Hi,
I am getting the Omnia 7 and I was wondering if it comes with a screen protector or if I need to buy one separately?
I have the Omnia 7 from Orange. It didnt come with a screen protector or case. I'm looking for a screen protector and rubber case now...
Ah okay.
Thanks for the info.
Just got my Omnia from Orange and can confirm there is no screen protector or case in the bundle.
If anyone finds one on the web please post a link!
Thanks
I have looked and most of them are either "Coming Soon" or "Out of Stock".
Have you tried Mobile Fun?
I've tried a protector from DevDef (can't post link as forum won't let me )but I don’t like it.
Application is tricky and requires a fair amount of water (eek). It distorts the image and takes away some of the Omnia's brilliant screen.
It’s also quite rubbery, and gives a fair bit of resistance to your finger when swiping. It also makes the screen less sensitive, requiring more pressure.
I'm keeping it on based on something is better than nothing! But I'm looking for and keen to find something better.
You can buy them from protectionfilms24.com they come in a pack of 6 and cost a few pound, delivery is fast too!
Isnt the whole point of Gorilla glass so you don't need these rubbish screen protectors? I keep mine in a BENCH sock when I'm not using it. Its got a micro fibre lining which cleans off the finger prints and every time I take it out, it's as if the screen is new.
No scratches at all.

When you look at that ebay sellers profile, most of the bad comments are to do with that deal of 6x screen protectors. It's cheap because as the desciption states, the film is only .05mm.... when you look at his bad customer comments, most complain about that specific product, some saying its basically like cello tape. The sellers response to some of the complaints was "buy the more expensive one ) The desciption also doesnt say it is scratch proof... I got the more expensive one and will review it once I receive it (should be by next week).

Someone in the focus/omnia 7 thread asked a Samsung rep that question... and was replied with a 'yes'. Eitherway, I'll still be putting on a screen protector just in case lol
The Omnia doesn't officially have Gorilla glass, but so doesn't the Galaxy S either, and afaik the Galaxy S have gorilla glass.

Here are some specs ..
Samsung Omnia 7 is a pretty standard smartphone on the outside – it has 3 touch sensitive control buttons and a big touch screen that allows you to do all the tasks you need, and it’s pretty slim at only 11 mm, which makes it good for pockets, although it’s height and width might be a problem.
Samsung Omnia 7
Samsung Omnia 7
Using it with one hand is actually a bit hard because of its slim body, but it’s no problem once you get used to it. The build quality is great, with durable plastic being used throughout the body, and the back panel is made of aluminum with a matte finish. The screen glass is scratch-proof (it’s made of Gorilla glass or a similar material), which is a good thing since adding a protection film almost always reduces touch sensitivity.

I believe Gorilla Glass is actually part of the Super AMOLED spec.
Isn't it wired that nobody can actually find a reputable source?
Hey guys, my Vikuiti DQC160 screen protector has arrived (got it on eBay).
The overall fit is just right, though the cutouts are bigger than needed (mainly the home button and the earpiece cutout, the sensor cutouts seem perfect).
I've uploaded some pictures of it installed to give an idea of the fit.

I will post this in both Galaxy s3 sections because people need to know. This is a good read to know about their misleading advertising that their employee uncovered (unintentionally?) for me.
I am sorry I do not have any photos, because my camera just cant pick up the issues correctly...
I suggest to stay away from this product. It is not like the original invisibleshield.
It is very smooth, which is better than the original, but IT IS NOT DURABLE! The slightest pressure by my fingernail left an indent that has not gone away. I tried the same thing on my brother's original invisibleshield on his HTC Desire and it would not even leave an indent in the first place. If it flexed a little bit, it would heal itself right away.
My screen looks like I have been using the phone for 2 years! and I BABY the phone. Has always been in a case (which does not touch the screen), never shares my pocket with anything else, is face down in my pocket, hasnt been dropped yet (knock on wood) and have not bumped anything into the screen. I do not use a stylus.
I have had the protector on since June 27th and there are many indentations on the screen! It dents extremely easily and it does NOT HEAL.
I have been going back and forth with a Zagg employee in customer service and I will show the correspondence here, but I will remove his/her name.

