Has anyone tried it?

I used to have a WM and all my contacts are in Outlook 2007, which i still use at home and have my Google mail coming into it via IMAP.
I've noticed that Outlook only syncs with Phone contacts and Gmail with Google contacts.
Is there a way that i can avoid updating 2 lists and still use Outlook?
When i add a new contact why does it have to be either phone or google, why can't it be both?
Are there any apps out there than can sync phone and google contacts on the phone?
G-SyncIt google it, £10 and works really well.
Companionlink (Google version not USB version)
The Desire is my first Android phone, and never used google sync to synchronize the contacts. I have 2 questiones,
1. Is the google cantacts format as same as the outlook contacts?
2. If I sync the phone contacts with outlook then sync with google's, will generate the dual same contacts in the phone?
Thanks a lot.
I ended up exporting my contacts from exchange as a .csv file then importing into my Gmail contacts so I could use the Hullomail voicemail app effectively.
how can i sync my contact from Outlook to Gmail ??? so i can transfer them to the phone ?
i sow somewhere software that sync the conatcts from outlook to Gmail and in this way i could be able nc to get the conatct to my desire after i sync it to gmail
can anybody help me please?
(p.s. i tryied the easy way to export CSV file from the outlook and import it on gmail but its not good and all mixed up the name and everything.. so i prefer other way)
thanks !
Isn't that a function that HTC Sync offers?
You can find it on the sd card of your phone.
I used export from Outlook and it worked fine, try using a different file type as google accepts oodles of different ones.
I don't know if it's possible with Outlook instead of Windows Mobile, but you can try.
Sync Outlook (contacts offcourse) through ActiveSync with the gmail server. (m.google.com I believe...) Then all your Outlook contacts should have been synced with gmail.
Maybe backup your contacts before trying.

Google Calendar Sync
I use Google Calendar Sync for that, works great http://dl.google.com/googlecalendarsync/GoogleCalendarSync_Installer.exe
I have a published Outlook Calendar, does anyone know if there is a way to sync it with the HTC calendar? My work doesn't have a exchange but it'd be nice to have all the calendars synced.
thanks!
You can use HTC Sync that comes with the phone, though I had problems with it and now use MyPhoneExplorer. If you haven't synced with a desktop calendar yet make sure you enter at least one entry onto the phone's calendar first or the sync won't happen.

I'm not trying to sync with a computer, I want to be able to sync with a web calendar which is just a ics file hosted remotely.
OK. MPE will sync with a local or remote 'ical' file. Go check it out at ... http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ ... and see if it'll do what you want. Their forums are quite responsive so ask there if not sure.

I realise that this does not fully answer your needs but you may find this info of use and it could well highlight some useful workarounds if needed.
You may find the info on calendar syncing here of help: http://www.tripit.com/uhp/calendarInfo#google. I have my HTC HD2 (with Android) syncing with Google Calendar and then sync my home PC Outlook 2007 2-way with Google Calendar. For this latter sync I use the free Google Calendar sync tool here: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955
For me this works perfectly. If you use Outlook then do not forget that you can add a remote calendar to that - using the Google sync tool may then achieve what you want.
I find my solution works well because I have my calendar anywhere - on my phone, at home and online so even a dead phone means my calendar is to hand.
Tip?
If you are looking for a way to sync all your contacts to your Android and HTC Sync doesn't work anymore it is possible with this tool:
tools.google.com/dlpage/outlookmigration
It syncs your contact to your GMail account and then you can sync your Android with GMail. It is a workaround....
Thanks Thats brilliant
