Just cd to your download destination and adb push it to /system/framework/
ex. "adb remount"
"adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk"
"adb reboot"
May work on other devices with Cm6-Rc1, I just don't know. Works on my G1.

first to clear all misunderstandings: this is a black bar mod like on the pictures? right?
well, just pushed it, but nothing changed on my sapphire

Is there any chance of getting this as a MetaMorph?

Yes it is a black bar theme. I'm just figuring out how to theme. I don't know how to set up a metamorph. Did you reboot after the push figgerich?

The image is messed up. Notice the white-fading to black at the bottom of the bars image?
I'd fix that before telling people the flash that, it looks ridiculous lol.
Not to mention, there are some other black-bar mods by Dr. Cloverdale that are metamorphs, that don't have to be flashed. You can just use MetaMorph

i dont like it that much, not my style

keeps crashing my phone.. have to wipe and reinstall.. ugh i dont know why i attempted to install this again after redoing everything

Why wouldn't you do a NANDroid backup before flashing it?

The fade to black is intended.

Really can't figure out the metatmorph theme file. Does anyone know what a one for just a framework-res.apk should look like?

If you hate the company Apple, maybe you will like the Android guy ****tin out their logo? This boot animation was from an idea that started in Ben Buchacher's SuperD IRC channel. It's made for MDPI devices, but it might look fine on any device. You can download just the bootanimation.zip and install via adb:
Code:
adb push /folder/bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Or use this to keep it on the data partition:
Code:
adb push /folder/bootanimation.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip
Or for the even lazier use this flashable zip using a custom recovery (ClockworkMod or Amon_RA's):
DOWNLOAD FLASHABLE VERSION
Enjoy the new boot screen!

Actually, come to think of it, i was thinking what might look cool would be have a Giant Apple sitting there and like thousands of little androids devour it, like you see in the cartoons with ants devouring food. I have no idea how you would make it but, it was an idea.
i tried flashing via amon recovery and installation failed due to unsigned package =[
edit; signed the package via droid explorer. nvm. but the anim would be even funnier if the droid gave a belch sometime in the middle of taking the apple ****.

Yeah same issue but decided to use the adb push and worked fine.
LOVE IT!

[Q] Can this be themed without altering anything else on my phone? (With Pic)

Running a deodexed 2.2 rom with a custom theme that I love and don't want to part with, but one thing I would love to change are the white boxes that come up in apps. (Whats shown here on the bottom)

Is there a transparent or black theme that I could change those to without altering anything else?
From searching this forum I found many transparent staus/notification bars but no transparent menus yet.
The two files you need to edit are menu_background_fill_parent_width.9.png and menu_background.9.png. Both are in framework-res in the drawable-hdpi folder. Be warned if you make em black you will need to invert the text also or it'll be black on black and useless.

Thanks so much man.
Ok I found the files in question through the framework.apk through root explorer but I don't think me going in and editing the .png image will work on it's own right? I can't just extract the image, change it, and plug it back in and have it work right?
Ok searching some more looks like I will need Ninjamorph to just change out the .png files. Lets see how this goes. Thanks again!

Thats exactly what you do.
Put the framework-res.apk on your desktop
Extract it
Go to those images and edit them
Drop your edited images back into their proper path in the actual .apk itself
adb push that apk back into system/framework.
Reboot. Set perms with root explorer on that modded apk and reboot again.
Done
Ok thanks Wild, I just edited my last post and I am guessing I can eliminate some of that (connecting to the PC) if I just use Ninjamorph.
Well after following the Ninjamorph directions to a T. I got stuck in boot loops and never got to seee how teh finished product came out.
Will probably just try tomorrow on my computer doing it the other way.
Anyway thanks for the help guys and have a nice night.

[Bootanimation] LightFlow [Update: March.26.12]

Forked over from AndroidForums.com
All credit goes to TheRoosevelt
I just provide for our MDPI device by resizing.
Should work with any MDPI device
Just flash in Recovery
It is landscaped though. If it's vertical, like below, it'll look bad
Obligatory "I take no responsibility for any damage to your phone" but there's a 99.99% chance that everything will be fine

Ohhhh that's why! You're running cm9 and the bootanimation file in the zip is for stock and cm7! Just extract the zip and copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media or /data/local

Actually, no custom bootanimation works on cm9. Tried to push 2 different bootanimation.zips into system/media and only get black screen on boot.

I love the blue version!
Is there anyway to make it move faster back and forth across the screen?
Thanks for your hard work!!

No need to reset to default. You could just set alpha to zero in nav bar color. I.e., if your color was set to pure white it would be like so: #ffffffff. The first two letters determine transparency, so to get your icons original color to sore just set transparency to zero like so: #00ffffff.
