Couple of Questions on WinMo 6.5.1

Iv been using Windows Mobile 6.5 (build; 23088) for a few days now and i am really liking it. It doesnt have the flare of manillia but i am finding it more reliable.
I do however have a few questions regarding it. I have searched both XDA developers and google but iv really struggled to find any usable fixes.
1) How can i change the default Windows Mobile 6.5 icons on the home screen. For example i would like the weather to be on one of them, and i want to try and get rid of the calender icon.
2) the default media player (windows media player) i find useless at playing my music so id like to change it to coreplayer, is there any tweaks to swop them over? The same with Internet, and changing the internet explorer over to Opera 9.7.
Would really appreciate any advice on the above, iv really struggled to find answers elsewhere.

Thanks for the response mate, but i don't think i was very clear. I use the below setup, and its those shortcuts i want to change. Add a weather one, change the media player over and remove the calender etc.

course you're not going to find it because you dont even know what it's called. Try Titanium or Chome editor like this

Moved from windows mobile, things I'm missing

Hi I love my new galaxy s but there are a few apps I'm missing from my touch pro 2.
1 myplayer - is there anything I can use to access iplayer or watch live tv?
2 scummvm - I think I saw this running on the g1 but can't find it in market place
3 is there an internet radio program I can use to enter my own stations or one with on demand content (like spotify but not spotify as I don't have an account)
Also being new to android is there any must have apps I need to get?

Hi thanks for this, this site never worked with my windows mobile so I thought it was iphone only I'm a lot happier now although myplayer is still awesome (if dev reads this make it for droid)

That's weird I searched for it yesterday on the market and it didn't come up but did today. awesome android rocks
on a different note does anyone know if a PS emulator is being worked on?

there's an android version of myplayer on the app market - search for it via your phone. appbrain doesn;t seem to know abnout it though.

ScummVM for android, even though not official (yet), should be on the market.
But you can download it from HERE

[Q] Streaming Video

I am looking for a Video Streaming/Server/App configuration that works with my HTC Evo Rooted. I have been using audiogalaxy for my music and it works perfect, great UI, great features and response. I am looking for something similar but that streams video's to my phone. Key requirement is dynamic compression. I have TS, BR 720/1080, R5, etc.. all different formats & extensions and I don't want to have a second version just to play on my phone.
Goal:
1. Stream videos to my phone
2. Dynamic on the fly compression
3. Webservice to run on my local
4. Android appt that allows for remote access via 3g/4g network
Already tried:
1. VLC streaming, POS, couldn't get it to work, based on the reading and I have found that a lot of other people had the same problems
2. tversity, setup a vm(xp), loaded up, real buggy, just didn't worked cleanly
3. Orb, I was not impressed with the UI or the overall performance of the video compression
Does anyone have any recommendations, I really am disappointment to hear that my co-workers with iphone's have a kick butt app that handles video and audio all in one.

On a more related note...I would search the market and dl every streaming app that u can find and try out each one. ... and u probly posted this in the wrong place

try the plex app...it cost a few bucks, but streams videos fine from mac or pc (haven't tried a pc, but my mac was set up in a sec and works great.) for pc streaming (no mac) qloud was easy also and streamed my movies fine. ...good luck!

[Q] Some YouTube video's won't play on my Tab Pro 8.4 (audio codec related?)

Hi there!
Some video's on YouTube won't play on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.
It's not a mobile or region related issue, I don't get any error message, the video just won't play.
Not in the YouTube app, nor in Chrome.

I think it has something to do with the audio codec being used because when I download the video via http://www.clipconverter.cc I can play it with MX Player but without sound.
Does anyone else have this problem?

It plays on mine. Mine is running CM11. Maybe a yes or no isn't necessarily useful?

It plays on my tab pro 8.4 which is NOT rooted. Have you tried to clear youtube in applications?

The Video runs without any issues on my Tab Pro 8.4 with CyanogenMod 11.

Mine is also not rooted. Cleared the app data for YouTube which didn't help. (Would have surprised me if it did because the video wouldn't play in Chrome either).
I was thinking that maybe the problem was caused by some Samsung stuff I disabled.
So I tried to look at my disabled apps but then I got this error message:

Unfortunately, Touchwiz Home Has Stopped.
Which made me think that maybe I was right.
But now it looks like I'm not able to re-enable my disabled apps!
Any ideas?

try to reset your device and see how it goes. I had this problem with Milk music where it only plays music for a couple of seconds then stops, a reset rectified the problem.

settings a little deeper and found that I had disabled the SNS process within the app manager:

Can somebody with a rooted device(assume it's needed to pull apk from fire TV/stick) please download then able to pull from device the .apk and upload so I can then load on to my firestick.

I also would like the apk to the official JW Broadcasting app so I can port it to my Google Nexus Player. But I would also suggest that if you would like it published in the Google Play store for Android TV, let the organization know by submitting a suggestion here:

Unfortunately these apks don't work on Android TV. Not sure why a similar apk can't be developed for ATV