I have a new Samsung Galaxy s3 and I am wondering what the difference is between the regular invisible shield and the HD. I bought the HD and have had it installed for about 4 days now. It is very smooth which I like, but my brother has a standard invisibleshield on his HTC Desire and although it is not quite as smooth, it does not show any scratches.
The InvisibleShield HD shows scratches quite easily. I applied very light pressure with my fingernail to the corner and there was an indent. It still has not gone away since 3 days. On my brothers device, there is no indent shown as all with the same amount of pressure from my fingernail.
It seems to be less durable and more prone to damage, yet a higher price.

Thank you for contacting ZAGG, where we are Zealous About Great Gadgets! My name is XX and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
Thank you for the purchase of the invisibleSHIELD. I'd like to confirm that the HD is a thinner than the original, which helps with the smoothness and clarity. However, due to the same fact, it does not absorb impact or scratches as well as the original invisibleSHIELD. It still has the original's ability to repair itself but it will take longer to do so. Furthermore, we normally recommend not to asses the quality of any invisibleSHIELD until after a couple of weeks from installation, if it was successful. This is because the adhesive is still curing on to the surface of your phone and may be more prone do damage. If the adhesive is disturbed while it's drying, it will most likely stay that way.
I would recommend to allow an extra week to determine whether or not your invisibleSHIELD will need to be replaced, which is very likely due to the curing procedure your invisibleSHIELD has endured. If so, you may place a warranty request to have a new one sent to you.

I don't really see with what the surface of the screen protector has to do with the adhesive. The indents left in the screen protector are from absolute minimal pressure. I don't see how you are charging a premium for this product when in 2 weeks the screen will look horrendous being covered in indents.
Making it thinner but HIGHLY susceptible to indents is a terrible idea. I have also looked online briefly and I'm not the only one with this issue with the HD.
Zagg is generally known with quality products but this is crazy. A SCREEN PROTECTOR that can't withstand the smallest of pressure/contact/impact. Can you imagine if someone uses a stylus on here? I it would look like an ice rink after a week of crowds skating on it.
This product was not well thought through and I hope it is either redesigned or not made any more. My brand new phone and screen protector looks like I've owned it for over a year. (and I baby my phones. They never share a pocket with anything else, always use a case) for I have no idea how these marks could have even managed to get on there with that being said. I know only one I made on purpose to test it and it's at the bottom away from the screen, but there are many other marks on the screen. I hope it's not the COTTON FIBRES from my pocket making them...

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way. However, it is unreasonable to compare different products and expect them to perform the same as others when they are in a different category. Different products are introduced to the market to satisfy different customers and provide a wider range of protection products. There will never be a "one-size-fits-all" product from any company.
To further elaborate on the adhesive part, if you were to remove part of the adhesive, you will see a noticeable line/scratch on the bottom (adhesive) side of the invisibleSHIELD because the adhesive has been removed/disturbed/stretched. As mentioned, the invisibleSHIELD is more vulnerable to damage while it is still drying.
We have also been selling the HD invisibleSHIELD for the iPhone 4/4S and iPad 3 (3rd Gen) with great success. In the iPad 3, it is not uncommon for customers to use fine stylus, such as the JOT stylus, which has a fine point.
I believe that the reason why you are not completely satisfied with the invisibleSHIELD you own is because you are comparing it to other products, as stated. However, if you are not happy with it, I would recommend seeking assistance from the retailer it was purchased from and inquiring about their return process.

