Im on jpm with voodoo lag fix (pre 6) installed. Now when i use droid wall i get a kernel panic as soon as i apply root permission. I thought rebooting would fix that, but as soon as i get the message 'droidwall has ben guaranted root permission' i get the kernel panic screen again. Only thing that helped was uninstalling droid wall before it got root permission after boot. Any idea how to fix that?

As the title suggests....yeh..
Originally I went back to stock di18, no root...then had the bright idea to use the stock recovery reinstaller in the all-in-one (thinking that maybe the update.zip would require it lol).
Decided I wanted to try a full reinstall of eb13 from dameons thread afterwards to see if some bugs would disappear...but..
Like I said, one click fails. The one click root/cwm gives me superuser (but I have my suspicions its not working correctly: using adb shell, then typing "su" yields a "no permissions" error) but fails cwm...AND the one click CWM standalone fails miserably.
The error messages given basically say a couple of the directories that need to be remounted to read-write CANNOT be remounted....????
...which leads me to believe (again) the root didn't take fully, since it can't get those permissions...
Help!!!!

Do what was the problem? User error I bet, lol,j/k.

Yeah user error
I used the all-in-one tool that is stickied over on sdx....
I think the root/cwm that is in it is an old version
Once I downloaded 2.5.5 it worked fine...
Which is weird, tho, because the version in the all-in-one was tested to work for froyo

I had that same problem. I used tha one click root 3.0 CWM & when I put it in recovery it wouldn't reboot. Then I installed odin & tried 2.5.5 & it didn't load in recovey mode like how version 3.0 did. So now I can't root my phone, can't get no ROMs. Wats worse I'm still on Andriod 2.1. If any 1 could give me some ideas let me know. I wouldn't advise a samsung phone 2 no 1. Every 1 else in different countries already have tha update except 4 us. IT SUCKS!!!!!
Is this flashable to the Epic?
http://project-voodoo.org/download
It has many fixes such as lagfix (which is ext4, and most users for the epic already have it), color optimization, and making the speakers louder.
http://project-voodoo.org/color
This is what I am really looking for and was just wondering if this was available to the epic yet.
Thanks
No and don't try. Give it time and the devs will port

Something we don't need. Seriously it's been mentioned in excess of 500 times and won't benefit us at all, it only has any results for the international Galaxy-S and Captivate.
ok we may not need this but what lag is spoken of? i used captivate and fascinate i notice no lag
Some captivates and vibrants had problems reading from the internal memory card which caused lag
I flashed voodoo to my epic.... don't do it!!!
So what now??!! Help! The (voodoo 5.5) kernel flashed alright and now the phone will not reboot. I can still get to cwm and when I try to reboot I get stuck in a boot loop. Phone is rooted with no other mods. I obviously got flash happy and did not read up first. F*#! Can anyone out there help me?
Enter Download Mode and Odin Back to DL18, EB13 or EC05
Thats probably the only way for you now if you can't get back to CWM. If you can, then just reflash a new ROM

My wife's RAZR died unexpectedly so she's using my old incredible for now. Its rooted and running Skyraider. Today she started getting notifications for an OTA to version 4.something. I've been out of the incredible scene for quite a while now and I'm not sure what to do. Should I let the update run? Will it loose root? Will it brick? Anyway to just cancel the update?
I would normally do the research on my own to figure this out, but I'm short on time currently. Thanks for any help!

If your rooted the ota will not install as it requires the stock recovery and all stock apps and files. You should either switch to a 4.08.605.15 based rom, or edit your build.prop file to make the update servers think you already have the latest ota.
Go to /system and open for editing build.prop
Look for a line that starts with ro.build.fingerprint=
Change it to this
ro.build.fingerprint=verizon_wwe/inc/inc:2.3.4/GRJ22/389630.15:user/release-keys
Then save, boot to recovery, and wipe cache and dalvik-cache, and reboot. The ota nag will be gone.
Thank you! I will modify the build.prop to get rid of the nag.
Very kind of you to take the time to explain it to me. Thanks again.

I'm stock rooted and already installed Freezas all in one update. I did some searching on here but couldn't find any info on stopping the OTA notification from constantly popping up. Has anyone figured it out yet?
Yes. Accept the update, let it reboot. Update won't install due to custom recovery, but you'll no longer receive the notification, and nothing is undone on your phone.

I am using Wicked Sensations 1.1 and i love it. I cant seem to get rid of the OTA though. I have tried to let the install fail and rebooted from recovery and i still get it. I also read somewhere that i should delete otacerts.zip from the /system/etc/security, after doing that i still get the nag screen. Any ideas?

Use rom toolbox to edit the build.prop entries... Change any references to the term LG8 to LI3. There are about 5 or 6 of them.. Then reboot...

Thanks, i'll try that when i get back home.
That seems to have done the trick, thanks again.
I can't seem to find any threads that address my issue. I just recently used "triangle away" to reset my binary count... successful. Next I attempted to flash back to stock via ODIN and it didn't pass. Now... my phone will not boot into download or recovery mode. It will only display this message: "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Does anyone know what I can do to get passed this??
If u can use the 3 finger salute.. push volume up, home and power.. Then flash this in recovery.. I had the same issue but I could get into recovery this way.. Hope this helps..

That's also part of my problem.... as soon as I put the battery in the warning pops up... not giving me a chance to boot into recovery. Thanks for the quick response by the way.

Awesome! Thanks... Believe me I'm searching too!
I just read on another thread to plug it in on that warning screen and run Odin again.. That answer was actually posted by billard, same who created the flashable back to stock I posted earlier. Good luck bud.. This happened to me on day 2 with my note ii.. It's scary, but the developers here at xda are amazing..

Grrrrrrr! It isn't working.... I've also tried 2 stock firmwares, 3 different cables, and even went as far as uninstalling Kies....
I wish I could remember exactly what I did to fix it.. I think if u leave the battery out for a bit.. Like 10 seconds maybe u will be able to boot into recovery from a power off state.. It's been months since I've had this issue.. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.. Best of luck to u..
