please help me updsating to wm6..so many problems for a noob

hi ppl...
I am having many problems installing any rom on my pda trinity ..
Can´t do hard-spl at first time, got error 246. Then, appears bootloader, i restart the application, and at the second time could install it .. ( sems odd to me)..can confirm hardspl is installed.
Then i have downloaded the dopod wm6 and when i try to install, get invalid id error at 1%..it stucks in bootloader..get this on it:
TRIN100
IPL - 0.50
TRIN100
SPL-3.03.0000 (why this?? )
Fortunately can install my official rom from htc..
Conclusion: stick to my official rom ( portuguese ).. stake zero.
But someone already had this problem? Or similar?
i am fed up with seeking.. forum xda, trinityguides .. google..all kind of foruns
what i am doing wrong? Have afraid doing the update with a cook rom my pda crashes..
what can i do?? what have my pda ??

From reading the above - I don't believe that the 246 error is your problem. (The 246 error is due to the Rom Upgrade Utility not waiting for the trinity to reconnect in bootloader mode - as soon as the connection is lost you get that. as you have seen, by restarting the RUU - or only starting the RUU when the phone is manually in bootloader mode - you can get the ROM loaded.)
I believe your problem is the stuck at 1% trying to flash the dopod ROM.
My 2 cents: forget the DOPOD ROM - it really is not as good as the cooked ROMs - in this case - "official" is not better.
The 1% sticking problem is a problem with this ROM.
Download another ROM (which one is not an easy question - but I have heard good things about sammy_deluxe ROM if you're looking for a portuguese ROM) and try updating with another ROM. it will work. Patience!

up-grade to wm6 and reset problem

Hello
I am new here, i have a qtek 9000 that run wm5, what should i do to up-grade to wm6. What up-grade do you suggest i need in order to increase the performance of my phone.
Here is all the information that i have on the phone.
rom version : 1.30.77 wwe
rom date 02/20/06
radio version; 1.11.00
Protocol version: 42.45.P
ExtROM version: 1.30.9090
The second problem that i hace is that the phone is constanly reseting, i don't know why, but when battery reach approx. 80% it turn off and reset. Then i have to plug in the charger in order for it to restart? Can anybody help me

Hi, for the reset problem I suggest you to look to the wiki, you will find some types of strategies to fix this, it seems to be a battery problem(just my opinion). For the upgrade you have to look wath's the boothloader version of your device. If you have 1.00, you have to upgrade the boothloader before flashing a new wm6 rom. In any case you will find all this and other informations in the wiki. When you will be done, if you want, I will suggest you the best roms available .

before upograding you have first to make a lot ( I really mean it) of reading thru 1) XDA_wiki and 2) all 3d you can on the different wm6 available ROMs ( see upgrade wm6 section) You can have an idea of what are the problems users have/are encountering.
My 1 cent
a)Enter into bootlader mode ( pls don t ask how, look and search) and find out if you have a G3 device ( vers 1.0x) or G4 ( vers 2.x) . Depending on this you have to first check if the ROM upgrade you ve selected among the different available is OK for your device. Few ROMS infact have different version for G3 and G4) . If you have a bootload vers 1.0 or below, first upgrade to a more recent version before even thinking to upgrade ROM.
the upgrade Bootload tools are available in general on your device site ( I have an Imate , I have the sw there) or look and search here....in this site there is EVERYTHING! go to the ftp section , link unders XDA-Wiki, Universal and search
b) upgrade to Active e Synch 4.5
c) Create a folder where you ll put the selected Wm6 version that you ve picked and unzip it.
d) You ll see the following files:
EnterBL
Get device data
RUU.conf
Ruu.dl
Ruuenc.dll
UI.dll
ROMUPGRADE.exe AND !!!!
nk-.nbf ( this is the ROM UPGRADE)
ms.-nbf ( this is the external ROM)
This is almost all what you need to start to upgrade. Infact you might also want to upgrade to a most recent radio version ( radio._nbf) . I am using 1.15 that is very stable and powerfull but pls read comment of users using the selected Wm6 you ve picked and check their coments. A higher version is not implicitely a better version.It depends on Wm6 rom version and the operator you re using.
Therefore, if you want to upgrade the radio as well , proceed to the FTP of universal, and download the radio version you like . Unzip the file , copy and paste JUST the radio._nbf file to the folder above created.
e)Connect to AS and make the last synch before the upgrade and disconnect
f) take sim and sd card out.
g) put down firewalls and antivirus on your PC
h) open AS and uncheck File/connection Settings/ USB connection
i) connect device to PC, you ll see AS wont start ( of course)
l) enter into bootloader mode
m) click on Romupgrade.exe
n) follow EXACLY instructions on your PC screen...be cool, be patiente. It will take some 20 minutes....
when everything is finished , disconnect , do a NORMAL soft reset and here you are.
Flag again USB connection in AS and synch. you have now a wm6 version. I am using Ranju 7.1 and it flys as an angel on my JJ, but I suppose there are plety good ones around

Problem whit Flashing ROM
1. I have HTC P3300 in france lang. I try many times to flash it in to ENG rom, whit every rom and USPL, RomUpdateUtility.......... without succes!
When I try to flash it, he started to 3% and the PDA he turnig OFF from self and on screen of flashing utility says: The image file is corrupted. Please check your update utility !!!!!!!!!
I need help to flash becouse every 5 or 15 min he restarted from self, white screen, blocking app, and cant be turned ON in next 1 hour!
What to do?
My PDA is:
P3300 Arte100
Version of ROM: 3.13.406.1 FRE
Date of rom 8/28/07
ver. radio 02.94.90
Ver. protocole: 4.1.13.44
WM6 Pro. Bulid 18125.0.4.2

flash without memorycard and simcard in phone!
flashing with windows xp gives least problems!
use good rom (original rom of for example touch roms from meschle), maybe the error is in the rom you use!
always use uspl beforte flashing!