First off I want to address your comment of "There will never be a "one-size-fits-all" product from any company. " I guess you have not heard of SGP? They Flex HD wet applicator is incredibly clear and smooth..and THIN. There are many products that are just as smooth and "glass-like" as the HD, without warping to the slightest contact. Also many other screen protector brands are excellent, from Rearth, to Ghost Armour, and on, and on.
Your interpretation seems to be that, there is no "one size fits all" because your new HD is very weak and you pretty much admitted that when you said, "Thank you for the purchase of the invisibleSHIELD. I'd like to confirm that the HD is a thinner than the original, which helps with the smoothness and clarity. However, due to the same fact, it does not absorb impact or scratches as well as the original invisibleSHIELD."
Also, this insults me even more when you tell me that, " it is unreasonable to compare different products and expect them to perform the same as others when they are in a different category"
I am surely not comparing products in a different category and I'm shocked to even see you write that... They ARE in the same category unless Zagg is magically creating their own category. It is in a wet application screen protector category. ACCORDING TO YOU though, the difference is that... its weaker... because its thinner.
That is even more interesting and let me tell you why.
Here is a link to ZAGGs post on THEIR website - http://www.zagg.com/community/blog/...-for-iphone-and-ipad-with-an-invisible-video/
Look familiar?
"We took the original invisibleSHIELD, improved the clarity, and added a glass-like surface."
Ive spent over an hour searching online through various sources and nowhere does it mention the fact that it does not absorb impact or scratches as well as the original IS. Yes the fact that is is thin is mentioned, but that fact alone should not lead someone to assume that this MORE EXPENSIVE and new product is any WEAKER than the original. If its weaker but clearer/smoother... it should be the same price!
ON SECOND HAND lets take a look at my box for the invisibleshield HD !
"THE invisibleSHIELD HD DELIVERS THE SAME PATENTED, AWARD-WINNING, AND VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE PROTECTIVE FILM AS THE ORIGINAL PATENTED invisibleSHIELD, WITH PREMIUM FEATURES INCLUDING ADVANCED CLARITY AND A GLASS-LIKE SURFACE."
Wow, I may have just stepped on my own toes there, it does not even mention that it is thinner! Also in HUGE letters above that it says "THE ORIGINAL, MILITARY GRADE FILM NOW IN HD"
It says its the SAME FILM as the ORIGINAL, but with PREMIUM features (clarity, smoothness). This is misleading advertising at its best.
Keep in mind I purchased the shield based on reading the box in the store, and now after the fact I am searching online and still doesn't really help ZAGGs case.
What else does it say on the box? SCRATCH PROOF
It also mentions that if its ever damaged, it will be replaced for the life of the product. I think scratches/indents are considered damage and since my first email, this thing has nearly twice as many issues with it now.
I laugh at the same "nano-memory technology" on this packaging which is what you advertised on the original IS as well because NONE of the marks have gone away.
Also, interestingly enough, there is no mention of what you told me, "This is because the adhesive is still curing on to the surface of your phone and may be more prone do damage. If the adhesive is disturbed while it's drying, it will most likely stay that way."
Seriously? You dont mention that to the consumers? So this terrible screen protector will always look terrible now, You want us to leave the phone is a protective box for over a week allowing it to cure? That never happened with the original IS. This is the worst advertising for a product.
This is nothing against YOU because you did not manufacture or create the product packaging and advertising (that I know of), and you did shed some light on the misleading nature of this product for me, but don't tell me this is in a different category and that its not fair to compare to your original IS. Thats insulting my intelligence. I can read the packaging of the product sitting here in front of me that claims, again, ""THE invisibleSHIELD HD DELIVERS THE SAME PATENTED, AWARD-WINNING, AND VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE PROTECTIVE FILM AS THE ORIGINAL PATENTED invisibleSHIELD, WITH PREMIUM FEATURES INCLUDING ADVANCED CLARITY AND A GLASS-LIKE SURFACE."
It CLEARLY says its the same, original film, but with added features. That would mean its in the same category, or if you want to play the category game, it would be in a premium category BASED ON THE PACKAGING AND ADVERTISING since it does not mention that it is weaker.
I was going to just return this to BestBuy and get them to refund the difference and just go with the original invisbleshield, but because of our correspondence which has made me look closer at the brand and its advertising for this product, I refuse to support this product. I will get a refund and purchase a better, wet protector applicator with glass like smoothness, military grade, great clarity, at a better price, and that will not indent like play-doh - and trust me, there are enough choices for this CATEGORY of screen protector on the market.
ps. this is not an isolated incidence, I have a friend who also purchased this and agrees with me.
pps. Your comment about your Apple products - if they have the same HD material that the Galaxy s3 has, I find it hard to believe that theirs arent weak as well. Although at the same time, people I know with Apple products dont really complain about any accessory they buy for them even when they break in the first week or have other faults.
I will be making these issues publicly known and voicing my displeasure with the brand and product.
Thank you and have a good day.

