Hello.
Since yesterday I can't get any reception from my HTC Desire. All it says is "Limited Service, emergency calls only".
It seems to come from my phone apparently.
I have a HTC Desire branded Orange (France) and I flashed the official HTC Desire rom on it then updated to Froyo via update.zip.
It worked fine until now.
I tried flashing 3 other radio, including the orange one, but it doesn't change anything.
Tried wipe data factory too, nothing more.
Can anybody help me please?
Did you flash anything before you werent getting signal or did it just randomly go? Tried searching for networks manually? You should be able to get the joint Orange T-Mobile network.
I didn't flash anything. The only thing I did was update an app via Market.
Searching network manually never end, it keeps searching again and again.
I tried with another sim card and it works.
Thank you

is the sim card for the same network? your provider will be able to just swap info on it , so that sim card becomes your old one
Yes it is.
I will try to check with them when I get off work.
Thank you.

Hi,
I had an OTA firmware update about a week ago and all seemed fine. Then a couple of days ago, I started to lose reception... and was unable to make/recieve calls. Initially I thought it was a network issue, then I discovered my work phone (also on Orange) had perfectly good reception. I decided to change network settings (GSM-WCDMA) and no luck. Then I thought I will change SIM cards, and now I get "No SIM card in phone". The original sim card works fine in my work phone, but no SIM card works in my HTC Desire!
Im pretty certain it has something with that OTA firmware upgrade. Also, when switching the phone on it constantly asks me to reset the time.
Any ideas what I can do? The phone is unbranded from CPW.
Have you tried a hard-reset? I'm not sure of the exact procedure, but I'd try that first, or maybe reflash the de-branded ROM to it??
I know the Orange handsets that had been de-branded SIM-Locked the phone after being flashed OTA (search the forums and you'll see) and to get past this you needed to get an unlock code from htccodes (or another)...
Hope you get it working matey...
Orange and T-Mobile have just recently made a merger so all orange and T-Mobile phones are having issues with reception, as for your issues have you got a stock orange desire or are you using debranded desire? If your stock try rerooting using a goldcard and see if this helps any

Hi, I'm a noob, forgive me. I bought my Desire HD from Singapore, which came unlocked. Then, I downgraded it, and rooted it. Everything went fine. Then one day, after flashing a rom and flashing the recommended radio (forgot which rom), my phone suddenly lost signal, and I have been unable to get it back since. It says "Limited Service Emergency Calls Only" It detects the SIM card, but when I try to connect to my home network, it says that my SIM does not allow a connection to that network. So, I flashed back to stock, both Froyo and Gingerbread, assuming that it replaces the radio with the default radio. (Is that so?) However, that does not work. Now I fear that I might have flashed the wrong stock rom, which might be the problem. Does anyone know what is the stock rom for the Desire HD shipped to Singapore unlocked (software number, etc) and how can I get it? Also, how can I check the rom's information (software number, whether it is for asia, or is it WWE... etc) THANKS A LOT
PS. I tried getting a replacement SIM. it does not work. it is a 128k sim card. (Does that help?)
Nicholas
Also, other SIMs work on my Desire HD. My SIM doesnt, but works on other phones.
[SOLVED] I put my phone in airplane mode and my IMEI/Baseband came back, cheking the service menu I went to *#2263# and saw that "LTE Preference" was enabled. I clicked on Automatic and problem fixed. Probably a ROM bug? Who knows.
Hello there. I've been a reader of the XDA forums for some time but I never had any reason to create an account to post on the forums.
A few weeks ago I got a SGH-M919 as a gift, the phone only had a few months of use and I took it with me, everything worked fine except for the fact that I couldn't get 3G/4G (Not even EDGE), I was only able to connect to the GPRS network and I couldn't change the carrier (It always gave errors like "Unable to connect. Try later" and such). Although the phone is (apparently) quadband (I don't live in the US), it just didn't work but I lived with it.
Yesterday my phone was low on battery and I turned it off, a few hours later I turned it back on and it couldn't connect to the network, I went to the network options and once I pressed the screen to enter the Mobile Network options, I got an alert saying that I must have a SIM to access those option. At first I thought that the SIM got damaged somehow (This isn't the case since it works perfectly fine in another phone) but after a few minutes looking around, I checked the IMEI and instead of the usual number, I got a null/null message. My first reaction was to google what exactly happened and the answer I received was that the Baseband (Which is also Unknown) and IMEI are stored in a folder called EFS and that it got corrupted. Sweet. I looked for solutions but the main two I got (EFS Pro and ADB nvrestore) require a backup of the EFS (Which I don't have).
The other solution I got was to restore to the stock ROM (M919UVUFNH7) which I'm currently downloading from SamMobile (Sorry if this is considered spam). The phone is not rooted and has the stock ROM, it came with a CWM folder inside the internal memory with an .img file but it doesn't have CWM intalled. I've never upgraded it (Not sure if it came with that firmware from the store if it matters).
I live pretty much in what can be considered a "3rd world country". So I cannot send it to Samsung nor I have access to dollars.
Another question is, the phone was gifted to me already unlocked, I don't know if it came unlocked from the original carrier or if it was unlocked via a code or whatever. If I restore to the stock will it lock my phone to T-Mobile again? Would I be able to use it without a SIM card if it gets locked? It's impossible for me to get a T-Mobile SIM on my hands should I ever need one. In the worst case scenario that my phone gets locked, can I get it unlocked by flashing a custom ROM?
I have so many newbie questions that are already answered in other threads, but since it's a lot of information I want to get it as specific as possible to avoid breaking my phone.
If someone can help me with this issue, I'd really appreciate it.
i having same issue in M919
Do you guys get a message in notification bar about sim car removed or something about a sim card? Also, it doesn't matter if the sim card works in another phone. This device has a little issue with being picky with sim cards. If it's a cut sim card, get an original micro sim card