Upgrading O2 XDA Ignito

Hi every one
I would like to thank every one in this forum for all the great help & support.
I have learned a lot from here on how to tweak my 1st windows mobile
My HTC is O2-UK branded :
XDA Ignito
DIAM300 64M
SPL-2.07.0000
ROM version: 2.10.206.1 WWE
ROM date: 24/06/2009
Radio: 1.13.25.24
Protocol version: 52.62.25.34H_1.13.25.24
Using O2 official ROM upgrade
[Xda Ignit2_UK_2.10.206.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship.exe]
What I want to do is just put a clean ROM (may be HTC original) without all the additional software that comes with the branded ROM
The reason for this is my windows folder is filled with unnecessary stuff that I can’t delete (like opera9 & some ringtones) which is taking some precious space (file properties show it's ROM files).
My question is:
1- Which HardSPL should I use?
I’ve read this great tutorial & I’ve gathered that I need Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex & this (correct me if I am wrong)
Thanks to cozzykim for his MiniTUT but does it matter if I have SPL 2.07 & install an older version (like Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex 1.40 or 1.93) or should I wait for an upload of SPL 2.07 ??
2- Does it matter if the SPL I install is signed or not when it comes to installing cooked ROMs in this forum vs official HTC ROMs ?
3- If I want to revert back to the stock ROM for warranty reasons, can I still do that? & how ? (revert back to same SPL & ROM) ?
I've got the extracted files from the official rom which include [01_SPL.nb] which is SPL-2.07.0000, (if anyone is interested I can upload it).
So can I reinstall this in future? or just run the full official ROM.exe installer to put everything back as it was (including original SPL)?
Before any one starts flaming about searching before opening a new thread, I did search (spent two weeks reading through different posts) & I did not find any mention (or upload) of Hard SPL 2.07 (only found 1.93).
I found previous threads with similar questions not answered so thought may be it's better to open a new thread than digging & bringing up a one year old thread.
Pardon me for my noobish questions but this is my 1st flash & I am sure it will be easier afterwards but I hope answering these questions will make it easier for noobs like me & to those with XDA ignito.
Any help is appreciated & if any moderator thinks this is a repeat post & should be closed then feel free to do so.

2. Reset to bootloader to check Hard SPL .
3. Copy GSM rom to Internal Storage ( file name DIAMIMG.nbh )
4. Flash Rom ( put reset button - keep holding volume down button and back button - then release reset button ).
5. Wait until it's finish then reset.
6. Done
My fone doesn't have warranty so I don't care to roll-back to stock rom . I can't help you but I think someone can.

One question though, does it matter if you have a newer SPL than 1.40?
I mean did you have the same SPL (1.40) before installing OliNex 1.40 or it doesn't really matter what version is in your phone?
(mine is 2.07 & I am not sure if it's ok to install an older version like 1.40 or 1.93)

Same steps as thangkls
1. Hard SPL - used OliNex 1.40 [Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex].
2. Reset to bootloader to check Hard SPL .
3. Flashed with A.Z.T.O.R. Re-Evolution
& I must say, it looks great so far (especially the landscape feature).
I'll worry about the warranty later (though I think restoring a newer SPL 2.07 should work the same way, as explained here)

Actually this was the 2nd ROM on my list to test.
I liked A.Z.T.O.R. Re-Evolution but had to abandon due to a keyboard bug.
Gen.Y D2 R5.3 looks great with 15MB more storage space & same memory use.
No bugs so far.

htc touch diamond question

hi to all ... please to answer at one question ..... i search the internet yesterday and today and i read a lot of tutorials from wich i learn a lot of things about how work this awsome device .... it's my first htc and my first windows mobile phone and i'm proud of my choice ( but this is another story )
..... my diamond have a branded ROM , a vodafone one , and i want to install a new ROM - WWE 7.5 FULL ..... especially i want to change the language , because now is german , i'm roumanian , and i want english on it : )) ... well done i downloaded all necessary files to start the job ..... but my enthusiasm was knocked-out because i meet the next screen ( see the photo )
so....what should i do ? and what am I doing wrong ? ... i follow conscientios all the instructions :
- battery is full
- usb cable is well connected to PC and Phone
- standby and hibernate modes are turned off
- i have a correct ActiveSync connection between Phone and PC .... including Outlook
so if you will tell me what to do i will be verry gratefull

and how can i put my diamond on bootloader mode ? ..... by pressing volume down and reset keys in the same time ... and will appear a screen with some text informations and 3 different colors ?..... I do this few hours ago and then i lose a lot of time to do my phone work well again ...are you sure is this exactly what i need to do ?

use internal storage method...is easy...in the rom you download there is a file .nbh rename it to diamimg.nbh then copy in the root of the internal memory
soft reset then hold the back button and the vol down button...follow the instruction on screen...and if you want do a hard reset after...simply soft reset then vol down + central pad button...follow the instruction..and you'll be ready

i have sppl 1.93 0000 and i try all the tutorials finded on xda about how to change to 1.93 signed by olinex and every time i get an error and when i went for a tutorial to solve that error i face another obstacol ....it seems like my last chance to change that damn sppl version is to use something called NBHUtil ... but i don't understand very well how it works so if someone will be so gentil to explain me in details this "easy" procedure this will be my last question
please post a solution and thanks in advance
LE : i learn how nbhutil works and still no result ... what else can i try to change this damn spl because i'm sick of vodafone branded windows and it's german language ... ...my diamond is Diam 100 so it shouldn't be so hard to "work" with it... but it seems like nothing want to work