Read my last quote, probably the best summary.
This product is advertised as the original invisibleshield, but with premium features like more clarity and a smoother surface.
What they dont tell you, and what he admitted, is that this product is weaker.
It has dented and scratched very easily and he pretty much admitted that ... thats what will happen.
Does the dents and scratches occur on the screen protector or the screen itself? I've read good reviews on the Zagg HD but not the Zagg's until now I guess.

They appear on the screen protector. Yes its good that its not on the screen, but these should not be appearing on the protector anyway, especially from such slight pressure.

Well I believe the SGP Flex HD, which is a wet screen protector like the Zagg, covers the entire screen? There is at least one review of it on youtube.
If you want a wet applicator - SGP Flex HD, Ghost Armor, wrapsol. Those are some of the well reviewed ones.

A dry one that covers the entire screen? I actually havent seen one yet for the s3.
Generally for a dry protector, I would recommend SGP though.
Rearth has one called the Ringbo for the s3 that also seems good - but again it does not cover the entire screen.
The dry ones dont cover the entire screen because they dont properly stick to the curved edges of the s3. Thats why they are all cut a bit short all the way around.

I will get Best Buy to put another one on for me (for free) and I'll see. But again, that makes me even more mad because yours is fine, but this Zagg person is telling me its perfectly fine that mine is all dented up because the product is thinner and weaker... Come on, really?
Should have just said that its probably an issue. I would have said ok and drove over to best buy. But then he gives me some other kind of crap about being a different category (the product box says its the same film as the original but with premium features) and such...

I haven't received my S3 just yet, but on my HTC Evo (original) i use the Seidio Ultimate brand. Seidio Ultimate Screen Protector Dry installation.
I've had my Evo just over 2 years (got it day one and put the protector on about a week later). The package was a 2 pack... I've never needed to put the 2nd one on !! The original screen protector, while it has a few thin scratches if you look extremely closely, still looks like new 2 years later.
I see that on Seidio's site they have an S3 version and unless I find some review stating otherwise, I'll probably end up buying these for my S3 as well.

I'm not sure I get glass protectors anymore. I used to be a die-hard convert (I wouldn't even use the phone or pull off the factory cover until I had my protector ready) - but with gorilla glass being so resilient, unless you've got an extreme case they seem unnecessary and sometimes interfere (yellowing, distorted vision if you use polarized sunglasses, etc).
The issue really is that these are edge-to-edge so if you drop it, even with one of these on you won't prevent a crack (unless the fall is perfectly level) regardless of the hardness rating. It's the corners and sides you want to protect.

Dan, it's the smoothness/feel of glass that we adore while still protecting the original screen. If you don't care about the feel you might as well get a $10 screen protector.
If I accidentally put my phone in my keys pocket or slide the phone face down on a rough surface I'd rather easily replace a $30-$40 screen protector than spending a considerable amount of money to replace the panel/glass.

Don't get me wrong - I totally understand the appeal of glass, both in terms of clarity and feel, over some kind of plastic cover. My point is simply that the GG3 is *much* stronger / resilient than any kind of cover (to the point that dragging my keys or any "normal" situation wouldn't cause it issue) and that the cover, no matter what tensile properties, will never prevent cracking of the glass if the phone is dropped. Additionally, given that LG has finally figured out that separating the digitizer from the glass (a la iPhone) means that instead of paying $200 every time you crack the glass (as I have done, unfortunately, 4 times on my N4) - instead the phone works fine with cracked glass and eventually the glass prices should fall to something on the order of $30-40 installed. This is including the markup that the company I used to fix my N4 quoted me (e.g. retail pricing).
At that price point, why would you install a weaker, less efficient, optically distorting (all optical layers added on cause distortion, trust me I have a high level academic b/g in this field) when for the same price (or less if you're as prone to dropping your phone as I am) - you can have the glass replaced by the factory item for the same price or less? Plus the factory glass feels the best and has the most desirable features (oliophobic, hydrophobic, higher tensility, etc.) - no question.

