[Q] Why am I always roaming? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I running Fresh Evo 3.4.0.1 by Flipz. I have the latest Radio (2.15.00.09.01) and PRI (1.77), I've also updated the PRL to 60671. My problem is that my phone seems to be roaming like crazy all the time, when roaming i'm unable to receive calls. I can place calls no problems though. I've read post about editing your PRL but unable to find application to fix issue.
Thank you.
P.S: First time posting but long time viewer, you guys are great at solving issues.

[Q] Missing Texts and/or Incorrect datestamps

Alright so I have a Samsung Epic running the ACS 1.1.0 rom with ext4 w/ journaling enabled, EC05 Modem with PRL version at 60676.
Problem is that for a while now I've noticed that texts would randomly show the wrong date stamp ie usually ahead a few hours OR I might not just get them at all. I've looked around seen that you should update your PRL and profile to fix that problem, but I've done so and it hasn't seemed to resolve itself. I was running the phone on a PRL 60675 before and didn't see a change. I did run the update of the profile but it doesn't give any sort of success message or indicate anything. Sometimes it'll give a network connection failed or similar type message.
Any ideas at to what this could be. I'm tempted to flash the phone back to stock and run with that, but I really like the ACS rom and have no other ideas what I can do.
When im roaming, and i get a text message, the timestamp is always 6 hours ahead. Its a roaming problem, and im stock unrooted.

pretty sure this is a tower issue and not a phone issue. that used to happen to me on AT&T, and it was always roaming.
Yeah at this point it seems to be an issue with not the rom. I just flashed to the newest stock gingerbread release from ACS and I just got a text message timestamped 4 hours in the future ;|
Best option is to what? Call sprint? Is it more of an issue with reception in my area or something like that? I'm in the middle of the DFW and I fail to see how I can be roaming unless I'm 4 floors under a parking garage.
I would definitely let sprint know. Sounds like there may be a cell site with a bad timezone setting.

HELP! with System Updates (PRL, Profile, Firmware)

Ok, I have been having problems with trying to get these working. I even thought after a fresh update to 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) with ODIN that it would fix the problem but I get the same messages. I believe this is also causing my voicemails not to come to my phone as well. The message I am getting is:
"Error: An error occured while trying to update your PRL. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please call customer care.
Error: Unknown Error"
What could be causing this....
Thanks,
Frank
Mine has done this since November, albeit off and on. It completely stopped working back when the 60676 prl was released for me.
You can read the thread in the development forum on upgrading your prl manually. Otherwise, the only thing I've read on this topic is that it is between a bug in the software and an issue on Sprint's end.
Did it cause your voicemail not to work as well? I am not getting any ever since this happened.

The only time I've had voicemail not work is when I had my phone uptime in the days range. A simple reboot fixed the problem for my issue.
Since you are having voicemail issues too, I'd suggest bringing your phone into a Sprint service center. At the very least, you can get these issues noted on your account.
Thanks, I might just have to do that.

[Q] Call signal drops after 5 seconds/ disconnects after 12 seconds

I have Google searched and searched a ridiculous number of threads and can't seem to find a fix that doesn't involve sending the phone back to Verizon (since I'm using sprint that isn't really an option)
This phone worked great for over a month and then just stopped working. I tried reflashing through RUU's back to factory (full RUU that gets everything)
I was just running the VZW 2.15.00.07.07 Radio & 1.70.0825 PRI before the problem with just manually programed settings to get everything working.
In all my attempts to get things working I am now running the EVO Radio 2.15.00.11.19 & PRI 1.90 (both Sprint from the EVO). Everything works great except I still suffer the call dropping issue.
More details on the call seem similar to others problems but I can't find anyone talking about a fix. The call goes silent around 5 seconds then disconnects around 12 or 15 seconds.
If I load a VZW PRL I get a Verizon error message and that call seems to last indefinitely. This implies that the hardware in the phone is fine but for some reason it won't allow calls in or out.
Is this possibly an AKEY issue? or could Sprint be flagging the device somehow knowing it's not actually an EVO as I told them it was?
I'm attempting to port a rom from an evo and leave as much of it "EVO/Sprint" as possible and still have it run. I want to see if it will update profile/prl/firmware considering it has the EVO radio and PRI. I know it's a long shot, but I'm really at a loss here guys.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did this happen when trying to switch to Sprint? Or did it work on Sprint and then just quit working properly? I could be wrong, but I was under the understanding that the Incredible wasn't compatible with the system that Sprint uses for the radios.

[Q] I need help with a wierd wimax connection problem

Hey guys and gals,
I am a long time xda user but first time poster because I can usually find the solutions to my problems. I live in an area with excellent wimax coverage, but as of late my evo will connect and then lose the connection within 5-10 minutes. It started happening after flashing the new MikG. I have tried restoring old nandroids , tried different roms, and updated to SOSX so that I could update my Profile and PRL. I have tried everything multiple times to no avail. Searching xda and the web I found the ##3282# fixes but havent tried them yet because there are conflicting directions between different posts. I also ran into the 4g connection fix for cm7 but havent tried that either because I am currently on a sense rom. If anyone could help or point me in the right direction I would be extremely thankful because my wimax is my main internet source at home.
Oh yeah, when I say it drops connection I mean that I have to scan for service and start the vicious cycle again. Anyone have advice? This problem is driving me crazy....

[Q] LiquidSmooth network connection problem

Hell everyone,
I recently rooted my phone and installed LiquidSmooth on my AT&T Samsung S3. About three days into using the ROM, I notice some connection problem between my phone and AT&T's network. The problem I experienced was I wouldn't receive texts or calls from other people even though the phone is connected to the network. When I do receive the texts, they come all at once at the same exact moment. Which means my notification ringtone going off like crazy.
This problem usually occurs at night around 9-12PM. I also experienced the same exact problem when I first started using CM10, the stable build. The one thing I also noticed after installing both ROM's is there's no voicemail number. I had to manually add a voicemail number, which is my own number, right?
I decided to unroot my phone and run Samsung's newly released JB update, which totally blows besides the battery life. As of right now with the unrooted phone and Sammy's updates, everything is running fine.
Thanks very much, I appreciate any help I get from you guys. And, I do want to apologize in advance if this question had already been asked. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything on the subject. If you guys need anymore details, please do not hesitate to ask. I will try my best to provide as much detail as possible. Thanks once again.
