Vanilla lockscreen on evo, 2.2 - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been thread searching but haven't quite found the definite answer unless I've just over looked it.
I'm little bored with HTC lockscreen and want to install the vanilla lockscreen. Is this something that can only be achieved by installing a custom rom, or can I keep stock rom? Not really wanting to stray to new Rom at the moment if possible.
Could someone please point me in the right direction to achieve this task?? Any help is appreciated, thx.

Forgot to mention I'm rooted with nand unlocked.

All you have to do is use titanium or root explorer to delete htclockscreen.apk and then reboot the phone. Make sure to install the stock vanilla clock apk because the vanilla lockscreen can't turn off the htc sense alarm clock.

if you don't have any alarms (perfer a clock like me) and don't mind not seeing a preview of your notifications, just delete HtcLockScreen.apk (make sure h, l, and s are caps) in system app and reboot BEFORE LOCKING PHONE!!! or use adb codes.
adb remount
adb shell
su
cd /system/app/
rm HtcLockScreen.apk
cd
reboot
it is a pretty simple procedure. hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, going to give it a go after I dl the vanilla clock.

Installed a deskclock.apk I found on a forum link here but this is what it looks like when opened. Tested an alarm and was able to dismiss it so that worked fine. I disabled alarms from stock clock app.
Is there another vanilla clock that works right on 2.2?

Lockscreen itself looks pretty nice however. Very pleased to get rid of sense one. Appreciate it.

Ok so I found the deskclockgoogle.apk and installed that one. Which fixed date text under time..
However the other apk I had installed with the messed up text would open the clock app when I would tap typoclock on homescreen. This apk does not have same result though. Any ideas?

Anyone know where I can get the stock Analog clock? Well I think it is the stock one, it is this one:

No one? C'mon, SOMEONE has to know
Get a Stock type donut Rom like TheOfficial by enomther and Grab the DeskClock.apk (or AlarmClock.apk ?? cant remember which is which) from the data/app folder in the Zip and Adb push it to the /System/app on your device.
after doing this, when you add a widget to the Homescreen you will have 2 Clocks in the list - one with the old icon and one with the new one.
I did it to get the Eclair Clock on TheOfficial (got the clock from the CyanogenMod Rom)
brettf, I am running the SuperCSDiv4 ROM on my G1 and I can push the Clock_1.6.apk to my /system/app but it doesn't/won't replace the clock on the ROM because its apparently essential to the system. I can't uninstall the alarmclock.apk that comes with the ROM. Is there a way to either reflash the ROM with the alarmclock.apk replaced with Clock_1.6.apk in the ROM file, or can I replace it without reflashing the ROM?
Once you have pushed Clock_1.6.apk to the system/app folder, go to the desktop and add a widget, see if there are 2 clocks in the list. If not I dont have any knowledge regarding ROM cooking... Sorry
Okay thanks. Yeah no widget. It seems like it's something that is part of the ROM core
What do you wish to do with the clock, replace it?
I'll whip up a Metamorph for it real quick. While I'm doing that, go to Market and install Metamorph so you'll have it ready. Brb
--edit: Here it is.
I didn't test it yet, so if you have issues please let me know. If you don't know what to do, first install Metamorph from Market, put this zip into /sdcard/AndroidThemes folder, and then go into Metamorph (tick the "Remember" checkbox and click Allow when prompted). Then select "Pick Theme" and select it. Click on "Apply All" and you're good to go. Remember to remove any previous clock widgets on your Home screen.
I take no ownership or responsibility for this. [/disclaimer]
Well, I wanted the Eclair clock to run on HTCClay's CSDIv4Remix because it was there but the alarms don't vibrate/make sound. He may have fixed this already

So do I go ahead and put together a Metamorph for the Eclair clock then? Or is it fixed?

Just cd to your download destination and adb push it to /system/framework/
ex. "adb remount"
"adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk"
"adb reboot"
May work on other devices with Cm6-Rc1, I just don't know. Works on my G1.
first to clear all misunderstandings: this is a black bar mod like on the pictures? right?
well, just pushed it, but nothing changed on my sapphire
Is there any chance of getting this as a MetaMorph?
Yes it is a black bar theme. I'm just figuring out how to theme. I don't know how to set up a metamorph. Did you reboot after the push figgerich?
The image is messed up. Notice the white-fading to black at the bottom of the bars image?
I'd fix that before telling people the flash that, it looks ridiculous lol.
Not to mention, there are some other black-bar mods by Dr. Cloverdale that are metamorphs, that don't have to be flashed. You can just use MetaMorph
i dont like it that much, not my style

Why wouldn't you do a NANDroid backup before flashing it?
The fade to black is intended.

Multifunctional lock in the lockscreen

Hi guys, I didn't find a better title for the thread (i'm italian, so sorry in advance for my bad english)
I was (desperately) looking for something like this: (an image explicates it better)

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
For example I move the lock down to access the music, left to access Internet, right to unlock, exc. Is there any app or mod which allows me to do it on the nexus 4? I don't like stock lockscreen at all
Thanks in advance
If you have a custom ROM, it's probably in the settings->security->lock screen->slider targets
Not sure if there's an app for it.
Cyanogen mod, aokp..Pac..and other roms have it if you have root accses on your phone maybe you could extract only lockscreen app.. From any of those roms and replace in sistem app folder in root manager..or download widget locker or similar app from playstore

You cant just assume any rom will have this feature. PA doesnt have lockring targets.
I managed to do it using Widget locker, it's not as useful as i thought ehehe thanks anyway everyone!