Hi,
Just wanted to chime in on this

GG3 is *much* stronger / resilient than any kind of cover

GG3 is strong, but it's still glass - I always find these demos with keys and knives kind of strange, because metals are typically softer than glass. The problem with any glass is - if you have your phone in your pocket with just a few grains of sand - you will get scratches - even on the Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass is hardened to prevent shattering and scratch-resistant, but not scratch-proof. So, yes I think glass protector is a great idea.
I've been looking into the issues people had with bubbles forming on their Nexus 5 - and then I noticed that my Nexus 5, has a slight imperfection, almost like a slight dimple on the bottom of the glass, near the notification LED. It's really hard to see and I only noticed it by accident when I had the phone laying on the window sill and saw slightly distorted reflection of trees outside. I am wondering if people with bubble problem are in fact suffering from similar imperfection on the Nexus's glass preventing complete adhesion.

This is exactly the issue. There is a slight deformity in the flatness of the Nexus 5 glass surface in that area (bottom right on the bezel), a barely perceptible depression.
The current Spigen glass protectors are just too thick/stiff to accommodate this variation in flatness on the Nexus 5 screen. The result is a "bubble" under the protector.
I am guessing the Nano, being thinner and hopefully more compliant, will adhere properly to the Nexus 5 surface. Maybe a more aggressive adhesive could help here too?
I'm holding off until I see some user reviews. Also, still waiting for my Spigen refund!
Tempered Armor just launched their Galaxy S3 tempered glass screen protector December 2nd. Saw a review video for their Note 3 protector and absolutely loved it (Link if curious: http://youtu.be/Qzhst5jrBtI). I picked it up the same day it released.
It came in two days ago and of course I install it immediately. At first, I thought great, the adhesive is doing it's thing. Then, once I took the blue plastic cover off, the disappointment set it. At a nearly uniform distance completely around the protector, the adhesive doesn't stick. I had used their packaged microfiber and their packaged isopropyl wipes for the install. Thought cool, maybe it will take a few days. And fast forward to today, it still looks the same.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I love how it feels; I've always hated those crappy plastic protectors.
I reached out to Tempered Armor via Twitter and got no help other than them claiming it was user error and/ or the alignment is off. I sent them a Dropbox link with pictures of the alignment and they came back with the protector won't work if it is "off a hair".
Here's our Twitter conversation: https://twitter.com/temperedarmor/status/413801200866574336
Here's the Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6wur2j57ql99c7/qyw6TAEb_y
So if you are thinking about ordering one, make sure you have a micron microscope to get it aligned correctly.
Meh,
I have had similar problems with SProtectors. I do believe that the glass on most S3's have a slight curve at the outer edge.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Whenever I press down on the outside edge, it feels like the glass protector doesn't even try to stick. I feel like the adhesive wasn't properly applied to the protector before shipping.
What really got me was when customer support mentioned if it was "off a hair" it wouldn't sit right. How are you going to sell a screen protector that has a fault tolerance in alignment of a width of a hair?
Typical lack of customer service or care. This why I try to support companies like, Anker, zero lemon, Amazon. They actually care about quality and their customers. As info,
We have 3 galaxy S3 in my home and all have a slight curve downward at the edges.

I love tempered glass screen protectors. But why spend that much money on that one. I got mine off Ebay and they look way better than the one posted in the OP. The one I have sticks all the way around.
here's an example of one... (not sure which seller I bought from. it's been a several weeks since I ordered.)

I knew of the owner of the company from my days as an iPhone modder. Thought he would be a bit more "in touch" with the community and more helpful than "nope, you broke it. lalalalala can't hear you".

I would like to buy one, but 0.4 ones seems to thick as they seem to raise screen level above some cases lips..
Do you have slimmer one or is that one ok ?

The one I have is .3, so just a bit thinner. on all of the cases I have used, it doesn't interfere with the case. I have used it with the Otterbox Commuter case and it looks fine. Right now, I'm using it with a rubber/plastic case that I found at Walgreen's of all places. There is usually a small gap between the edge of the screen protector and the case. I'll see if I can get a picture up
EDIT
Here's mine with a case and the glass screen on it (sorry pic quality is bad, taken with an Ipad, of course)

Thanks for pic..i will definitely look for a glass thinner than 0.4..
Whenever i put a screen protector on my s3 the touch screen glitches, key presses al over the screen like whenever i press the app drawer it opens my notification bar, whenever i type something it scrolls up,so does that have anything to do with the quality of the screen protector?
Has anyone seen any accessories for the axon 7 yet? The only things I've seen so far are pretty much the accessories that come in the box with the phone itself.

