now when my screen is off it takes about 1-2hrs or MORE to decrease %'s. When I use my phone constantly, it takes 5-9 mins for each % to decrease (WHICH never happened for me.) I charged my phone last night @ 11 PM (04/05/2015) and I still have 68% through moderate use. I still have 1 DAY and 22 hrs left on my battery according to my phone. (Screen time on: 1h 14m 16s). I'm very happy with my phone right now.
Here is my question: Can anyone give me explanation to this? How can just taking out the battery and put it back in can make huge difference?
NOTE: I'm not complaining; in fact, I'm really happy. I'm just curious and a lot of you smart people probably has the answer to my question.
Thank you for reading!

When you post to any forum, it's courteous to use an informative subject line. That way, others can tell at a glance whether your topic is one they're interested in learning about or sharing their knowledge of. No lol. I literally read it and thought about it, and that picture was what I did. Lol
It's weird to me that pulling the battery would magically improve the battery life. To me, it's normally placebo effect, but if it fixed things, then it's just... odd to me.
Simplest answer; Because pulling the battery can clear some info being retained in memory somewhere. Or it may not have been discharging fast, but the %indicator was not functioning correctly and pulling the battery reset it. Pulling the battery is not exactly the same as a reset.

It's really odd to me as well and that's why I created this thread, which is for explanation. I checked my phone this morning and it said, I had 13 days left according to my phone (Which is freaking crazy and never happened to me in my life.)

Don't be panic. I Suffered with this issue for few days. Now only option left to you is allow the phone to switch off on its own. It takes lots of time depending on how much battery is left. For example if the phone was at 60% battery when this error appeared it might take more than 8 hours or so. Once the screen turns off. Wait 2 to 3 mins and connect the phone to charger. Don't try to turn on! Hopefully after 3 mins it will boot up on its own. If the error mode appears again then quickly unplug charger. Even with this 4 mins charge it takes about 10 to 20 mins for the phone to turn off. Repeat until phone boots.
I warned you not to attempt oem lock in your other thread. But you didn't listen me. Experience helps.

Hi Tooty..
Ok... Let me start out by saying I feel your pain.
You have Multiple Threads for the same issue.. and you need help.. We all get that.
Letschky tried to show you the way in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/unbrick-restore-stockrom-dc-phoenix-t3733347
You stated somewhere that, you did not have a credit / debit card that you could use to to purchase this tool to fix your phone.
You never stated that you did not have the money... just that, you did not have the card..
Can you not find someone where you live.... that does have a credit / debit card that would work to get you the DC Phoenix package to fix your phone and just give them the currency so they can order this package for you ?
It seems to be the only way to fix your phone quick and easy.. and get it back to stock... since that's what it seems you want to do.
Good Luck.
