Hey peeps any help here would be fantastic.
My wifes HTC Dedire keeps dropping calls and loosing network signal at random times, this has only started recently no reason for this starting ie Droping/Spillage, She's on O2 its not due to area as been up and down the country with same issue.
Firmware version 2.1-update 1
Cant update to 2.2 as phone says phone is up to date.
Any hints or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure there is a 2.2 update for O2 phones floating around somewhere or and RUU. Use that and see if it updates your radio. That might help.
Thanks for the reply, I've searched high and low for the 2.2 update to no avail, what's this rru? The OTA update isn't working as it's says the phone us up to date already, there's got to be another way to update surely?? Thanks again for your help.

I am trying to use the offical HTC WM6 update (I have the dopod 838pro and i am sure i can use this update)
but when ever it starts to patch, my phone would somehow turn itself off (not totally off, just on standby) which will make my update result in a error 260
Tried everything and it doesn't the update doesn't work in bootloader mode.
Can anyone shed some light? I have no clue what is happening.
Thanks!
Never used it myself.
You'll get better updates on this web site that from Windows
I had similar problems after installing a ROM earlier in the year. I think it was the radio upgrade that effectively bricked it. I ended up flashing a legit ROM for my operator (T-Mobile) and taking it back to the store under its year warranty.
For that reason I have never touch the Radio on mine again!
Cheers
Aidan
Hi Peeps,
Since the update the other day I've been getting random freezing on my Desire in that I go to switch the screen on and nothing happens! I have to take the battery out to get it working again. I gave it a hard reset after it happened the second time just in case it had been something I'd done but they've continued happening. It's usually only once a day but has happened twice.
When it happened today I tried calling it while it was in it's frozen state. I got the normal ringing tone on the other phone and eventually it went to voicemail but my Desire did nothing. After pulling the battery and getting it booted up I checked the call logs to see if it had logged anything but nothing was there.
Just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing?
If it happens again I think I'll try and get it replaced via Vodafone.
PS - Stock rom with only ES File Explorer, Gensoid, Goggles, Layer, Navigon and Soltaire installed.
I am having the exact same issue! Is anyone else experiencing this?
Are you guys talking about the 1.19 OTA firmware for Vodafone HTC Desire's?

..i have branded desire,after update,no problem at all ...
With the latest official OTA update from Vodafone (1.19.161.5) I have not had any freezing issues. After performing the Software Update (Home Screen -> Menu -> Settings -> About Phone -> System Software Updates ->Check now) it appears that either Vodafone have not authorised the OTA update for 1.21.405.2 or I am not currently on the ugrade list (took 2 days after release date for me to get the 1.19 update).
So which OTA version are you referring to?
Yep, the 1.19.161.5 update. On Voda
not had a freeze today but defo gonna demand a replacement if it does it again.
I recently used mytouch_slide_factory_nandroid to unroot my phone back to factory. However, when it recovered it did with the old 1.27... software version. I tried using the OtaPkg.zip to update to current version, but keep getting the verification signature error and it aborts.
Does anybody have any ideas what I can do now? I did a live chat with T-Mobile and they said I would have to talk to Technical to see if they can OTA the updated version but it could take a while.
Help!
I am not sure this will help but you might find the answer to reverting to the original ROM here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834521
my rom is 1.32.707.1. however, I can't receive OTA. I don't know why. Do anyone have the ruu for 1.32.707.5 or 1.82.707.2. i really appreciate. Help
Just got into settings<< about fone<<system software updates<<check now( with wifi enable).I try two times and works for me.
I'm interested too, when I check for an update (multiple times) I don't find one.
I'm on 1.72.
no, it means nothing. the system with 1.32.707.1 can't receive the ota no matter how many times you try
yeah, we are still on 2.2but the newest is 2.2.1
Looking at the new update.. it looks like it has been rolled out in the far east. Europe not yet...
I use a small carrier here in Hawaii called MobiPCS, they carry the HTC Desire. It's an awesome phone however they are slow as hell with updates. They are still stuck on 2.1. For a while i used the no radio USCC pre rooted 2.2 update but decided i wanted some custom rom awesomeness... First i installed Cyanogenmod 7 on my phone and all was wonderful until i noticed i was unable to receive SMS. Sending was no problem but people weren't able to send them to me. Reflashed the rom and still encountered the same problem. Tried Oxygen and MIUI but still was unable to receive SMS. Sadly for some odd reason my 2.2 backup was corrupt and now I am stuck back at 2.1 as the link for the 2.2 upgrade is now down
Just wondering if anybody had any ideas how to fix the SMS problem or if they had a copy of the pre rooted 2.2 uscc no radio update.
Im having the same problem with in coming text, been asking mobi about the carrier
info. there is a fix but you need cdma working software and need to flash it to the phone from a computer. its a big undertaking. but they also said theres a couple places in town that unlocks phones that maybe able to do it for you. One place is at village market the dvd place there they also sell unlocked phones...but if you want 2.2 they will give it to you at mobi i have 2 desires they did it no problem.