Obviously, but it's already unveiled in China. I figured there would be at least some cases shown or for sale by now. I'm sure they'll come in time. Just wondering if any forum members had spotted anything.
I am really waiting for tempered glass protectors. I really wanna protect the screen from shattering should it fall accidently, but i still want to see the whole premium metal casing.

It'll be interesting to see those. They'll probably only cover a middle portion of the screen minus the edges, given that it has a "2.5D" display.

The Screen is pretty durable!!
The vid I watched showed a screen protector inside the box when he took it out of there. It was in China, so not sure if the US is going to get the same things inside the box, but it's nice to know they throw one in. Also, not sure of the quality, but still... It's the thought that counts, right? LOL!

Yeah, it's a film screen protector.. Better than nothing I guess.. At least until the tempered glass screen protectors come out for it.
I did run across this Screen Protector a few mins ago. Not sure how good it is though.

Skinomi's got their TPU screen protectors out, both matte and HD clear. Not their tempered glass yet though. Their skin films are shipping late this month.
Flexible TPU works a lot better with 2.5d glass, if you can deal with the feel of it. Personally, I prefer it over glass, my finger seems to glide much more smoothly on the TPU material, probably due to the slight orange peel (glass offers up too much friction).

No i haven't really seen that much, that said we should go and ask dbrand to make some sweet custom skins for us for us to buy
( i already asked if they plan on doing it they said no cause there's no high demand for it so lets make some demands !!!)
I asked ZeroLemon if they planned to make a battery case for it and they said no. Bummer as I have used them in the past when I was going to be without a charger for a while. Not something I used every day, but handy to have when needed.
Had a quick email from SPIGEN regarding AXON 7 cases , they state " we do not have any information about this item at the moment." . . So they are a no go at this time .
Case with Belt Clip
For those of you who care about such things, apparently the only case that comes with a belt clip for this phone, at this time, is by Nagebee, and is only available from amazon.

While not specifically for the axon I can tell you that I've had luck with a USB C to USB 3.0 hub that my 6P didn't work with.

Anyone test USB c HDMI output?
Finally went live on Amazon. $6.99 for a pack of 4. These are my favorite mainstream screen protectors. My favorite isn't sold for many phones. Power support makes one helluva slippery screen protector and they are more scratch resistant than these. But they usually cost 2 for $20-25, or $15 if you get them on sale but as me times before power support isn't sold for many phones. So I get the Korean made Ringke and use rain x to add some slip to it and rain beads off faster to boot.
Does it fully cover the glass?
I don't know yet. From pictures looks like it covers more than the screen, but not all the way to the curved edges. And of course cut out for ffc and the sensors next to it. I'm buying 2 packs anyways. These are probably the best bet for now.
Please post pictures, I have gone through different screen protectors orders and so far none has worked, either leaving the protector off in the curved part or leaving a huge gap unprotected.
PS: don't buy the Fosmon
i just bought the tempered glass screen protector from ringke through amazon, the quality is really bad. The size doesn't fit at all, bubble on both sides and top. it is really bad design.

if you had seen the review made by someone in amazon you would have seen that he put 1 star and specified why >>> reason, it leaves develop halos on the edges. That's why i bought one that has no review whatsoever, i bought it on ebay though.

That review was put up less than a few hours ago.
I'm pretty sure if a company comes out with a tempered glass protector that conforms to the edges we are going to have pay a premium. Probably upwards of $30 or more. I might get the Ringke glass anyways to try. Edge lift only bothers me a little bit. I would like to try dingle's brand anyways and see the quality of glass. How slippery it is and if it is real glass or that fake plastic ****. I know probably after a week or so I'd pull it off after the dust that gets under the edges drive me crazy but it's worth it to try ringke's quality on glass anyways. I know their film is pretty good.

aaa i see i see, sorry about that lol. It was been talked in the other tempered glass thread and i only saw the review there when i pressed the link, on the other hand , it is true i didn't see the date. . I doubt that anyone will get a tempered glass that covers the whole screen, that's why the one i bought only covers just a little more from the second screen, and just before it reaches the lg logo in the bottom, and on the edges it only reaches up to where the actual display ends , maybe a bit more. At least that is what i see, but i wont be able to try it U_U for now.