Hi, thanks for answering. I don't get a message about a removed SIM card. I'm also using an original micro SIM.
I already downloaded the Stock ROM but I haven't flashed it yet.

This is a known bug of the s4. It is a hardware problem and I have yet to find a solution. If you google it you will find many threads on different forums addressing this issue. Again, no known solution
Any answer/idea about my issue? . Sometimes I can access Mobile Network Options, sometimes I can't. I can't configure the APNs (They delete themselves after I click on save). Phone Serial Number didn't get deleted (Which is stored inside the EFS folder as far as I know). I also can't select a Network Mode. I click on GSM/WCDMA/LTE but it changes automatically to nothing.

That's what I said? One solution is to change sim cards if using a cut sim card to use an original micro sim. It's worked for a friend if someone I know and also for others on XDA. It's not the solution, but works for some

I would get a new sim anyway if I could. Flashing stock firmware wouldn't hurt as well

Before trying to flash it, is there any risk of getting simlocked again? I wouldn't want to get my IMEI fixed just to realize that my phone is locked to TMB again
UPDATE 1: My IMEI and Baseband randomly got back (My IMEISV was still missing) but after I restarted, they got deleted again.
UPDATE 2: Rooted, went to EFS, didn't find nv_data.
Hi all
Ok I have searched around the internet and the problem I have is my settings for internet dont save. It just says it did but does not. Resetted the phone cleared it and no joy. O2 have said they cant send a text message to update the phone i am not sure why. I have read that this happens with o2 sometimes and cant find a solution. The GSM works fine but not the 4g.
I can put my other sim card in like vodafone and EE, it works fine. Anyhow it's on android 7 and the last thing I want to try is put stock android but I don't know how to do that as it might be glitch on the android system files.
The problem is strange as it only does this with o2 but not with other sim cards as you don't need to go and manually put internet settings in. Even if you did manually put it in does the same thing... as it says saved and then does not.
I have updated a samsung with Odin and a guide off sammobiles site but not sure what the HTC secondary official site is, as I want the original rom and how to install it.
Any help would be nice.
Thanks
When you insert the sim card you should get prompted for O2 payg or O2 monthly etc.. If you don't get a prompt then it could be a simcard issue. Does the O2 sim work as it should in any other device?

Stock roms can be found (together with flashing instructions) in the ReadMe thread. Take a look at the RUU section of the thread.
Hey guys,
yesterday my phone got updated to the 3.23 Version. Since then my phone is getting no signal to my provider nor mobile network.
I tried WIPE USER DATA which also doesnt work. The sim works fine in my iphone xs...
I also tried to manually apply APN settings.
After i plug in the SIM card it asks for my pin. I enter the pin and it unlocks the SIM but no signal.
I only get a Question Mark at the Status Bar.
Do you guys have any similar problems?
Greetings from Germany

then maybe EU problem... any EU users here?
I updated yesterday & have signal (in Poland).
I suggest that you try to manually switch the network type in settings, to 4G/3G/2G.
